- The Outlier is a public land, DIY elk hunting film produced by Montana Wild during the 2015 Montana hunting season. Follow along as four good friends battle to fill their elk tags with bows in hand in the Missouri River Breaks.
My hunting friends and I were just like your group when we were young , now in our mid 60s we cant do the pack in extreme , but what a life of memories we created . Much respect from a Arizona hunter .
One of the best hunting films ever! You guys captured the highs and lows of breaks archery hunting. Very tastefully done. Keep up the great work.
This has to be one of the best hunting films I ever watched. Very authentic, great job guys!
Some of the best REAL elk hunting I've ever seen, appreciate the passion for public land and the way you guys do it!
I know it is kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to watch newly released series online ?
@Marcellus Orlando Ehh I'd suggest flixportal. you can find it by googling:) -zayden
@Zayden Dawson thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it!
@Marcellus Orlando happy to help :D
Amen to what's said about the value of public land - public land well-managed for habitat/wilderness/wildlife and not just resource extraction . . great video and story.
Literally the best hunting and fishing channel on RUclips been watching since the buck nasty browns ✊
Awesome job guys with this film, finally got the time to watch it properly! Keep them coming
That was very exciting and very real all the way through. Thanks guys keep up the good work
Thanks Chris!
This video doesn't properly show the hell and heartache the breaks can cause on a hunting trip! Great job guys!
Incredible film boys! Can't wait for another!
Thanks Trey!
When the bull looks at you 44:00 and I can hear the heartbeat double in pace. Awesome
That was an awesome video. Truly appreciate your artistry and sportsmanship.
Thanks Kevin!
Love the breaks. Great production. You fellas really capture the essence of hunting there.
I think some people have the unrealistic idea that all shots will be perfect.. it's not like shooting the target at the range.. Good job on the recovery fellas. Enjoyed the content.
Love all of your work! And I've seen it all. Keep the videos coming! Well done.
Holy crap, my heart was racing on the first recurve stalk!!!! So good, I haven’t even finished watching the whole video yet & I can’t wait until my next break to watch more....work sucks!!!
I hope videos like this one inspire people to get out of their all terrain vehicles and hunt without them.
Well done. Great film. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet video guys! I enjoyed the hunting plus all the information! For a non resident it's cool to get a look at other states public land.
This is truly amazing.. thank you!!
What an exceptional film! You guys killed some amazing bulls as well!
I recognize some of the area and some of the bulls kinda awesome. Good video!
Nice film! Thx for sharing.
A very inspirational video. I'm going to be making time to watch more. Hopefully me and my son will get to hunt elk soon.
Thank you!
such an awesome video thanks for sharin with us and oh yeah great elk congrats
Great film!
Awesome production!
Great hunts guys team work being there for your brother when they are in need love it hunt on 👍🏽
Outstanding film gentlemen very enjoyable to watch. Had to sub even before finishing the video
Great video gentlemen!
Thanks Levi!
Phenomenal film🙌
He does have some killer frontsman that's a nice bull You know how it makes hype and of things one should really be able to watch the arrow break from the bow and And then hit the target Something I'm working on myself it's almost like a black out Phase From the excitement and adrenaline I think we should all have a process where we talk ourselves periodon't do it I'm God-bless you guys man you guys Do awesome I just so happen to stumble under this channel I don't know how
I sure enjoyed your video. Someday I hope to be able to hunt elk like you guys do. I'm too little right now. Joey
Excellent! So glad to watch an elk hunting film without the blaring calling sequences and product advertising, just hunting, hiking, and everything that surrounds. Thank you!!
Thanks Chad, that's how we think hunting films should be done and we're glad you agree!
Great stuff, fellas!
If this don't fire you up, then go back to bowling or video games. Awesome guys!
Am I the only one confused on how good this video is edited for being an hour long.
10ms L8tr when the music stops > 10:00 🥴 now i can watch in peace 🦌🌲🌳🌲
#1 reason I'll always use 16%+ FOC and a fixed blade
The Ranch Fairy would approve of this comment
@@judsonl8990 haha, Thats where I learned all about foc and "adult" arrows
BadKarma.- me too man! It’s good stuff
Also another reason to not take very low percentage shots. High FOC and cut on contact heads do help but a bad shot is a bad shot.
@@dathangarfield379 Yeah man, shot placement will always be king
Congratulations nice bull
Are you saying you fish without purchasing a license? You said you could fish the rivers at no charge?
