I have these in my house. I can report with complete accuracy, rarely do we ever see any bugs in the house anymore where we had big bugs running everywhere at first. We do not us pesticides in the house at all. It is my understanding that these devices do not work instantaneously. The repelling nature of this device, from what I have read, you might compare to someone standing outside of your house smacking a tire iron against a flag pole day and night. If you can't stop this aggravating racket (not any normal insect we know of can pull these out of a socket), eventually you will pack up and leave. One of the problems with the above experiment I see is that there are several variables that are not controlled. Because the bugs are not being controlled in terms of which ones can go and which ones can come, some maybe leaving and not coming back. Some of the one we are seeing maybe new ones that are showing up and not to old ones we thought we were seeing. Lastly, because of the first thing I mentioned if the way this product works as I mentioned in the beginning, 20 minutes may not be long enough to elicit a response from the bugs sitting on the wood around them. They may simply need more time to get sick of the "electronic irriation signal" that is designed to drive them away. These thoughts are for your consideration. That is it.
No problem. You've got me thinking now. A good way to test something like this would probably be to have the one of the electronic devices on one end of a large container, room, or long tube where they are visible and seen over time insects (roaches in particular) move to the far end away from the device. Something like that may be close to what should be done. I know it can be hard to perform test under ideal conditions and build what is needed. You almost need materials and space like the myth busters lol!
I suspect that the one(s) you have may work on insects over time, but mice, much like raccoons and honey badgers can be super determined and relentless animals. It would take a more specialized device (if it's possible to make one) to deter them regarding sound frequency etc. I doubt very seriously that what is used to deter insects based on sound frequency would do the same to rodents as you are saying here.
I made a test of my own which I think was more effective. I had two ants in separate locations, one in my living room and the other in the kitchen. I had one of those plugged in a kitchen outlet while my living room was devoid of any. The ant in the living room behaved naturally, doing a few circles, locating where to go back to. It never stopped moving as ants don’t take breaks. It eventually ran off in pursuit of its peers. The one in the kitchen however, that was a different story. I had it isolated on my kitchen table. The bug repellent was about 10 feet away. I immediately started noticing the ant to “groom” itself, or rather it’s antennae. It took pauses, sometimes as long as 15 seconds and just stood there. After it finished skulking I saw it walk in different directions, but remain in a certain area. It seemed to have lost its ability to communicate and find its way back. I noticed a lot of distress with it. Now I’ve heard plenty of people displeased with these types of products but I have a feeling it works only with time (even though my ant subject was immediately affected by it) since it took a week or two for the ants to finally leave my kitchen. Though I can’t guarantee effectiveness for anyone I have certainly seen that it does indeed mess with the ants’ hearing/signaling. Both ants were 100% healthy when I did this test.

do these emit the same ultrasonic frequency as ultrasonic audio recording jammers? I know my neighbor has been recording me and I want to buy an ultrasonic jammer but I am afraid it could hurt the ears of pets in the building and I don't want to risk that, I just want my privacy back.

I saw one video where one insect repelle was open up, and there is only a chip with lights, no wonder some of these things don't work. This might be something to go further and see what would be the brands that actually works.
The reason why you seen 10 reviews and none of them actually pluggin in the device is because it takes WEEKS to actually work. Doing what the creator of the video did is equivalent to taking a fly swatter outside waving it around and then scratching his head and wondering why all of the bugs didn't die/disappear magically. lol. Its like turning on your AC and then after 20 minutes you wonder why your house is still hot. LOL. AGAIN these are for ROACHES/Ants NOT flys, nats and praying mantis's. HAHAHAha
I’ve never seen a good review yet about these pest repellers. So how in the world are they still selling so many for all these years???? So can we make a device that doesn’t work, sell it and not have any consequences? Just curious, because if that’s the case, I’m pretty sure I can come up with a non working item that everyone wants.
Your test Is logical but won't work here, Insects navigates by light, i.e. from the stars, moon and sun so It is a instinctual behavior to seek the light, that's why you see them swarm around and around the hole night, they can't leave! Their whole navigations system is based on these glowing points.
The light is as the sound a instinctual part from evolution, where sound is there method of navigation, sound is there warning signal, but to get away, they navigate after light, so bad circle:-)
But, this device is for closed spaces use only.... because the "ultrasonic" effect feedback in a closed areas like the kitchen or a room. The ultrasonic loss itself in open spaces.... almost that say in the use instructions...
Try it yourself before taking a single review that seriously. These things will take a couple weeks before they'll be effective. The moment you see mice in your home, it means they've already been breeding for at least a few months in places you can't see, and it'll take some time to drive them all away. My brother brought one of these ultrasonic repellers years ago - an old brand - and for years we saw 2-3 rodents when there would've been dozens otherwise. When he left our apartment, the mice came back in huge numbers several months later, and I didn't know why until I realize that he took the repeller with him. I'm getting one of these myself in a couple days. Mouse traps aren't going to help you when the mice have already invaded and left faeces and germs all over your house.

