Did update 12.1 tip the scales for anyone? Curious to know what you think of this update!
That Auto Shifter Poly Chord Mode is def my fav!!! Great video as always man!!
Also felt your pain on the "Select On Launch" to man... Thank God they updated that!
I was gonna sell it. This has me reconsidering!
Just waiting for a sale for upgrade from 11 to 12. I have the controller version. Too expensive for stand alone right now.....maybe used.
@@Yhuntermusicyuppp!!!! Thanks bro and anybody reading this should go watch THIS guys video
Undo History is a VERY UNDERRATED add on for this update. Very very pleased with all the new features added. I could see Drum Sampler becoming the new Simpler in a few years when 13 is released.
A fair amount of these new features are also available for Push 2! Huge update for Ableton Gang. Very excited!
yes that is HUUUUGE and very great for Ableton to continue that support
That sounds promising. Can you move tracks, scenes and create macros on push 2?
@@claytonchipper3874 I don’t have it in front of me, but my recollection is that you cannot move tracks/scenes or create macros on Push 2 like you can on Push 3. I suspect the lack of jog wheel makes some of these much trickier, UI-wise. You CAN, however, access macro variations on Push 2…which is a big one for me! The new Pitch Shift and Drum Sampler instruments also have great Push integration that works on Push 2.
Yes
glad u finally did it! 🔥
it’s always nice to hear your input man
Thanks, not the first video of this i've seen, but the most informative and useful!
Thank you! Yeah I’d rather hone in on a my top features and go deeper with them vs. just read the list off abletons website
That selection on launch was killing me! So glad they fixed it. Hopefully it’s an update on push 2.
I believe many of these updates (aside from standalone stuff) are coming to Push 2 as well!
@@Taetro But on Push2, it's acting as a controller, so this is set as a Preference in Live (software) itself.
12.1 is huge!
I'm really excited about the Push 3 standalone updates - it was already an amazing machine, but I agree with you - there were definitely some features missing at launch.
Macro mapping from the device is implemented really well I think, and the idea of now being able to have a proper sound design workflow from standalone is appealing to me.
It's becoming clear that over time Push 3 is going to become something of a dream production device for many people. Despite having its flaws and initial bugs, it's already been a dream standalone device for me personally since day one.
Great video man, love your work
I think you are right...can't wait to see what FUTURE updates will bring!
@@Taetro Oh man, I feel excited like a kid waiting for Christmas!
I’m not even a music creator and I’m here watching all your videos 😅
hahah you are more than welcome here!
Great video buddy and it’s awesome to see what they did to the Push 3. 💜
thanks man!! can't wait to see what you do with some of these updates.
From the start, I wanted the macros features on Maschine Plus, as well as a few other things. This is really great to see the Push moving in that direction for live performance. The thing that convinced me to purchase the standalone upgrade kit this week was actually the Arturia X8 OUT Adat expander for $299. NOW my push standalone alllows full stem remixing on my DJM V10 with only a tiny box and a small price tag. The updates in 12.1 are just icing on the cake 🎉❤
Great video thanks!
thank you!
holy god, the midi feature for auto shift will be insane, so much vocal chops potential
YUP!!!
Very nice and informative episode. #bravo
Finally! Undo History 🎉😊
haha so simple but so great
So stoked for these updates! Great overview dude! 🫡🙏
Macro Variations are awesome and the ability to save and also jam these on the pads is great
Great video 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
thank you!!!
definitely welcomed stuff,,- i'm not a "performer" on push 3 - strictly production but,, all of these are,, KEY ,, ! thanks for the full breakdown,, had no idea auto shift went That deep,, the midi & poly stuff,, - great
autoshift if a game changer for sure!!
Great content, thank you for sharing. I was hoping there would be a section in your video about third party VSTs being available in standalone. Until this happens, I am happy with using Push 2 with my laptop.
I think Ableton's approach will be to develop their own Live native devices which will be compatible with Push, rather than ever include 3rd party support for Push 3.
But Push 2 is getting some love in this update as well!
Hold Select and then press the scene to select it withoutlaunching it and keep holding it n move the jogwheel to change new scene position. This is on newest beta atleast. Culd be that Your Beta (while doing this video) was 12.1.b1 or b2. I'm on b3 and select + scene now works as expected.
You can now group/ungroup instruments and audio devices and move devices in that audio effect rack outside the rack.
Rename track with Push 3 onscreendisplay (enter Your name on arcade game style with controller) nonstandalone Push3 user here.
Clip Edit mode on the 5th row I see "Groove none (or a groove name)" text still on when You press Edit on the right corner.
good call! thanks for listing these changes!
UNDO HISTORY IS GOATED
This is coooool! I was already saving for the Push 3, but grouping/macros in standalone definitely seals the deal for me even more. I'm definitely aware of missing features, but my main use would just be for creating music in my living room when I don't feel like hiding in the studio. The features that will be available in 12.1 are definitely sufficient without me relying on a hope for an upgrade for the standard features I'd want.
absolutely. It's funny how a simple thing like grouping/macros can be so huge
@@Taetro For real and there's just a handful of other features that could be added, which I think are plausibly attainable. But I think it's important to get what you're getting when it comes to gear and not buy with a hope for upgrades to be able to satisfy logistical needs. They may never come haha
I agree!! But I do get a sense with things like MPC and now Push that these devices are meant to be ever evolving. And Push updates being connected to Live updates make that even more of a sure thing
The new filters are game changing for Push standalone. It helps browse the content library much faster.
