- Joel Proffit takes his brother, Micah, along with friends Dave Hollingshead and Austin Thompson into the backcountry of Wyoming for an elk hunt. First time elk hunters and first time backcountry adventurers, Micah and Austin are willing to test themselves against the weather, terrain, stock and the elusive bull elks. With the weather conditions changing daily, this is an epic hunt.
That was one great hunt boys. I so loved the spirit in which you all participated and served each other first. I also relate way too much on "the other guys", and have been privileged to be in your shoes a time or two. Praise the Lord for those times as well as the one's which only included great friends and family together having a great time. Loved it

we dumped 3 bulls this year two within 50 yards and the 3rd 150 yrds away. its a rush when that all goes down!

Poor guy. So much work. Not a vacation. Hard ride... could only haul 9 horses worth of gear.... try doing this on foot. Carrying everything you need. Packing your elk out 13 miles on your back. If that trip isn't considered a luxury vacation this guy needs his head examined.
Want some dead horses or hurt hunters? Tie your horses up to dead trees... Not smart..,