It's an ultrasonic speaker. No matter how it's powered, it will do the job. Think about it. If you can't plug it into a strip, you can't plug it in the wall, well, if you can't plug it into the wall, the electricty must be different at the power plant. Failed logic.
Some say that one needs to wait 1 hr or 1 day or 1 week for this device to perform well? But why? What is the difference? What's the logic behind that behavior? If bugs or dogs can't stand the high frequency sounds then they should go away immediatly.

This guy obviously doesn’t know how this product works. From my understanding the waves are supposed to bounce off the walls creating a barrier to drive pests out. It’s not the same if you just hang this thing outside.
Everyone here is saying you have to wait a couple of days for it to work 🤦🏻♂️ Do you think bugs have a sense of time? Either the ultrasound works at repelling them or it doesn't!

Most pest repellers work by creating sounds through the electrical wiring in your house. So mice will be able to walk up to it and bugs will fly around it but once the bug is in the wall they will hear the sounds and run away.
You can't put something's choice foods in front of an electronic repellent. It will do anything to get that food. It'd be a lot different if you just used it normally. YOU NEVER LEAVE OUT FOOD AND WATER FOR PESTS, THAT IS THE NUMBER 1 RULE!!
I really think the people who market products like these that do not work as advertised should be criminally charged and sentenced to significant jail time.
i think it works more as a barrier. like the signal goes through the electric lines in your house preventing them from coming through the walls into your house. i dont think it just drives them away...i could be wrong though

Yes, every repeller I’ve seen on Amazon has great reviews because they sold a different product to get good reviews, so that they can sell these repellers because there’s no way in the world these would ever get good reviews by themselves. It’s like 95% of these on Amazon was once a different product
Not enough time...Thats like taking a fat person to a salad buffet and expect them to start losing pounds INSTANTLY!!!...plus ITS A LIGHT...regardless how hard you try they are still gonna want to come to the source that attracts them...
@Norwindian Compare it to staying in a "no sound" room. Are you bothered by it instantly or does it take you a while to get annoyed? Or compare it to someone pinching you, can you tolerate it for 20 secs to do something you like or would you stop doing what you like instantly because you're annoyed? From what I can tell, these "tests" are inconclusive. In his first video he already had a mice infestation, and he tried using the ultrasonic pest repeller to keep the mice from food. ruclips.net/video/Kx0OkA5pP68/видео.html He mentions "there were several nights when the mice did not show up for the almond butter, after a FEW nights they did." Are you going to starve to death or are you going to ignore the ultrasonic waves and go get a few bites to survive? #survivalinstincts Now in this video he just tests this in an area that attracts bugs, the lights at night.. He should've first gotten rid of all the bugs, put the repeller there for 1-2 days, come back and see if there are any bugs that still roam the area. None of these repllers claims to be 100% effective, even bug sprays that people spray on themselves when they go out aren't 100% effective. What I'm just trying to say, I'd like to see some better tests, not just someone taking a couple hours to put a video together.(although appreciated) A test over the course of a few weeks.

