If you’re shooting at 1200 yards, you ain’t hunting. Even 600 yards is too far. I would wear a guillie suit and slowly crawl to about the 200-300 yard range to make the shot. A fluted barrel actually decreases the life of the barrel and affects its accuracy. I do not trust that salesman. When you’ve done the research on firearms, you know the difference between someone trying to make a buck and someone trying to find a rifle of the best craftsmanship that will last a very long time.
