  • Thank you for checking out Talk O'Tuesdays with Eric Bass, the bass player and producer of the platinum selling rock band, Shinedown, and John Guarnieri, the host of Spear Talk podcast. This weekly podcast came about after we recorded an episode of Spear Talk one night with Thomas Winterton (the superintendent of Skinwalker Ranch), where at the conclusion of the recording, Eric and I chatted for another 90 minutes about life and everything in between, with a lot of the time dedicated to coming up with a name for the show.
There is no agenda when it comes to Talk O'Tuesdays. We will cover a wide variety of topics to include scientific achievements, exploration, cryptozoology, UFOs, art, creativity, writing, mental health, farming, hiking, and just about everything under the sun. We hope you enjoy this weekly show and hope you get something out of it each week.
DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND READING TOO! We are two people just talking about life and our own personal thoughts in real time.
Don't be afraid to be the best version of yourself.

I love the openness to both sides the lack of *I absolutely have to be straight on this one side no matter what* it's refreshing to hear like minded opinions on these rather heavy subjects, and the chill conversations between you guys it's just awesome 💚✨️

I’ve stood where Eric is talking about. To stand in Nuremberg where Hitler spoke and look out into that empty field across the track. Imagining, people, soldiers. Gave me such an empty, uneasy, evil feeling. My father-in-law who lives in Fürth, explained to me why they keep it all. To remember what Germany went through. To never forget. To remind themselves how far they’ve come. Then I felt the gratitude. The respect. Still uneasy but I understood.

Another great episode, it was great listening to you talk about history and some of the places you've been. It is important to remember the lessons of history and grow from them.

Eric.. It's amazing that how different people's taste for music. You shouldn't think that you not good enough before you step on stage. I did listen to lots of songs from all the bands who you tour with...for my taste, Shinedown is the best.
I have more than 20 songs from your albums on my playlist. From other bands maybe 2-3. I was a pop/disco lover before, but ever since I discovered your band, I became a rocker 🤟🤟🤟
Similar to Papa Roach, but somehow still different.
My favourite badass songs are Cut the cord, Devil, Diamond Eyes, Enemies,
They all have really fast lyric lines /difficult to even sing it /, and then it's slows down. And the next verse is really fast again. That's the key!!! That's why I'm going crazy. Brutally good.
Your middle tempo songs are beautiful.
No matter what songs you and Brant will make... They all will be "Brilliant" ✌️✌️✌️

I know I'm much later catching up on these, but so glad I waited to start. From about April to August I have been in a darker place. Finally started feeling more 'normal me' and watching these makes me laugh and just feel good. I can't tell you how many times I find myself saying 'preach' to comments I've said myself on topics. Episode 9, the whole Basketball discussion is almost verbatim one I've said to people. MJ, Magic, Larry Bird and that era were truly players working as a team and not about ego. MJ has said he wouldn't have become so iconic with the Bulls if he hadn't had Pippen and Rodmen. When Kobe, Shaq, Meta etc started it became a "look at how awesome I am because I make all the points". This is why I switched to Hockey. It's always a team effort and way fewer egos. Plus takes Way more skill to be 6'5 on thin metal blades, on ice skating backwards at high speed, and your net comes with a guy pretty much blocking it. Oh yeah and the puck and stick factor is more difficult too!

I am pretty good about not worrying- but when it comes to my son, I fail big time 🫣
Great episode! Politics suck. I hate being used as a pawn in their big game.
Hate that I missed the group chat again tonight. Another rough night parenting 😢. Thanks for the wonderful distraction of my failing night. 😞 Tomorrow is a new day. 🙏🏻💜

I love when you can reminisce and look back on time where things were so different but enjoyable; Also, random when you delve deep into sports (ie. basketball or golf discussion today - kudos to eric and the ambidextrous skills), do you think there is an underlying theme across all sports - with players and the way they play? - if that makes sense; Thanks for another great episode John and Eric! Until next time

Those were the times in Charleston. I live in West Ashley now but was born and raised in mount pleasant. We used to play basketball in the park on orange Grove . The Gardens was the worst of the West Ashley area cause you can cut through it and get to the Mall. Mount pleasant has more racial tension than West Ashley and still is like that today. Those were the days. You can fight each other and live to fight another day.

His bass tech also sells Shinedown pics online......funny story, he said that he never has to change strings because the show is fake (prerecorded).