blarrrgg I was just about to say the same thing. That’s like using two medicines to combat a runny nose to see if one works. You might dry up the snots and never know which medicine did it. You might continue to have snotting because of drug interaction.
good point!
Why would you put outside when it says for indoor use? Of course its not gonna work and definitely not in 15-20 mins
*thats complete bs* These ultrasonic repellers tell you it will take a month for it to start working, which is completely false! this is just to wear out the warranty, and infact, it should be less effective after a month because even if ultrasonic actually worked, it would only be a temporary annoyance to pests.
Thank you for exposing this products as scams. I was interested in them, but suspicious about them, so I'm glad that I found this video. Thanks to this video, I won't be wasting my money on these scams. And please everybody!!!... do not buy this products, they're SCAMS.
You said it
They do say it takes 3 weeks or more to work and they bring more out before they go was that included in the test also?
my impression is that those instructions are aimed at keeping you from returning the ineffective gizmos
I heard people say something like it takes two weeks or something and there's no pest left, can that be possible? Is it normal if they're gone in that much time?
That seems like hype to me. I've had them on in my shop for over a year with no results
@@metaspencer Thank you for replying, what do you suggest as one of the best options to get rid of these? there was a big spider crawled in my home and last seen in my living room somewhere and completely missing.
@@zeeshansyed511 The best method is cleaning, especially vacuuming, to keep all bugs away. Spiders eat other insects so removing as many as you can from the home will help. Good luck!
@@metaspencer Thank you

