This was the most informational tutorial I have seen from you....ever, I think. Not that I don't love your others, because I watch them intently, however, the need for intense instruction videos on these modern haircuts is sooooo important to me. I love this haircut, and love doing it on clients, but it took me a while to master it. I even learned some new tips from you, so thank you!!!
So beautiful! You are amazing! I have had so many bad experiences with hair dressers that claim they can cut my hair the way I ask them to, but really have no clue. You are so right about having that great cut that lasts a long time. It looks good when you wake up, after getting blown in the wind, or whatever. Thanks again for the video. You do a great job explaining every step and you speak clearly.
FINALLY!! Omg, i feel like crying! I have proof that this haircut can be done!! I've been wanting this EXACT haircut the past 3 years & NOBODY has been able to do it! I always end up with a weird shag. The stylist around here seem to be scared to do this on my curly hair, but the angles, especially that texturizing 😍 just everything you did is perfect for my hair! THANK YOU!! Now, to find someone who can execute this the same way 😫
Same, Bookwrm4evr. I had a heart to heart with the last stylist, explaining all the disappointing outcomes and asking if she could do this. Walked away with another disappointment and when I complained, after the cut, she told me my hair was thick and that is why it doesn't work. I was so excited to hear him say his model had thick hair.
Thank you! I did my first lob haircut just by watching this over and over before I did the cut. She's happy with her new hairstyle, I even did beachy waves for her.
I wish I could have seen everything. He kept pulling hair out of the camera shot and saying "See?" No! I couldn't see it!! Please be more aware of this in the future. We would like to see the top AND the bottom as well.
Hey I'm apprenticing now. You are so much better of a teacher than them. I know there are different ways to cut hair but since I have learned your ways, their ways seems obsolete. I can actually follow you. Keep doing the step by steps when you have time. They are a tremendous help. Rock on and thanks for real.
May I give you a tip...curl from the base of the hair lol curling the ends looks terrible...leave the ends straight to maintain length..ugh those curls killed your cut dude.
I really really like how you cut hair and how u explain every step by step as you are cutting . Thanks a mlIllion . I love to watch you always- Naziha is my name 👍
I love this haircut! great job! I've wanted my hair like this for so long now. process was explained very well and ive learned alot. This young lady (Sydney?) is blessed to have her hair done by you!
First I'm a VIRGO too!! However I started watching your videos before attending Cosmetology school, and back then I had no idea what any of the terms meant. Now after just clocking out for the last time this past Thursday, I now actually understand whats going on. So thank you for making these videos, the education never stops!
Thanks so much for this video, Thesalonguy you are an awesome hairdresser and I find your instructions very clear & easy to follow, you're a great teacher too. It's a pity at times we couldn't see the whole length of the hair, to see how it all fits in. Overall, great cut.
I appreciate the education..We often get clients with a ton of hair, who want movement and their length. I have learned so much about what NOT to cut. I hate hearing that "professionals can't do it, or are "scissor happy." We actually WANT tbeir hair to look great We LOVE referrals! A pic is great for basic inspiration for a finished look, but it doesn't tell us the approach to the cut in back. You give common sense tips and even if your curls created a rude buzz of brutal honesty (key word being "brutal") The structure is there for several styling options. We all know girls that age throw it up in a knot or pony, anyway. Ha ha. Good work and great education. Thank you so much. It's hard to not leave a stair-step shelf of weight with thick hair (esp blondes). Itruly enjoy and lol @ the people "cutting their own."
Dude, yes it's 2018 and I'm just now seein this, but I can see that you ROCK!!!!! Awesome cut and awesome styling also!!! I LOVE IT! 👌😍💇🏼💁I'm looking for the type of BOB to go with, I have fairly long and fine hair..! It's past the middle of my back so I do have a lot of options, but I don't look good with short hair from past experience ! So a Med. Length Bob is what I'm looking at! Your videos r helping me, along with some other new styles! Keep cutting away!!!
While all these people comment talking shit, I admire his technique. Keep in mind before making rude assumptions that your the one looking up how to do this, he’s the professional🤯
Goodness I loved watching this! I am not a stylist but comforted that he cuts the hair in the same sort of way I do, except my hair is waaaay thinner than this stunning lady's 😍 I'm gonna try to give my hair a little lockdown update now cause its long and dry, thanks for all the nice details I love the little subtle techniques with the razor and softening/blending the layers! The waves really enhance the shape and body of the hair too, my hair dries wavy like that but would like to try for more big loose waves 🤔
I enjoyed watching this so much! I am about to have my hair styled and I am thinking about going with something similar but I must choose wisely >>> My hair is "Thin to None! It's long and I know a shorter layered style will help somewhat to look fuller but my head is kind of too flat in the back too. I'm looking for the perfect style. Thanks for posting such great looks to choose from!