Why aren't you guys using lumanocs? Luma-nocks? Top quality video; thanks.
Fixed blade COC head and the first bull would have tipped over in front of you. Great film but I have a hard time getting over the use of expandable broadheads for elk.
Disappointing end? You got close enough for a shot with a hole in your sock! That was some good stalking.
Great bull. I would emphasize the importance of watching as carefully as possible for all clues after the shot. Falling apart and all the arm pumping is cool, but those elk could have come out the bottom and you wouldn't have had a clue.
Sweet bro lingo and fist bombers bro!!! Totally dope n legit dude! 🥴🤣😂🤣
F$%^*n sensational! watching from Austdalia. THAT WAS THE BOMB!!
Haha thanks man!!
Nice your video brother 😁😁👍👍🙏🙏🤝🤝
What broadhead was that? Awesome video by the way
I've been waiting a long time for some more content. So glad you guys are still around! Can you share the reason for the hiatus? Great film BTW. I love what you produce.
That looks like a gut shot to me. Sucks big time. At least you was lucky to find him.
Ya there is no doubt a few hits were less than optimal. I think we did all the right things to find and recover both bulls though.
Great video sad shot wasn’t more lethal. It’s like that sometimes
Ya, we strive to take the best shots we can. Unfortunately as bowhunters sometimes they don't go down right away and you have to dig your heels in and grind it out.
Song at 51:40 ? Works well with the video.
Can anyone help me out with what meat packs those were? Looks like a killer bagpack.
I believe most of them were Mystery Ranch
@@MontanaWild thanks!
The reason you don't shoot expandables at big thick muscles animals...
Fuck yeah nice Bull Mr Brandon
Arrows wounding animals almost every time
Can’t believe you shot him, he didn’t score over 600”’s, No loud screeching guitar riffs constantly bugling and I’m not sure what products I should buy or ranch I should hunt. Guess I’ll subscribe anyways, 🙄. Damn regular friends just hunting
I know, we almost scrapped the film cause the bulls weren't big enough and we didn't have enough products to pimp out haha!
Unfortunately the quality of elk in this exact draw and this area you're hunting have gone down a lot since your hunt. The elk numbers have taken a big hit the past 3 years.
Looked like a great area to explore until you showed the rattle snake. No thanks. Stay here and just but up with the bears. Thanks for the video, we'll done.
Great content, great video, however you lost me at your dig toward the native community, that little outtake at the end where you’re mocking Natives was classless especially with you representing Stone Glacier and wearing Sitka.
if we can love and respect the animals that we hunt, surely we can respect the people who lost this land that we all enjoy can enjoy for hunting. Respect! its everything! great film btw and im just counting my days
So fragile and delicate, some of you are. Grow some skin.
@@Johnbobon that’s privilege talking. If someone belittled your family, beliefs and culture for more than 600yrs you would be pissed.
I use the side of my Tacoma as a drum when I sing all the time! Not to mention his voice was great for the native style! I’d sit around a drum with him any day. I don’t give a shit if your white black green, let’s sing brother! Us natives aren’t offended, thanks though.
👹👹👹👹👺👹👺👹
Great video apart from terrible arrow placement. If your can't pull off the perfect shot with a bow don't shoot it at all.
Great vid, but EFFIN A!!! The obnoxious overly loud music b/t your voice overs is just so tiring!!! Constantly have to adjust the volume on this end. Amateur rating!
Typical whitetail hunter shooting expandable broadheads on a elk...
Bad shot
Great representation of what hunting should be. Thanks for being outstanding ambassadors for the cause!!
Thanks Brian!
Only red bearded men are allowed to hunt this area yes?
Solid video guys, great content and story lines. Best of all the all night drive two of the guys made to help out a buddy!!! True friends right there. Thanks for sharing, Kevin.
Absolutely a great video and production. Well done fellas and thanks for taking us along on an epic season!
What an awesome channel gentlemen!!!! I started off with a 40lb Darton recurve back in ‘74!
That's awesome, glad you liked the film!
A Darton recurve!!!! Wow!!! I actually saved my allowance money over twenty years ago to buy a $180 Martin recurve.
SPIKES and GILLS awesome! That’s how I bought my Darton, babysitting, mowing lawns & chores!!!!
Great video. Thanks for not yelling and screaming after the kill. This shows respect for the elk and the process. Much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing - what a great film. Congratulations, one day I will make it out west for my first elk hunt.