do these emit the same ultrasonic frequency as ultrasonic audio recording jammers? I know my neighbor has been recording me and I want to buy an ultrasonic jammer but I am afraid it could hurt the ears of pets in the building and I don't want to risk that, I just want my privacy back.
That sounds like it would be worth trying, but I doubt that most of these devices emit anything at all
metaspencer lol. I wonder if trying to record audio would reveal whether they're emitting anything at all. there are also lots of repeller apps that let you set the hz too. I don't know if they're reliable against pests at all. I played one at a mouse in my apartment once and he just looked curious.
Damn, son, u legit had me worried my phone speakers were broke.
hahaha ... yup
Says right on the box "for inside use only". Because the sounds bounces off the walls.
It didn't bother pests inches away, what good an echoed wave will do.
Right then to top it off he has it attached to an extension cord....
Source?
@@albusdumbledore1940 It's on the back of the box. My mom bought a pack of 6 from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and she said she hasn't seen any roaches, pincher bugs, etc since then
Doesn't the add say it takes a monthly to get rid of pests
Wait a year and it still won't work
@@metaspencer well the darn trap aren't working either 😕
I’m seeing so many mixed reviews!!!! What’s the truth?? Does it j take time for them to work?? Is it that they shld only be used inside??
What I see when I read the reviews are a lot of paid, fake reviews as opposed to actual tests
does it work even if it's in horizontal position?
dexter anglo no. The directions say it must be vertical.
@@ScienceisRadAF ok. thank you pretty girl ☺️
Not even if it's vertical sorry you have to try returning it and buying good ol bait.
It didnt work for me indoors. I used more than a month but no change. Then it stopped emitting light as well.
Such junk. I know
I was about to buy it, but then I search for reviews. Thank you for the info.
Oh yeah
we use a bunch in the house. we dont leave peanut butter out. I use multiple pest control methods, no one works entirely. not sure about insects- I have recently employed a cedar oil product . as with any poison keep away from domestic animals and place where intended animals may only reach.
Sounds like you're taking care of the problem!
metaspencer, could you do an experiment to see if there's any reduction over an extended period of time (say 2 weeks to a month)? It would be interesting to see if that makes a difference.
That's a good idea ... thanks for the tip and I'll try to put it together
These ultrasonic repellers tell you it will take a month for it to start working, which is completely false! this is just to wear out the warranty, and infact, it should be less effective after a month because even if ultrasonic actually worked, it would only be a temporary annoyance to pests.
Thanks for the review. It helps a lot for those who are planning to...
You bet!
Thx so much guys. I was gonna buy these crap and wasted money for nothing
I always knew this product will be junk. My neighbour brought one and yea. It sucks! I warned him not to purchase it.
Yep
Finally, after 10 reviews that only film a pluging in the device... this is the kind of review that is worth a look and like! Keep it up man!
Thanks!!
I saw one video where one insect repelle was open up, and there is only a chip with lights, no wonder some of these things don't work. This might be something to go further and see what would be the brands that actually works.
Wow. That’s crazy
Im pretty sure its for roaches
The reason why you seen 10 reviews and none of them actually pluggin in the device is because it takes WEEKS to actually work.
Doing what the creator of the video did is equivalent to taking a fly swatter outside waving it around and then scratching his head and wondering why all of the bugs didn't die/disappear magically. lol. Its like turning on your AC and then after 20 minutes you wonder why your house is still hot. LOL. AGAIN these are for ROACHES/Ants NOT flys, nats and praying mantis's. HAHAHAha
Why did you use 2 at same time? Maybe those 2 devices working together isn't appropriate
You said it ... too many of us want an easy solution that can be simply bought. The bugs continue to win
Your test Is logical but won't work here, Insects navigates by light, i.e. from the stars, moon and sun so It is a instinctual behavior to seek the light, that's why you see them swarm around and around the hole night, they can't leave! Their whole navigations system is based on these glowing points.
A powerful repeller would, in theory, overpower that light-attractive instinct ... but it doesn't seem that powerful
The light is as the sound a instinctual part from evolution, where sound is there method of navigation, sound is there warning signal, but to get away, they navigate after light, so bad circle:-)
@Fried Mule Stop it. It just doesn't work.
Stop trying to come up with these ridiculous rational explanations.
Mine made a huge difference.
The Challenge with your test is that the instructions say it takes 24 hours, try it again for 24 hours.
Oh we’ve tried for months! No difference
*thats complete bs* These ultrasonic repellers tell you it will take a month for it to start working, which is completely false! this is just to wear out the warranty, and infact, it should be less effective after a month because even if ultrasonic actually worked, it would only be a temporary annoyance to pests.
Ty. Plug in wall unit in the house not on a strip.
It's an ultrasonic speaker. No matter how it's powered, it will do the job.
Think about it. If you can't plug it into a strip, you can't plug it in the wall, well, if you can't plug it into the wall, the electricty must be different at the power plant.
Failed logic.
Does it work for mouse
no. total scam
Some say that one needs to wait 1 hr or 1 day or 1 week for this device to perform well? But why? What is the difference? What's the logic behind that behavior? If bugs or dogs can't stand the high frequency sounds then they should go away immediatly.
I agree ... these things don't seem to work at all, in any conditions
*thats complete bs* These ultrasonic repellers tell you it will take a month for it to start working, which is completely false! this is just to wear out the warranty, and infact, it should be less effective after a month because even if ultrasonic actually worked, it would only be a temporary annoyance to pests.
This guy obviously doesn’t know how this product works. From my understanding the waves are supposed to bounce off the walls creating a barrier to drive pests out. It’s not the same if you just hang this thing outside.
These arent meant for exterior use. They need walls and a fairly quiet environment to propogate.
Everyone here is saying you have to wait a couple of days for it to work 🤦🏻♂️
Do you think bugs have a sense of time? Either the ultrasound works at repelling them or it doesn't!
My perspective is that they're just junk. That's it. Junk
... he probably is not lying , but how do we know the extension cord is no plugged in ?
They won’t work outside as well as inside I would think
I need a good insect repellent, which one should I use?
I haven't found one of these electronic gizmos that works at all with insects.
It says not might get worse but then it gets better give it 3 weeks. If you put peanut butter in front of me I’m wasting too 😂
I love how all audio cuts out about a third of the way through the video and yet he is talking to the camera like there is working audio, then it picks back up at the two third mark only to cut out again a few minutes later... 😅😅😅
RUclips copyright violation for music silenced that section
@@metaspencer At least they kept your subtitles, I lost subtitles once too, or rather, if subtitles are made by the algo before music silences you, then captions will never get made.
While it sucks, in a sense you got lucky.
As someone who's owned a few different kinds over past 20 years, I can attest to the fact that none of them work for insects.
agreed
Did any of them work for mice?
Your sound went out in the middle of a video for quite a while I don’t know what the deal was with that
Sorry! RUclips muted it
You are supposed to use these devices inside, it clearly says it on the instructions lol. These things work, as soon as I turned mine on in my back room all of the ants, bugs, and everything started leaving. Buy the Wildjue ultrasonic one on Amazon

When i bought mind i was told they wouldn't work outside..i mean it make since...u can contain the sound outside and isn't the sound supposed to radiate throughout the walls
Its gotta be that USB port on one of the units that are keeping them around. Have you ever been in an airport. And seen even people flock to those things.
hahhaha! for sure!
These devices have been TESTED by men in their own garages, set up to voltage meters, and they do NOT work and they do NOT put out a frequency.
THANKS YOU... I SAVED MY MONEY
AHMED KHAN they are for indoor use and take 2-3 weeks to fully affect them. This video proved nothing.
bugs say party on XD
Do not forget bugs and flies are drawn to light.
Why oh why I didnt see this vid before getting my first dissapointing ultraworthless pest repeller... but this video clearly answers where all those positive reviews come from...
So true. Thanks for checking it out
It says it takes 4 weeks, so try it for 4 weeks not 10 minutes.
Do that test a 4 week test please.
Different bugs each day but I see your point