YES!!!
Oh yeah - this is awesome! Browsing through ten billion kick samples alphabetically to load something named "z-kick.wav" wasn't so enjoyable on Push 3!
😂😂😂
Did they finally add the ability for us to midi map the crossfader??
Great overview, thanks. I'm still on Live 11 Suite with Push 2 and have been waiting to see what happens with Push 3 and Live 12 before deciding whether to upgrade both Live and Push. These changes look like quite a big deal, especially fixing the select track on launch thing which is absolutely fckn infuriating and has been one of the reasons I've held off on making Push the centrepiece of my setup. That's long overdue. All the other additions look great, especially the autotune effect.
I agree!
Finally usable! I found the omissions so annoying I couldn’t maintain focus 🎉
Wow~ This can greatly expand possibilities on my violin recording in music making 🎧🎤🎻🎛️
If you highlight the pad in drum rack does it automatically pitch it up the keyboard? Can you 16 level velocity? Does it have a reverse? Does it tell you the note the drum is in?
I want to make the switch from Logic drum designer/mashine to live drum rack.
-you can pitch up a sample in drum rack or open a sample in Simpler to play it chromatically
-yes on 16 level velocity
-You can reverse any sample
-You can use the tuner device to find the note of a drum
I think all you want is available in drum rack!
It just maybe time to upgrade!!! I finally brought 11 suite this time last year and a few months later 12 was dropped!!!
do itttttt
Auto shift seems like a help on finishing tracks
great for vocalists!
Exciting times for Ableton users
You're looking very happy on the cover image of this video. 😅
Finally. Push is getting close to reaching its potential and huge price tag. Better late than never
The drum thing and the undo are such nice changes. Nothing's worse than having to undo 5000 eq moves in a Pro Q 3. I hate that.
Hi taetro I’m unable to find the auto shift in the ablation even after installing the latest version 😅
It’s not on public release yet unless you are signed up for and running the beta of Ableton 12.1.
yes this is currently in Beta! but the beta is public if you want to try it out
Does the drum sampler have a reverse?
Just pulled it up to check for you. It appears to not have a reverse, unless I’m missing it. Seems like a questionable omission. Would have been useful for sure!
Great point! IT does seem like an odd omission...let's see if it gets added in post beta
I returned my Push standalone a week ago, these changes do make it better, but I would really like it if it relied even less on the computer. Not being able to save racks is so baffling to me. crafting patches and then having to do it again for every new project is just insane.
You can save Racks, you just hold the Save button and press the device name in the top row of soft buttons.
@@bencasey1688so that’s is new in this beta too then? If so that’s a huge win
That feature was in push 3 since launch of push 3
@@FINLUX 😂
Any of the Push features work with Push 2?
Several of the updates are listed for both Push 2 & 3! check the release notes and you can see which features are coming for push 2 as well: www.ableton.com/en/release-notes/push-12-beta/
Please make lots lots more push3 videos
definitely will do!
drum sampler just made creating Kendrick's Sherane drums sooooo much easier to achieve
Is 12.1 (final) out already? Or, is this 12.1 beta?
Beta, it’s not released yet.
Beta!
REAL Question brother: if I am playing my midi keyboard and have existing notes already, how do I prevent my existing notes from getting deleted when I go to record new one? Hopefully someone can help me out
Turn on ‘overdub record’ - little plus sign at the top of Live
Not Ableton adding Knock features to stock fx. As soon as they introduce stem separation I’ll probably fully switch from StudioOne
I think there's too many (even free) options for stem separation so I would be surprised to see them implement it despite it getting added to literally every other major daw
I really wish they would add a feature that would add an arp device to a track if you held shift -> repeat. The lack of immediate access to an arp is annoying.
you could create a default MIDI track with an arpeggiator on it! (or default live set with MIDI tracks preloaded with the arp)
Damn it now I have to get 12 😢
welcome to the dark side
My boi taetro recovered from roasting a boomer. It was a violent battle and he survived 😎
BACK AND STRONGER THAN EVER 😅
👏👏👏👏👏
👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
0:26 aaaand you didn't leave the link to the beta patch notes
Sorry! Meant to but forgot. Just added.
Where can I pirate it?
2:36 sounds like you took something to poland 😂
I took the woooooooook
Drum sampler need zero crossings
I think since it's mostly for one shots I can see why it does not have that, but would be great to have for sure
still in beta?! ugh. i thought this was an official update. 🙄
a public beta! you can use it right now.
Stand alone gang
STAND ALONE GANG!!
They released version 12 prematurely and we are all beta testers. Big regrets paying so much for this version
There’s a bit of sad truth there, but additional updates are free so even though these features were not available at launch, they are part of 12.
I wish they would add the ability to Hide tracks you’re not using but dont want to fully delete 🥲
I suppose you could group all those tracks
@@Taetro yeah but still doesnt take them out of view, Logic has that feature 🥲
