I've watched dozens and dozens of videos on how to cut a Bob/long Bob at home. Your video is by far the best and most educational one I have found. I am using this technique to cut my hair next month.
I tried this method and it worked great! My hair is a lot thicker so feathering and thinning out took a lot more time and effort. Sharp scissors is an absolute must or it's gonna take forever. Thanks for uploading, this is gonna save me so much money ;)

i love how you took us through the whole thing by styling it the way you normally have it, cutting, straightening, doing it again. instead of just lobbing it off and saying okay guys thanks for watching! only thing is when you mentioned the dye, your hair is already bleached and i think that is worth mentioning because it significantly influenced the way the grey turned out
So........I took a chance and just did it! Cut off 3.5 inches and followed your instructions to the T - turned out so great! I love it more than any time I've been to a salon. WOW.

Hate beauty salons. they try to get the hair cut they want. can't even dye hair the way I want. so I use videos on here to do myself + get the results I want.
I'm convinced they all want to cut "the rachel" and every highlights are zebra stripes and every red is maroon/super dark. it's always always always never what I want!!!! been cutting my own hair for 10 years. .. been good at it for 3 Lol thanks to videos likes this. also to get volume on top there's a guy who talks about cutting a diamond and that works really well too

I cut my hair using this technique a few weeks ago. It worked out pretty good, minus the fact that it wasn't a lob. The back was significantly longer than the fronts. I had to shorten the back quite a bit to make it a lob.
It is past midnight...and I cut my hair after viewing this video!!! The steps are well explained and you just have to take your time. My DIY haircut turned out great!!
Since your hair was already lightened from your previous coloring, the grey color was easy to achieve I'm assuming. However, would that product work with hair that is medium brown?
+Antoinette Eve yes my hair was lightening to a platinum blonde. If you want to achieve any kind of pastel or silver hair, your hair has to be almost white blonde, it won't take on brown hair. hope this helps

I can't get enough of your hairstyle. My hair is about the same length as yours and it's a a line bob. I always set out for your type of hair style and I never get it! I just end up putting it in some kind of low up do grrrr. Can you show how you style yours???? And also I had some purple added to my ends so it was lightened. It has since grown out and I just keep dying the ends myself but I want the color to go higher. Would you lighten the ends even the colored part up to where I want the color to start? Or would you just lighten from the color up ???
+Alma Carrillo thanks, I will definitely be making a video on how i curl/style my hair, just keep and eye out for it :) If you wanted to bring the color higher, i would reccommend leaving the ends alone and just lightening it from the color up. The lightener will eventually blend with your lightened hair.

Then once you started, I was mesmerized. Your new cut looks so amazing! Looks like a professional did it. Very beautiful results! Ok so I just did you layering video and then watched this one..so I now have a long bob loll.My hair was super long stringy and its hot as heck in Ca. So I went back added a few layers its shorter than yours but I love it.. It looks healthy and I might even be able to wear it down. Was do tired of the ugly bun wrapped on my head. . thank you so much. .my hubby is going to freak because he is asleep and I stayed up all night doing 2 hair cuts.. SydneyKayJones unless you have thick hair without layers, nope. You need to add layers to remove the bottom bulk, if thats what suits you

Just a tip to anyone wanting to do this , cut your hair when it's wet or pin straight so that you don't get different lengths to what you intended.

Since your hair is dark, you would need to lighten it first.

If you have a lot of breakage that's shorter than that (including a lot of front unfortunately) do you think it would look like a mullet?
I don't know your hair, but you can try a fake bob to see what it looks like. There are plenty of tutorials on RUclips for it.