This hair style is still as relevant today! You gave a beautiful hair cut that can be worn straight, or scrunched. Ohhh, I wish you could make house calls! Since you can’t and we’re in a pandemic shut down (in all of NYS), can you do a tutorial on how one would cut their own hair by instructing the model to do so? I’m being serious. I desperately need a haircut and am not a hairdresser! My salon girl gives such a technically good haircut, that it looks just as good all the while it’s growing out! That’s how you separate okay hairdressers from the pros. And YOU ARE A PRO!!! Due to medical issues, i wasn’t able to get a haircut since December, and although it still looks good (other than some dead ends), it’s way too long and the upkeep is too much!!!! H E L P.
@@rain3743 If I am a paying customer and they put a finish like those curls on me, I am going to throw a fit. The plain look after the cut is great. But, maybe it's just me, I like simple hairstyles. When you look on TV, all these 'curled' woman look the same, I can't find anything cute or beautiful in that disheveled look
@@Choppini I see your point. I guess I am just defending the cut and not over-reacting to the thermal style. > rareky lije how?a stylist finishes my haur. If they want "beach wave" then an unstructured, disheveled look is the goal. I agree, that his curls weren't ideal. The two other options are flat ironed straight or s round brush blow out.(unless there is a natural wave or curl. I wouldn't do a prom-ish ringlet-like curl in it. Glamorous finger wave would be ok, but that isn't a "salon finish." That's?a soecial event "do" and more $. This look is a strong structure baseline and "loose wave." I would have grabbed a wand. If he had blown it out with a round brush it would have expanded out and looked pyramid shaped, I think. She had a ton of hair.

He cuts hair just like I do. Sooo true!!!! beauty shops are scissor happy!!!! & they rush through everything & are not as perscise
Free I know this is an old post. Have you gotten your hair cut since you posted this? I hope you didn't go to a beauty school! That was terrible advice.
Ya, I know what you mean. Even I got the best hair cut ever from an expensive salon $85. So I was willing to pay again. I saved up, went to the same stylist and she gave me a horrid cut. I went back to have her recut it. Just take some length and bulk out but she did a total different shape that is even worse! It a perfect combo of Farrah 1970s feathered hair and a mullet. 😱😱 This despite my best efforts to communicate to her. She wasn’t helping at all by asking me questions or anything. Fuck it. I’ll cut it myself or just go to cheap Asian salon. I don’t care. Now I have to suffer with this hideousness for at least 4 months. And I am seriously suffering. Can’t do anything with it. Even a ponytail looks weird.
poor girl, that happened to me several times. Actually, very MANY times. You show them a picture of YOU (from many years ago, with the haircut you like), and telling them you want a symmetrical, layered cut, without thinning scissors (wavy/curly thicker hair) or razor knife. What you end up with is a constantly loudly yapping person telling you her private dramas, hardly looking at you, paying more attention what is being talked about at the neighbor chair, and you go home totally crushed because you look like an idiot, a haircut that has nothing to do with what you look like in that said picture. Only once in a while they got it 'pretty close', but the second time you go there they totally mess up (even bringing the same picture and giving the same explanations), so you have to go to another salon to fix it. And it happened to me that it was even worst after the 'fix'. I only can shake my head....Never happened to me in Europe, in over 40 years, and going to maybe 15 years to the same salon before coming to Canada. I always was excited when I left the salon there, I felt always GORGEOUS! And I can't find a reason why people here can't do that, even in the high-end salons, who charge you an arm and a leg for a consultation with an 'intermediate' or 'experienced' hairstylist. They don't even want to hear what you try telling them about your hair, they say: don't worry, I know what I'm doing. DUH! I have a whole collection of pictures of me after getting horrible haircuts. No joke, it is beyond my understanding what people think a "layered haircut" is, even if you show them the pic of a perfect cut.
well, your camera is positioned either too high or too low for us to see how you cut. if you pull the camera further, it will give you a larger view....kind of pointless video if you cannot really see what 's going on...
I looooooooove it! Oh my god, I appreciate the way you did it, and how you explain it! I hope someday you could cut my hair or something I am so serious! Love it love it love it!
she looks so good! would this cut look good on someone with really thick hair? I always ask if layers and what kind of layers would be best on my hair type and never really get a straight answer
You're fantastic! I live in a small city where I haven't been able to find a stylist who really gets the geometry and structure of a good cut. Do you have any suggestions on how to suggest to a stylist that they watch this video? I'm that desperate. What city are you in and are you taking new clients? It's a joy to watch you create a style. Like watching a sculptor. Smooches!
You had me until you professed to be a Virgo. Astrology? Seriously? UGH.....just stick with being a perfectionist and taking pride in your work. Much more grounded and professional than going for that hippie drippie stuff that truly holds no basis in reality. LOL!
