i marked where i wanted the center of the wheel, drilled a hole and used a nut and bolt that fit. the tie downs are for show. i have 4 small eye posts and the small bungee to make it look like their holding it down

Honestly, I have not heard those sounds out of mine at all. I know it had a horn, I disconnected that right off. I am sorry, but Im unable to help with this one.

I honestly dont know what broke it. to keep up with the guys, I drive this over stuff it really shouldnt. the video i take is usually the easy driving stuff. if you keep it on trails, you should be fine, others in the group break stuff a lot, none of us are easy on our rigs.

my guess is that you have the lights plugged into the wrong channel. not sure though, you can review the book that came with the 408, see where it was plugged into and compare that to how you have it now. its going to be a trial and error test. Youll get it figured out, i have faith in ya.

you need to see if the servo died, I suspect thats what really happened. you will need to pull it our and test it. and since its out, replace it with a stronger one anyhow.

The servo still works for sure. I would turn the wheels and when I turned the battery on it would self center. What servo do you recommend for this heavy beast lol?

​@@JeepBrohey bud. Just because it centers does not mean it isn't busted.... Counterintuitive, but it happens, even on my SCX10iii it happened last week

Yes, the 2sp trans is separate from the motor. the spring you see in the video is the tensioner for it. youll be all set

@@JeepBro yeah, go back and watch my first vid on this rig, I took the Rx out of it and used my Spektrum DX4s channel Trx

the 3mah was the typical battery i would use. i want to use a 5200, but the box just isnt big enough for the battery and the wires.

@@timmerz8569 well, if there is a will, there is a way. im sure a 5200 could fit, just need to find the way.

first, the fusion motor fits just fine, no problem. second, the speed, im seeing it run right about the same speed as before. running the 3s and having it in second gear will help a lot with the overall speed as you know. if your motor isnt dying, its not a requirement to put in the fusion motor, but if you do put one in, i do suggest this fusion motor.

Yes, I want to put in the fusion motor at some point this year but still run it on 2s with a Dean connector (I have an adapter) so hopefully it is just how I hope.

@@jameshouston5940 you should have no problems with that plan. one thing to keep in mind is that the battery wire on the humvee is an extension, so as you mentioned the adapter, you will use that adapter to connect the extension to the fusion's cable. itll all be good.

Hey it’s me again it’s been a while and I wanted to give you an update on my hg p 408 it is no longer in service. I took it to Catalina and many things broke and the transition stopped working. After that I got a trx4 defender sand color and it’s been working fine for 6 months and I just recently gotten a hg p 415 in red and all ready added all new electronics and science some of the parts on the 408 still work I have sooooo many spare parts and it’s been good and I am going to get a trailer and tow the trx4 or the opposite I just love people like you who respond to all questions in the comments so keep doing it

yeah, no battery. it takes a deans battery. I will measure the rig

the rig is 18" long. 8" wide. wheelbase is just a tad under 13". and it weighs almost 14lbs with what i have on it. its a beast

It was around $800 for me at the time. I am not sure what the situation will be now.

i could have gotten the part from them, but it was convenient to get it from ebay as well. The truck is pretty rugged. you just have to remember its different from the Traxxas rigs so it needs to be driven differently. I have a tendency to try driving it where it shouldnt

it is a wicked fun rig. definitely different from normal rc crawlers.

there is a youtube vid from someone else of the gearboxes, they are all metal and should last. yeah, I broke my axle on the front, but no damage in the gearbox. I think it can handle aftermarket motors, as that is what im running now and have been for a while. the steering servo, get the best one you can, these rigs are heavy. save up for the better servo.

@@ccdbcvtrider1 my new servo came today its the ecoboost 30kg one . Yea i know its really heavy so the stock servo really strugle and bigger tiers do not help😂 but now with the 30kg servo it steers like a dream. But its weird that every time a servo died it was outdoors then one day later i works again indoors atleast 🤔

@@rasmusbengtsson2787 that is interesting behavior for the servo.

Like every rig, it takes some tinkering. you also need to know its limits, an 8" wheelbase makes it very easy to tip backwards. I damaged the roof when it rolled back once. it has extremely high torque, 90:1 ratio, so you CANT drive it inside the house on a carpet, I did and stripped gears. It IS repairable, but you have to do it on your own, I fixed my gear boxes with replacements. I just had a rear motor pod slide out the lower Hull, I know that has happened to two other people on youtube. again, its fixable, and the new ones Sergey has been making shouldnt have the issue. I love the rig, it was worth the buy. I will be getting another in 2022 I hope.

@@bigalrc yeah, because replacing the gear boxes isnt much fun, it taught me a lot, but if you can avoid it, it would be the best.

honestly, I never actually tried to do the math to see how accurate any of them are.

there is a screw holding the hard plastic plug end together. take that off, take the plug apart. the wires are held with screw inside. get a plug end repair replacement at your local hardware store.then reassemble the new plug end. its super easy. 15 min job. if you need more help, let me know.

@@ostacruiser thats the other way to do it. they are super fun rigs. DONT drive it on a carpet in the house. I stripped gears in 2 gear reducers doing that. but luckily it is repariable.

there is a rather large (in my opinion) dead spot where the rig can roll forward or reverse before the drivetrain is engaged. that is your "slopp"

I dont know anyone that has a hard tail crawler. I think it would suffer with getting over most of the trails we do. As with the Sherp, in the video, you dont see many other guys where I was, even with the Humvee, I wasnt able to drive where they were. neither rig could do it. I have to stick to easy terrain with the Sherp and medium terrain with the Humvee(because it lacks the clearance that normal crawlers have)

@@ccdbcvtrider1 Funny you should mention it, but I ran my Fury with very solid antiroll and it climbed well.. I've since worked out how to maintain supple ride AND reduced roll, which is even better but on an incline, solid rear becomes less of a disadvantage the steeper it gets!! cheers 👍🍺🇬🇧

@@ccdbcvtrider1 well, try reducing the travel or increasing spring rate. As it approaches vertical, suspension becomes less relevant unless you're rock bouncing. The further the angle from the pull of gravity, the less the springs do... plus at up to the 45 degree mark, you're getting weight transfer that compresses the spring and takes more load off the fronts! or were you being sarcastic, it's hard for me to tell being on the autistic spectrum ⁉️sorry if you were being genuine 👍🍺🇬🇧
