Loving this album. For those who feel like the band isn't Christian anymore, Matt said he is still very active in his faith, saying he or the other members of the band are struggling Christians because they made a video about vampires is down right silly. Enjoy the music, find your own meaning in the lyrics and move on.
@@Immolator772 yes and no. When Matt is screaming at the end "Just let me in" it's the boy wanting to be friends with the vampire likely before he knows that she's a vampire. Even though she's dangerous, she ends up saving his life, and then he returns the favor. Really great movie, there's an American version of the movie called Let Me In, but I haven't seen that one.
@@zinnyzxx well it still has deeper meaning, some bands i know they use references of movies to create their own story and give a deeper meaning to their song.
Imagine being so obsessed with your religion you can’t accept a band can make a dark music video and a dark song without being demonic thus missing out on an amazing song in the process
I listen to a few of these songs at warped tour yesterday after i came back from the hospital cuz i broke my left leg it was lit took a pic with the vocalist
Reminds me a lot of Oh, Sleeper's Son of the Morning album... a little heavier, but similar in its tonality and experimental nature. Not what I'd normally expect from MCMB, but I like that they don't try to replicate their sound every album, much like Trivium (let the hate flow, haters...)
I guess this album isn't gonna have any melodic metalcore type riffing? Or pace or heaviness? I just can't get into any of the singles in the slightest. Oh well. I still love the old music
Alexander McYates to be honest this is easier to listen to i like it heavy but i wanna learn the songs that brings comfort to me... I didnt liked them at first but i gave them another chance today and its all i beem listening... Dark passenger convinced me they was for me...
Damn sh! Where are those good old ones MCMB with the best ever singalongs?? Metalocore is dead withoout you and those few still breathing bands. Guys, bring back that still blowing up chaos you did before! Cheers from Ukraine
Hmm.. the new style refresh is really growing on me. Your vocals have come a long way but very dark lyrics and imagery. I'm starting to think this is no longer a Christian band which is unfortunate for me.
My guess is that this song is meant to be an allegory. These guys have always had a darker approach. Just because lyrics are dark, that doesn't indicate Luciferianism/Satanism. Some bands use lyrics that sound dark and anti-Christian on their own in order to tell a story. Considering this song is the opening track of the album, it would make sense if this is meant to be a setup for a concept expressed on the album.
Jacob a dark approach is one thing.. they did have it on previous albums but nothing like this. Black hooded robes, blood smearing, drinking.. the baphomet/Lucifer mask. Speaking of virgin sacrifice and his "master feeding tonight" etc.. It's like a literal occult initiation ceremony in this video. Also if you study some of their lyrics on their other albums too they make direct references to Lucifer a couple times but none to Jesus Christ. Their references to God are ambiguous or terms like grand architect, harbinger, maker.. The music itself is good.. I love heavy music but for me as a Christian this is at best scenario dark "allegorical” music bad for the soul.. or at worst actually satanic. At this point the latter seems more likely..
Black hooded robes are used by some sects of Christian monks. The blood smearing/drinking is vampiric, which could symbolize the way Satan and the demons feed on our sins. The Baphomet/Lucifer mask could tie in with that. Again, the sacrifice thing could tie in. Until they talk about the concept a little more, my interpretation is that it's meant to be storytelling, not promotion of Satanic acts. As for their previous albums, they may not outright say "Jesus" and such. However, God the Father IS the grand Architect of all there is, just as the Son is the Artisan. Jesus is also the Harbinger of God's Word because He IS the Word. Songs like God of Nothing directly call Satan out for being a fool for rejecting our Triune God. Their lyrics are centered around Biblical themes without being preachy about it. Even the name, MyChildren MyBride is a direct reference to the Bible's description of the church of believers: we are adopted as sons through Christ, and we'll also be united to the Triune God as a marriage type of relationship with the church being the Bride of Christ. I think you're jumping the gun a little. Let's wait and see if the guys elaborate a little. As far as I can tell, it's simply allegorical storytelling. Look at bands like Saviour Machine: their music is definitely very dark, sometimes directly speaking from the perspective of Satan himself (Ten: The Empire, for example), yet that's simply because they're using it as storytelling, not because they follow or worship Satan. Same goes for the prog metal group Vanden Plas. They're not explicitly a Christian band but most of the members are Christians (including the vocalist), yet their previous two albums have been based around Wolfgang Hohlbein's "Die Chronik der Unsterblichen" (The Chronicles of the Immortals) which isn't a Christian fiction series, but it does have Biblical themes in addition to some darker vampiric elements. They use those elements merely as storytelling, not to worship Satan. So my point is to give it time. If you feel the Holy Spirit convict you to stop listening until there's a clarification, then follow His guidance, but don't completely shut out the possibility and probability that this is all merely storytelling rather than Satanism.
Jacob you have very valid points and I am aware of the references. One of the subtle things about occult circles is that they use terms that are familiar to believers with just enough biblical backing so that it will be interpreted as truth even though they are speaking of counterfeit concepts from their own practices. From my personal Christian perspective I would ask myself why walk that line to portray evil to make a certain point which may never get interpreted correctly if I'm in a Christian band trying to deliver a message that should in some way glorify Jesus Christ? Especially when souls are involved. I am eagerly waiting clarification from the band as I was looking forward to this release for many years and love their previous material! I even hope I am wrong and jumping the gun but as of now I do feel led by the Holy Spirit to a moment of discernment in regards to their content. Blessings to you and my prayers are going out to mcmb.
You have some points to it but as Jesus did say, a house divided against itself can't stand. If MCMB is now into the occult and is calling Satan and the demons out for being foolish for opposing God, what are they really accomplishing? Some bands do a darker approach in order to tell an allegorical story based on Biblical truth. It's understandable that you would feel that way about it, but sometimes bands play music for the sake of playing music and their faith just happens to come through the lyrics. But as I said, since you feel led by Him to be discerning over the content, you should certainly follow that path. Just keep an eye out to see if they explain things. :)
ah dun dun dun ahhh dun dun dun dun...all breakdowns. that was painful to listen to from one of my favorite metal core bands. this was more like a bad deathcore band release.

maybe there's a deeper meaning why they used vampires.
@@Immolator772 the deeper meaning is in Let The Right One In, and the meaning is Matt is a fan of that movie lol
@@zinnyzxx i'm guessing in the movie they are letting the wrong person, similar to that quote "let the Devil in"

Re-Check your comment again, in my opinion, cause it definitely has those things allover the album.
Tim Geuyen I think he’s talking about the Unbreakable era MCMB cause I don’t hear any of that in their new stuff as well :/

is it just me or the vocalist sounds a lot like Garret Russell from Silent Planet. I even confused this song for a SP song once.
i prefer the old MCMB
