In today's video, Alexander Cormont wants to help you understand what to do when you're still living together with your ex, but you are still broken up. This is a tough situation because you still love your ex, you still want them back in your life, and by living together, it confuses the situation. What should you say to your ex? How do you react? What can you do?
There are 3 RULES to follow when you are still living with your ex and still broken up.
RULE 1: Your ex is now your friend or a roommate. It's your choice. This solves the question of, "How can I talk to my ex?" This is where you will be able to maintain the connection, the communication, without being needy, or being afraid. You have a good opportunity to show that you have changed and can control your emotions when you live together.
RULE 2: If you want to get back with the one you love, and you're still living with an ex, your ex will examine your personal life closely. Make time for yourself, show them that you're changing yourself and your routine. When you're living with an ex, you might still be in a routine with your ex, and we want to change this so that you are more independent.
RULE 3: Always organize activities at home. Invite friends over! Show your ex that you have a life outside of them. This will rebuild attraction.
It's not easy because you have to see each other everyday. You have a lot of love for your ex. But living with an ex is a good opportunity for you, even if you're broken up, if your ex is being stubborn, or doesn't want to spend time with you. Just enjoy your life, create moments at home with your friends, new people, and show your ex that your life will never be the same.

I'm glad you guys made this video I really needed to hear this...so in regards to living with them am I suppose to feel the same ways when I know she devoting their time to someone else
3 years ago and no reply... No, get yourself in gear and push through. Get away, do anything but stay with that person. My words are just a comment, and short at that. BUT you can control nobody but yourself. So do that. I hope you're doing better now, but if not, you're very strong at sticking to someone. So be "selfish" for once and stick to yourself. Do what you need to leave.
You said that you need to consider your ex either a friend or a roommate. I would highly highly not recommend considering that a friend. You are settling and lowering your value. Consider yourself a roommate, or better, yet, a companion.

Same situation here I’m in for the kids ..get to spend time with them and if Ex comes back it’s a bonus if not I would’ve spent some quality time with the kids especially during current pandemic .

Timothy Sanders, If she thinks that you have to ask yourself how is it that you upset her. Ask her if you have no idea. Sometimes woman think you can literally read their minds but obviously you can’t so ask. Try, “help me understand what you’re feeling so I can better help us”. If she tells you that you should know then ask her if she knows what you’re thinking at that moment? Obviously not, that’s your example. Ask again and just listen, WAIT UNTIL SHE IS DONE SPEAKING, DO NOT CUT HER OFF! If you have to take notes if it’s a lot. It’ll show you care. Good luck!

Hey Alex , I was in a relationship with my ex for 7 months and over the time it grew very toxic , she started to break my confidence , make me doubt my self , I tried my best the things that she wanted I worked on them , the results were seen immediately , but she never worked on her part .... Im a week away from moving into my new space. The break up is official to her, shes making moves on other guys after our mutual breakup. See a therapist and do research on how to become securely attached. This is not normal or okay.
My ex still lives with me and everytime I have a female come to "MY" house she makes them feel uncomfortable but doesn't act like that when I have my male friends come over. Then when I tell her I want her to leave she fights with me where she calls the police on me and I get removed from my own house. She is not on the lease and im the one suffering and might even lose my home.

Hey coach Alex. My ex and I parted ways very calmly. I did no contact. She moved out, she came running back after 4 days. Gave it a week then we were officially back together. She is hurt by something that happened in the past with our relationship. Not a few weeks go by her bad feelings came back. We're broken up again, and still was very calm and civil. But we still live together and it seems we are getting along better. She said she still loves me and that I have changed into this amazing person. Obviously I was skeptical but the fact that she is comfortable with staying and comfortable with being around me still, should I be doing these things still?