Great video, thanks, I'll try something similar on myself. Gonna use clips though, since I'm not an octopus, lol. You break it down to be so easy. Gorgeous styled! 😍 Wish you had set the camera further away though, you're out of the frame too much. :/
Looks great! I wish I could get you to do my hair! I have very thick hair like hers but mine is curly and I've never found anyone who can cut my hair right.. So I've kept it long forever but I'm dying to cut it with a cute style like this!
julia bellei I actually did do this myself about a month ago and I absolutely love it! With the curl, you can't even tell if it's a bit uneven in places lol!
@@Amberg0481 I agree with Amber. I cut my own hair and have done for over a decade (went into a hairdresser for a cut to give me lift at the back and she didn't join the layers and now have a mullet). As my hair is wavy it hides a multitude of sins. A mullet is a mullet, when there's that much of a difference in layers there's no hiding it. I love this cut and now know how to give myself a bit of a light layered lift at the back. I really do think I've been put off going to a hairdresser for life. I've been contemplating going to a curly hair specialist but am too afraid of another bad cut but for so much £££'s! I have a 2a wave and just find (like someone else said above) that hairdressers always say they can give you what you want and unfortunately you leave disappointed and with a cut which takes months to grow out to put right. I've got a creaclip coming and that should help a lot. I'm 43 and I give up trying to find a hairdresser who can do as I want. I've been SOO much happier with my own cuts by far.
hey there! I have a question. before I cut my hair I had a layered haircut with short pieces in the front. but then I decided to cut it cause my hair was too damaged. I wanted to have one of those cool piecy long bob, but it turned out to look like "mom-hair" because of my previous layers. Is there a chance to still achieve a modern lob without it looking like mom-hair? and what do I need to ask for when I see a hair dresser?
Your welcome. . I am highly thinking this style.. where r u located? .. might have to do a road trip.. lol thanks so much your videos r great and very informative. . I really enjoy..

Love Watching your cuts!! Keep em coming!
Omg, this is my dream hairstyle. I spent $70 at a studio trying to get this look, but I was very disappointed with the outcome.
Very beautiful!
For me I’d want an inch or two longer hair though
Beautiful cut! I love that you have fun with her. That's how it really is when they are in the chair. For me, at least. Thanks!
she looks so good! would this cut look good on someone with really thick hair? I always ask if layers and what kind of layers would be best on my hair type and never really get a straight answer
You did a really good job! Beautiful curls too. This was very helpful, thank you :)
This is really nice I love the way you cut hair, it seams like you really like it and you know what are you doing. Wish you could be my hairdresser.
+Dina Zejnilovic thx Dina I sure try lol
thankyou so much damaged my hair wanted to cut short this is so helpfull!!!
Glad you liked it!
Love a good angled bob! Curious, what's your go-to when styling a freshly cut bob?
you do the best tutorials thank you!
Aw thxxxx
Great video ! Looking to try a stacked bob for a client of mine . My first one !!
This worked really well, thanks 👍🏻
Totally on point. Not perfection on the beachy wave.. But other than that.. Amazeballs on the cut!
Sydney's hair gorgeus, and I like ur funny jokes also the angling tip ,by not rounding off back ends Tu
Woooow! ❤️😻😻 that hairstyle doe!
Love how u texturized it 22 yrs my friend 💗🙏🏽🍀
Thx!!!!
My biggest fear with cutting my hair, is getting a Karen haircut.
looks so much better than an inverted bob
Thanks!!!!!
For people with very thick and voluminous hair, how do you thin out the back? I find a lob looks best with my face shape but it gets so puffy!
I really like the way you cut
Just seen your ad downtown New Brunswick..I would apply but I cherish my hair too much to have it messed with lol
Awww well email me
You're fantastic! Smooches!
Wow! I wish I had access to you!! Fantastic! You are such a perfectionist :)
+Linda Hoyt I'm a Virgo!!! Lol
Wish you had set the camera further away though, you're out of the frame too much. :/
your videos are the best!!
Thank youuuuuuu
You did a great job 😍😍😍l love the haircut
Thank youuuuuu
It's great would love it xx
Looks great! I wish I could get you to do my hair! I have very thick hair like hers but mine is curly and I've never found anyone who can cut my hair right.. So I've kept it long forever but I'm dying to cut it with a cute style like this!
Amber Goodman You can do it yourself
if you like the haircut that you have now you can just cut the length
julia bellei I actually did do this myself about a month ago and I absolutely love it!
Looks amazing
This technique is nice to do on a one length bob so that it does not look so solid.
Will this style work for thin hair?
Those curls look like the ones I gave myself the first time I ever tried to style my hair...when I was like 11
I'm a Virgo too!!! #imavirgotoo