pretty sure it says wait a few weeks for it to work
Your audio cuts out from 1:00 to 2:16. Looks like it's right when your background music starts and stops.
Yeah copyright strike … bummer
@@metaspencer but your point remains solid and I **JUST** told my buddy not to waste his money on ultrasonic repellants.
Thanks for the video.
@@samgod good choice man
You have to give it a couple of weeks to see results from what I read. It is not instant
lol bullshit. Try it on a dog, and he hears it instantly. Sound travels fast. It shouldnt take 4 months for a creature to HEAR the sound......! LOL
The only reason you have to give it a couple of weeks, is so that you can run out of the return policy after it doesn't work.
Hahahhahaa
I’m a pest professional and I’m sorry but these do not work they are the silliest gimick
Ruben Echegoyen hmmmm can you elaborate briefly?
I also don't believe in this Ultrasonic things, a lot of people using it here, against digging mouses, but it don't work 🙈😂
Most pest repellers work by creating sounds through the electrical wiring in your house. So mice will be able to walk up to it and bugs will fly around it but once the bug is in the wall they will hear the sounds and run away.
This part ‼️
I used the repeller and it kept my girlfriend away.
Exactly what happened . They screamed and sounded like they were fighting each other to get out my kitchen.
Some of those look like bed bugs crawling all over, I'd be worried about that first.
Scary!
So it's a scam?
Seems like it
not a scam, i started using it and ants are leaving and bugs in my back room. Buy the ones on Amazon with good reviews.
Does it work for cockroaches and crickets?
I doubt it
metaspencer in my mind... I expected these bugs running for their lives when they hear the sound. In reality, it will be me running 🏃♀️ to kill them.
Haha ... yep!
Yes, it works for roaches. I tested everything with bugs, mice roaches. It only works for roaches.
Ronald D. I will try, hope it works also for roaches
What about spiders?
You can't put something's choice foods in front of an electronic repellent. It will do anything to get that food. It'd be a lot different if you just used it normally.
YOU NEVER LEAVE OUT FOOD AND WATER FOR PESTS, THAT IS THE NUMBER 1 RULE!!
Nice music in between !!!
haha ... thanks!
Thanks for posting this video. You've just saved me money!
you betcha
Thanks for taking the time and posting the videos on ultrasonic pest repellers
You betcha!
mine seems to work
Mines to this people's houses must have bad infestations
They do not work! I have them and bugs are crawling on them.
Hahahahahaha.
It's 4am and i can't sleep
I really think the people who market products like these that do not work as advertised should be criminally charged and sentenced to significant jail time.
Yup. Total scams
i think it works more as a barrier. like the signal goes through the electric lines in your house preventing them from coming through the walls into your house. i dont think it just drives them away...i could be wrong though
sounds optimistic ... but I just don't think so. in my tests, the bugs stay
well then..they suck haha
After I bought when three week, the device battery dead. Then I change it new quality battery. But device don't expell mouse. Definitely don't recommendation... I have my youtube channel video
I was just looking into repellers found out there are sonic versions and under one top-selling device for 2019 I've found under the comments they are mentioning shears mostly, which is very suspicious. it's the DDUAN 2019 newest pest control ultrasonic if you're wondering.
Yes, every repeller I’ve seen on Amazon has great reviews because they sold a different product to get good reviews, so that they can sell these repellers because there’s no way in the world these would ever get good reviews by themselves. It’s like 95% of these on Amazon was once a different product
Oh no the pest control thing took half of the videos sound away
Yeah, something RUclips sometimes does
Great thorough video-- good job testing the units. Thanks
Thanks for checking it out!
In his first video he already had a mice infestation, and he tried using the ultrasonic pest repeller to keep the mice from food. ruclips.net/video/Kx0OkA5pP68/видео.html He mentions "there were several nights when the mice did not show up for the almond butter, after a FEW nights they did."
Are you going to starve to death or are you going to ignore the ultrasonic waves and go get a few bites to survive? #survivalinstincts
Now in this video he just tests this in an area that attracts bugs, the lights at night..
