Adventurers, welcome to Hillsbrad Foothills, a land of rolling hills and a tumultuous history. Join me as we unravel the mysteries of this storied region, and dive into the heart of Hillsbrad to uncover the secrets held within its lands. Ready your cloaks; our journey through history begins now!
I remember when I first got there, during the first weeks of original Vanilla, I thought my level 30-something paladin was a badass. A group of Alliance players were minding their own business, then a group of high level Horde guys appeared out of nowhere and destroyed everyone. I panicked and just hid behind a tree. They didn't see me and moved on. That whole experience felt so real :)
Ah the Hillsbrad Foothills. Back in the old days of 'retail', when Alliance & Horde were a stone's throw away fromneach other, and consistently drawing and testing battlelines between their respective encampments.
Dear Loremaster, thank you for doing a video on another of my favourite Azeroth zones. I have so many fond memories of running around here. Both whilst levelling up, but also when I was max level. I remember the long long run from wetlands all the way up through Arathi highlands, being chaised by the forsaken wanderers. I remember running around the Yeti cave trying to collect pelts for the cloak quest. I remember hunting murlocs along the coast line, evading other hordes coming for some easy PvP. Most of all I remember the great battles that used to take place on the plains in Hillsbrad. Being home from school, having some hordes attack me, calling in backup to repel them.. when they called in more friends. This escalating to a battle of a massive scale. It was also here I remember killing a horde (mostly through luck) and the title "blood guard" popping up on my screen, getting so excited that I ended up texting my friend about it and we freaking out over killing such a high rank player! Those were the times. I could go on and on, but mostly I just want to say thank you, loremaster, for putting a smile on my face and enjoying old memories.
That's what makes World of Warcraft so magical! Those chance encounters that turn into years of camaraderie and adventure. Glad to bring back some good memories, and glad to see you again!
The old hillsbrad was home now it's a former shell of itself and I miss going there without just having to go back in time to just admire our old alliance branch
Thank you, kind Loremaster! Revisiting lands of old and hearing tales of old kingdoms and new is always much enjoyed after a long day of fishing... I mean slaying ogres! 😅
Your videos are so good and relaxing to listen to yet intriguing as well. I played the game at high level most of journey and ignored the lore for speed so it's nice to revisit the areas and learn what the hell I was doing lol
These are so fun. Great for slowly turning your brain off before sleep. Would you tell us what is next? Hinterlands and Plaguelands are what i look forward to
One of my favorite zones of all time. The look and feel are great. the PVP in it is really fun too. As well as ganking low levels when your higher level lol, until they call guild mates to come help. In fact i remember there was this tauren guy I would fight all the time here, for years we would encounter each other from time to time. His name was Redlake lol, ill never forget him.
Definitely! Thanks for watching, and who knows, maybe one day you'll cross paths with Redlake again in some grand adventure. It's a small world... or maybe a small server, after all!
Indeed, before it became the Sludge Fields, Hillsbrad was very much under human control! When did you first venture into the world of Azeroth? Or did your journeys prevent you from reaching this corner of the Eastern Kingdoms op until now?
I was so glad blizz decided to make Durak and Rehze mag'har orcs it means corruption is slowly leaving their people just like many blood elves' eyes are changing from green to blue or yellow and Durak being strong warrior is something I like very much in orc heritage questline he was talking what if he doesn't want to be shaman like his parents
Don't tell the rest, but here's another paragraph that was left out of the video: Without warning, the earth trembles faintly underfoot, and a heavy silence falls across the battlefield. In these rare moments, no blade can swing, no spell can cast, and no cry can be heard. Both the Horde and the Alliance have learned to fear these pauses, viewing them as the land's way of groaning under the weight of their battles.
Thanks for the kind words, and I do apologise for the late reply. About the Discord server: I know you offered your help with setting it up, and I really gave it a try, but unfortunately, I've decided not to continue with it. I've struggled to get the hang of it, and it just doesn't feel right for me to implement it for the community. Hope you understand my decision!
@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth I'm so sorry for missing it, I was introducing my 7 y/o nephew to your videos and I was distracted by the dozen's of questions that emanate from a young mind, I will re-watch it asap. Thank you so much!
No need for apologizing at all, dear adventurer! The curiosity of a young mind is always a worthy distraction, and what better way than to share these tales with the next generation of Lore-seekers! Thank you for being such a fantastic part of our journeys!
It's a shame you can't reset your level to go through the history of the place again 🙂 No place has as much charm as Hillsbrad, the last refuge of the people in the north and a haven before the plague grounds. Pity the alliance didn't have more to do there apart from a few quests. For that I was completely lost doing quests on the Horde side. It's a shame that the place has completely lost its former charm. I hope to return to this place one day.
The mention of Anduin often brings to mind the young King of Stormwind, Anduin Wrynn. However, in the tales of Hillsbrad Foothills, it's Anduin Lothar, a figure from an earlier era. Known as the 'Lion of Azeroth,' Lothar was a legendary warrior and leader during the tumultuous times of the First and Second Wars. It's easy to get the two mixed up with such heroic qualities shared between them, but each Anduin played his own unique role in world of Azeroth.
@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth Thanks for the lore, friend. It’s greatly appreciated, and yeah it’s easy to get the two of them flipped around in my brain lol
The one thing I hate about this channel (AND not the Fault of the Channel creator!) I always want to reinstall and resub to the game. But I know I will be disappointed big time if I do so as the game I knew and loved of old have been trashed and ruined over the years and even Classic can't bring it back as part of what I loved was open world RP of old which sadly never did take off in Classic (To the point of the Classic EU RP server being so sad it have FREE characters transfers away from it) But Wow have SOOOO much wonderful lore and history (I DID play it for nearly 18 years after all)
For context and transparency; I write all the scripts myself from start to finish. After that, I indeed refine certain sections with the help of AI, to achieve the precise style and tone that befits a wise and knowledgeable narrator.
I've actually come to like the Lore Master voice. I thought about it before... but I think it wouldn't have the same effect if it were a person reading the script. With the AI voice, he can use more interesting dialogue. The writing is wonderful! It reads exactly as one would think an old, wise, fantasy loremaster would sound.
Absolutely, I've thought about doing the narration myself, but personal reasons led me to choose otherwise. This new AI technology now overcomes those barriers, allowing me to share the passion that I have for this game consistently and in the unique style I've always envisioned!
Me neither, but it's better than nothing if he would've otherwise made no video at all. I sadly dont listen much because then AI voice does get distractingly monotonous, and the writing gets verbose, but it works fine for others.