Great recovery.
it's unfortunate That it wasn't a Clean Shot & having to sit their and watch Him suffer Sucks, Always try and stalk and get another one in them Then bury the heart in the earth so its spirit runs free forever, Don't forget to thank the animal for its life and the life its given You and your family. other than That Great hunt , Great Video work. Good Job Gentlemen, PS: I know the Heart taste Great but its always a good idea to give back to mother earth and set the animals Spirit FREE \m/;
Finally a show without blaring music. Well done.
But, what music there was is still not volume normalized with the voice over and field narration....had to keep turning the volume up and down on my end.
Your kidding right !
@@jefferyschirm4103 I recon. I have to have it half volume...
It’s really sad to watch all the hunters now days posting videos of a fun hunt. This area used to be pristine. I’ve been hunting here since the mid 60s. Posting pics and videos ruin a nice place. Now all I see when there is out of state hunters and toilet paper everywhere. Very sad 😢😢
The mistake was made by not backing back down and going around… on that many bulls in the area you have get aggressive… even more so with a recurve… the recurve isn’t as strong as a good compound bow so me ,,, I’d get more aggressive,, watch the wind direction and move faster…
Bow hunting is hard but not to the point where you get depressed… like my bro you had to know you were going to get busted ,,, you where out in the open… the approach was domed from the beginning.. no cover but hey no big thing .. on to the next one,, live and learn… have fun…
The only thing missing in this video is the pack-mules , leaves the hunter with the energy to hunt farther, longer , and deeper, been there and done both..............
Great video guys! But I have to say it... Dont shoot a walking elk ! Their stride is huge!
The breaks are an amazing place.
Ya Brandon definitely made a mistake and learned from it. That one hit him pretty hard.
Why take off and let the animal suffer was you to scared to have to finish him off like a MAN
great video just remove the annoying music, people want the hunt not the noise
This was a really well put together video, almost like you could see it on national geographic or something. Keep it up guys
Thanks Isaiah! I think we're a ways away from Nat geo but are glad you think we're right there haha.
You're all sure to show where you hitting that so other people would know what to do should show the arrow placement
That was pretty epic. Nice job recovering your animals, you do hunters proud. You earned my sub.
Thanks! We definitely worked and stuck to it to make sure we recovered both bulls that had sub optimal hits.
This is the level of quality of video I always picture, but it never works out that way. Proving hope! Great work!
Thanks Jake!
Jake G are you actively filming and producing?
Great video. Nobody thanked God though
Damn the Bear has very little punch or what's going on ? Target panic and moving when the shot went off ? Something happened ? Better think about your arrow set up or something. You gotta get more penetration than this. Great hunt, great job, shot placements ??? Not so great, but shit happens. Thats hunting, and you guys regrouped well after recognizing the shot wasn't so quickly lethal.
Shoot I start thinking about elk camp and deer camp 3/4 months before it’s even actually here😂 I’ll start buying all the little stuff that I’ll forget last minute so I stash it all in a tote until elk and deer camp. Man I absolutely love the fact we get to go out and be blessed, everytime I reach the mountain its just like every worry all my stresses completely just fade away. I can’t wait to start hunting new states
great filming...awesome place to hunt...downside is selling this place out...all the californians moving to montana will be there...hunting with camera guy not true experince...
I’ve been watching this and am I the only one that feels like these cats are not have very much fun??? We go hunting and have hellacious good times … and still fill tags ,,, at times even hung over but laughing still… it use to be wed listen to the older cats now I’m the older cat … the years have gone by…we still have good times
Great video guys. Thanks so much for posting this so the rest of us can enjoy and learn.
Great production guys, thanks for bringing us old guys along on the adventure.
What a great video! I'm gearing up for my first elk hunt this year. Cant wait to get after it and this video is making the time tick by so much slower lol
Great vid. Persistence pays. Don't understand the walkin shots. Nothin good comes from most of um.
Your passion for public lands is contagious!! Love it. Keep spreading your message! Our future generations are depending on us to protect what we have today!!
Your quiver is way past the fadeouts...dumb move dude, gonna possibly ruin that nice bow 🙄
Sensational video. You guys are very skilled. Amazingly close contact. Keep it up.
Awesome Awesome Awesome video. Thanks for sharing everything and congrats to all you guys on the bulls!
