Cheers! Jeff
Hey !! Hi Jeff !!! Great list !!! Other than those we both picked, I like most of your choices: THE POLICE: Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland are amazing musicians !!! My top 5 Classic Rock Albums From England 5. Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 4. Rolling Stones Exile On Main Street 3. The Beatles Abbey Road 2. Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti 1. The Who Who's Next
Glad you are back and some good choices there. Here is mine, in no real order with the exception of the top three. The Who Pink Floyd Jethro Tull Genesis The Kinks Cream Dire Straits The Beatles Spencer Davis Group The Zombies Shout outs to The Rolling Stones and David Bowie as well.
My favorite 10 are definitely not the best 10 but these are the 10 that have brought me the most joy. 1. Oasis 2. The Smiths 3. The English Beat 4. The Police 5. The Cure 6. Placebo 7. David Bowie 8. Bush 9. Slowdive 10. The Beatles
Good list citehman !!! Really like "Slowdive" !!! Their sound is very original and "ambiant" which I love !!! Also really like "The Police" (especially their first two albums), "Oasis" is fine too !!! "David Bowie" almost made my list (love his early stuff) !!! And of course, I love "The Beatles" !!! Thanks !!!
Welcome back. Good list. I have U2 on my others list just to make it easier. 1 Iron Maiden 2 T Rex 3 Black Sabbath 4 Judas Priest 5 The Rolling Stones 6 PiL 7 The Clash 8 Led Zeppelin 9 The Pogues 10 Sex Pistols
Hi kiolasmash !!! Great list !!! Love or like most of your picks !!! Great choice for no.1: Iron Maiden is one of my "very favorite" Metal bands !!! Also love The Sex Pistols !!! Also like The Pogues and Judas Priest !!! Thanks a lot !!!
Merci !!
Do you like Hockey ? did you ever play in high school and do you root for the Montreal Canadiens? how much snow did you get Monday February first and how much snow did you Sunday the 7th? I think the Hendrix experience is Seattle like Ac/dc is Austrilian even though the Youngs are from Scotland ? 10. 9. Yard Birds 8.. Who 7. Kinks 6. Rolling Stones- I Like Paint it Black 5. Beatles these guys are great but there not heavy or exciting. they may have been exciting in the late 60's like 67 but the other 2 bands which are basically the same time period are heavier. when I had time Monday I pulled out some records like Van Halen 5150 , Kinks Celluoid hereos , Journey Escape but I didn't put on any Beatles Kiss yes. 4.. Def Leppard 3.Black Sabbath 2. Judas Priest 1 Led Zeppelin 1? so what made you decide not to include Judas Priest , Iron Maiden, Def Leppard ect? as you can tell i'm an 80's guy when it comes to music which is kind of funny because when it comes to tv shows i'm a 70's guy, movies The Exorcist , the Omen, Halloween, Serpico , Looking for Mr. Good bar, Dog day Afternoon trading cards love the 70's my top 3 favorite design is the 1973, 1975 , 1972 I like the 1979, 1978 favorite baseball cards 70's I like the 80's to same with tv shows I like the 80's but i'm more of a 70's guy except music kind of funny isn't?
Great list Mark !!! Wow !! I think we matched on 7 of these 10 bands from your list which is excellent !!! Now I like Heavy Metal ! Not as much as Rock bands from the 60s or 70s butI like it !! And the thing is there are so many great UK Rock bands I found it "very" hard to choose "only" 10 Rock bands !!! Now for hockey, I used to be "such" a big fan in the 70s when the Montreal Canadiens had their "superstar" team with players like Guy Lafleur, Steve Shutt, Jacques Lemaire, Larry Robinson... But those good old days are gone now and hockey became a "big" business, a matter of "big money" and the Canadiens have no "heroes" anymore in their team !!! The last "superstar" we had in Montreal was Patrick Roy (famous goaltender) but since he's gone I lost interest in hockey !!! I also used to be a big fan of hockey cards in those great years but not anymore !!! For baseball, I'd never been a big fan !!! Sometimes I enjoyed it "live" at the stadium when we had our team the Montreal Expos (since then they moved to Wasington) but not that much on TV !!! I agree with you for movies, I'm a 70s fan too !!! The best decade for movies in my opinion !!! Some of my favorites are "Jaws", "Carrie", "Close encounter of the 3rd kind", "The longest yard" and so many others... So many great horror movies too like those you mentioned: "Halloween". "The omen", "The exorcist"...Ok, now how much snow do we have in Montreal ? I don't know exactly !! 1 ft ? 2ft ? Maybe 2 ft ? All I can say is there always "too much" snow for me haha !!! I live in a basement and I can't clearly see outside cos there's too much snow against the window !!! I hate winter so much haha !!! Thanks !!!
@@rrrockfrog2702 I'm to a Montreal Canadiens fan I remember those players plus Serge Savard , Cournyoier , Jarvis, Gainey great team that's my team I also have hockey cards of them I have 2 stacks, Guy Lafleur is my favorite hockey player, Robinson great players we had. as far as snow Monday in lower state New York 337 miles south of you we got Monday the First 15 inches of snow around there yesterday 3 inches. the 7th.
Well I just wanted to mention some of my "very" favorite UK bands like Rock, Heavy Rock, Bluesy Rock, Pop Rock or Psychedelic bands ! I'm more selective about Prog Rock music (except for Pink Floyd) but that being said I like some of the early Genesis stuff and I have a lot of respect for Peter Gabriel ! He was pretty original and unique and those costumes he wore on stage had something entertaining and theatrical !! Thanks Violin fathin !!
Yes of course !!! I mostly know their hit songs and popular albums like "Deep Purple in Rock" and "Perfect stranger" !!! I recently listened to their debut album which sounds very different but still nice !!! Thanks !!!
Glad to see you back too. I've been away because I've been moving. Great video, Marc. Thanks for uploading. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Stones, The Who, Yes, King Crimson, The Police, Iron Maiden & Judas Priest!

Have you ever heard a band Called Deep Purple?
Yes of course !!! I mostly know their hit songs and popular albums like "Deep Purple in Rock" and "Perfect stranger" !!! I recently listened to their debut album which sounds very different but still nice !!! Thanks !!!
Alongside zeppelin and sabbath, they were the unholy trinity of heavy metal
