All your reviews about this car are very accurate, I have the latest version and I have been able to improve it by changing the variator so that it can operate with 3s batteries and it lasts much longer. The finishes are spectacular, its operating lights and the sound make it the center of attention of all eyes, the first day I broke the servo and had to change it for a 13kg metal one as well as a 25T aluminum servo arm. This Humvee has incredible stability and strength that makes it climb hard to believe slopes, mine without battery weighs 6 kgs. In my modest opinion, it is a car for driving and doing kilometers on trails, and with 3s batteries you can spend a lot of fun time in the field, If you want to see my Humvee, on my channel I have it on its first outing to the desert and in "action", a friendly greeting from Barcelona, and congratulations for all the information that you put so well structured. By the way, we miss more of your videos! ;)
Great input! I will defiantly check out your videos. I will do more, Im just obsessed with building up my new Colnago C64. Once thats done, I will get back.
the stock rig is water proof, but if you get the sound equipped, I cant say the sound kit is. The Traxxas Titan that I put in it, I would say yes, is water proof, I have the same motor in my TRX4 and have submerged that a few times without issues. I have not submerged the HG-P408
I know exactly what your talking about and the motor is not the issue. If the battery is very low, the motor would cut out but everything else is working. So it kind of depends on what battery you are using. I use a goldedt 6200 mAh three cell racing lipo battery and it has a lot of charge. I highly recommend it.
the Hobbywing 3660 is going to fit in the space, but the issue your going to have is the OEM motor used a 3mm shaft dia. but your 3660 is using a 5mm shaft dia. so the OEM pinion gear isnt going to fit. I dont remember what the pinion gear is, Id have to look in the user manual to get the specs on it so you could look for a replacement. I put the hobbywing 1080 in with a Traxxas titan 550 brushed motor, everything fit perfectly, and I can run that with 3s
Cyclonautvtrider1 I have decided to upgrade my car with the racestar motor pack 3660 - 2700kV and Esc 80A, I will monitor my car for a while. thanks for your advice
I'm going to be fitting a brushless motor and esc In mine because everytime I've used brushed, the motor fills up with mud and dirt 😂 All of my crawlers run brushless so this will get the same treatment 😎
Excellent - I figured that would work, but I have burnt out some stuff (mostly lights) by making bad assumptions. Thanks for taking the time to respond - much appreciated.
I think something can be done to lift this rig. I am not exactly sure what, if you just put larger tires on it, they will rub when you turn. a lift would be needed. I havent looked enough to try to figure one out though.
There is no indication at all of the number of turns. it says it rated as a 12K RPM motor. then the box also says its a 5465 RPM motor. All I know is its a super cheap motor. I found it on a site called wl-toys.com. it is an $11 motor for the HG P801 P802. So, Im not shedding any tears for replacing it without needing too right now. Im sure some day I would have too.
interesting! Maybe with more 'usual' electrics the drain will decrease also. I'll watch tonight at home (can't listen at work, only watch and maybe find out.
Awesome man I love what you did with it! Looks super cool and we both put the same set up in LOL. I'm impressed it did that trail. I thought maybe I was crazy and put my stock ESC back in and it just burned up! I can tell you love this truck I just got the new one you gotta see it, it's fing AWESOME Bro!! ruclips.net/video/db7TRCYnMc0/видео.html
thanks. The rig did some tougher sections of the trail, the camera battery died. I was able to climb one part that others couldnt only due to the weight of this rig. I was also used as a tow one one section where I pulled 4 rigs up by backing down the other side. I felt like such a fool after I figured out the battery in the rig was my issue, Im just so used to running a battery for hours in the TRX4 that having one go dead in 30 min is unusual.

How many mah 2s are you running?
the 3mah was the typical battery i would use. i want to use a 5200, but the box just isnt big enough for the battery and the wires.
@@ccdbcvtrider1 damn i have a whole stack of 5200 to 7100mah 2s hard case packs i wanted too use too
@@timmerz8569 well, if there is a will, there is a way. im sure a 5200 could fit, just need to find the way.
Do you think the stock ESC could handle a 45t motor? Or even 35t...
I do not know the answer to this, Im sorry.
@@ccdbcvtrider1 no worries, thanks for replying in any case. I enjoy your content, keep it up 👍
@@HarmanMotorWorks yeah, wait a few days....I got something wicked cool coming.
Is the motor it comes with water proof & is the replacement you used water proof ??

thanks, Ill look into those batteries
Is there a servo saver that you or anyone could recommend
not sure it would fit.
Can this basic car be upgraded to a motor brushless Hobbywing 3660 - 3200kV and ESC 120A, 3s battery? Thank you very much

If I get another one of these, I will go brushless as well.
Howdy - when you replaced the stock motor with the TRX4 21t motor, how did you address the fact that the TRX4 motor is a reverse rotation?
I am able to reverse the signal from my Spectrum Dx4s transmitter for Ch2. or one could simply reverse the power cables going to the motor.
Excellent - I figured that would work, but I have burnt out some stuff (mostly lights) by making bad assumptions. Thanks for taking the time to respond - much appreciated.
Do you think this can get a lift to it by raising suspension or body to put bigger tires?
I think something can be done to lift this rig. I am not exactly sure what, if you just put larger tires on it, they will rub when you turn. a lift would be needed. I havent looked enough to try to figure one out though.
I've lifted the body 5mm by simply fitted old bearings as spacers

It's very good video!! Have u try to 3s after upgrade the motor ??
I have not. I am itching too though. I bet it will be a beast

interesting! Maybe with more 'usual' electrics the drain will decrease also. I'll watch tonight at home (can't listen at work, only watch and maybe find out.
personally I think the sound kit is the source of the fast draining
Nice...

Should of went brushless 3s
I could still, nothing needs to be permanent.
@@ccdbcvtrider1 true but now u have to do it twice!
@@mr.sinister1279 If I decide to. So far I havent seen the need to.
