    Kawhi's father, Mark Leonard was a longtime friend. We went to Elementary and Jr. High School in the same grade together in the City of Carson. We also played Little League baseball.. He ended up playing football at Carson High, which was our cross town rival, Banning High. Banning ended up winning 6 Straight L.A. CITY Football TITLES back then. I'll never forget the day I heard Mark was murdered at his Compton Car Wash. Stunned!! Everytime I look at Kawhi, I see Mark. It's uncanny. That is definitely his son. Which totally makes me smile.😁 Just so sorry that he can't share in his son's superstar success. Peace and Love to EVERYTHING that Kawhi is involved in. I wish him all the best. Thank you for living on with an exceptional career with you father's name. It is so cool watching you in his memory. Continue to make him proud. And thank you for continually entertaining us to no end. Hands Down (no pun intended), the Greatest 2-Way Player in the NBA today. God bless you Kawhi!!

    The parallels he had with MJ is quite astounding. Basically same height and build, with abnormally large hands, didn't make the tryouts albeit for different reasons, murdered father which until now remains unsolved, winning finals MVP on father's day. Plus, they are 2 of the best 2-way players of all time. The biggest difference though is that their personalities are almost exact opposites.

Shout out to his father for real for being a great father. I respect him to the max as well. It is sad that he is no longer with us. It's great that Kawhi has made his father proud. Kawhi has accomplished great things. He is a former NBA champion. It is very possible for him to become a 2 time champion this year. He will go down in history as one of the best players of all time. Straight up and down. I commend Kawhi for not being a bragger and not being flashy. People who really have abundance or riches don't have to brag. Kawhi and the Raptors are going to beat GOLDEN State Warriors in the Finals. Kawhi wants his revenge against GSW. They injured Kawhi after they figured they could not beat the Spurs while Kawhi was playing. Spurs would have been in the NBA Finals that year. KD would have looked bad for getting beat by the Spurs on a super team. Warriors and KD are scared to play against Kawhi.

    Actions speak louder than words, they always have, they always will. Thankfully, Kawhi's father had enough time to instill a work ethic in Kawhi that is worthy of helping influence the direction of every young person today. I'm a Raptors fan, and after seeing him at the end of the Hornets game, standing with team mates, smiling and applauding his team on the floor, I really hope he stays. @@NBAInsider I enjoyed getting to know Kawhi a little bit. Usually when i hear something about a player it comes from the bias of another sports figure who acts like they know more than the other 3 or 4 people at the desk, or the player him/herself. Why do these news shows and pregame shows(NFL in particular) need like 4 5 or 6 explayers and coaches to say basically the same shit just using different words anyway?Its all scripted, so give all the pages to 2 guys and let them read everything. Back on topic, I know they have facts and stats I don't but it just gives some of these people the opportunity to praise the almighty state of California and in the same breath mention Toronto like it's an old nuclear testing site. I just hope Kawhi's father also taught him to recognize and enjoy a good thing when you've got it. Kawhi will go to no other team, with T.O.'s potential or more and be the king. He'll be in some other hotdog's shadow, always, the hotdog will see to that. More money, brighter lights? Perhaps, at the cost of losing your own person. Obviously , this is my biased, but Kawhi staying in Toronto will keep his soul solid and have other elite players on other teams look at their surroundings and maybe think , "this place sucks, and most of these people are no good pricks!"
      One topic I really would like to see covered is the intro of the 3pt arc into the league. The reasons for and variables that affected the decision making. I only remember the NBA with the arc. In its day it would seem to me that a 3pt shot would be a pretty big deal, with the steadfasts saying it will never work and so on.
      Anyway thanks for replying because I have no web site or facebook shit so I didn't even know if by comments were even viewed by anyone.

    It's a quite a trip seeing this. I went to elementary and middle school with Kawhi. I didn't really interact with him much but I usually saw him on the black top doing his thing as a 8 to 13 yr old. Everybody that played with him or watched him as a kid knew he would do great things. I just think it's pretty awesome to see someone you saw pretty much everyday as a kid to be living out what a lot of people saw coming and believed in. I was so happy to see him on the front of my newspaper when he made his presence known in the nba. You could feel the excitement and all the love our city had at the moment. I never rooted for the spurs or raptors but man how could I not. It all feels like something out of a movie with a hometown hero feel. All in all I'm pretty blessed to step on the same courts as he did all those years ago.

    Does one have to talk all the time, express their emotions every minute without people leaving them alone, jeez. This man is so humble, a warrior, a very good player who does his part of the job. People are judging not only him, but others usually. It is disgusting. Instead of embracing the person for what they are, they are making fun of him. Stay strong, Kawhi.

      @TP-SeriesI guess you are right! But hE has to improve his 3p shooting and become a better stealer!

    • @vdLeo-je6os
      @vdLeo-je6os 5 лет назад

      @TP-Series You misunderstood! He is a great player but he shoots a lot 3p! 237/643. Joe Harris has 183/386 3p, Danny Green 198/435, Danilo Gallinari 161/372 are more effective 3p shooters because they don't shoot a lot! He has to improve his %. Luka Doncic is also another future super star!

    He's the kind of dude I respect the most.
    Not flashy, not an attention seeker, just gets on with his business..
    So sad injury has robbed us of seeing him as much as we should have.
    Don't know much longer he will stay in the game due to his injuries but I'm appreciative of what he has done..