I miss the old Hillsbrad Foothills. It was sheer chaos.
Chaos is an understatement!
My server was lame so it was just a beautiful and peaceful place for me.
I miss it back in the Golden years , Alliance and Horde both could quest there , nowadays Hillsbard looks like Trick or Treat land in retail 😕
Horse and alliance fight like hell constantly walking by lord forbid you found a rouge stalking you he would not give up.

Any zone with pine trees in this game are instant love for me. Thank your for another great video
The red trees in Hillsbrad Foothills really set it apart, making it a visually stunning zone. My pleasure, thank you for joining once more!

It’s bittersweet, isn’t it? Old Hillsbrad holds a special place in our hearts. Luckily, we can still revisit its glory days in classic!
always loved hillsbrad cause of the TBC instance Old Hillsbrad. i wish there were more moments of going back tin time in WoW. would be so cool
That tongue-in-cheek bit around 19:10 was just brilliant lol

Aside from the blunder where you called Tarren Mill and Southshore cities, it was otherwise an incredible video.
Hahaha, well let's say there's only so many synonyms for town or village ;) thanks for watching!
HILLSBRAD!!
I just took a visit there a few weeks ago in search of some Frost Tipped Arrows in classic...
Some question linger: did you find any arrows? And did you emerge from the Foothills unscathed?
@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth unscathed, and yes I bought quite a few from the alliance front at Alterac Valley :)

19:00 the server lagged from too many people on and getting killed because of it never sounded so poetic 🥲👍🏻
