Looked like a lot of fun wringing it's neck @ 9K RPMs and seemed to handle equally to the power... especially once you figured out stretching those revs between corners.. it really smoothed out. Nice morning drive!
So glad Misha got a run with another RX8, but my man, Misha... you HAVE to find someone (unfortunately I would love to lend you mine, but I'm in the USA) that has a proper suspension and tire setup. This thing corners like a beast on coilovers, sway bars, and wider tires. A few things to point out, there are some differences between the Series 1 and Series 2 RX8's. Amongst them is, the Series 1 transmission was not as good as the series 2, 4th gear grinding was very common. Series 2 transmission can bolt up to a Series 1, and gives you better gearing, keeping the Series 1 Diff and whatnot at least in my experience of doing the swap. I'm curious how how the coolant got during the lap. I'm sure oil temps were fine because it comes with 2 very good oil coolers from factory, it's coolant you need to be wary of... if it reaches 100C, you risk coolant seal failures.
@@richardggeorge coolant seals are not the same like headgaskets on piston engines, they are much more fragile, made of rubber like material. Hey! Owner of an S1 RX-8 here! I was asking myself the same thing, what about coolant temps on the ring? Bcs I have mine built for going up mountain passes and still it struggles a bit even with a custom re-map, Mishimoto fans and a bigger radiator than spec. With that, respecting warming ups and cooling downs and proper oil and sparkplugs changes you have a car as reliable as any other. Enjoy it!

SS brake lines (stainless steel)
better pads, you do not need a big brake kit for the rx8
lightweight wheels - 245 wide tires or higher square stance
premix the engine with 2 stroke oil at all times and make sure engine oil is almost full, you will guaranteed burn half a quart on the ring
you could get go poly bushings everywhere
shocks and springs ( do not make the car too stiff, it doesn't need it - the chassis is very very rigid as is)
If you absolutely wanna squeeze more power, then get headers, catback and a streetport but that is very $$$ and what I mentioned will get you 25-30whp easily
these engines are a nightmare to get passed 210whp without some good internal work

LOL i had an RX8 too and the 4th gear was also "crunchy" :D
@misha justice has been service. Thank you 😌
That sound, oh my god, you just can't get enough. It just sounds phenomenal.
My 2006 rx8 231 , i miss you. 😢
I love how the subtitles just reads 'music' when the lap begins
As someone who used to own a 2004 RX-8 GT and loved it (I miss it), this made me happy. Slow as balls but "felt" so good.
LOVE seeing normal every day cars driven on the ring!
I must say, and as far I got "ear", this young lad has great radio voice
Good on you mate . Great driving. The RX8 is a great fun chassis and the 13B engine can be intoxicating and a lot of fun revving out especially with a cold air ram intake and exhaust.
Most intake mods do more harm than good, the airbox setup from the factory is excellent.
@@ItsamenotMario yes true most of them are less efficient than the factory intake but racing beat put a lot of research into theirs which is quite a noticeable improvement over the standard box intake , especially with the added ram air affect over 80kmh
The way the car keeps its trajectory surprised me A LOT, even without very good suspension and tires… That’s impressive. Seems to have a very good chassis !
12:15 - 3:07 : 9min and 8 seconds BTG.... wow, what a pilot
This went better than your own lap, James, saw you on the other RUclips channels doing a pretty spin! 😂 Great that you guys got a lap in! Greets from the blue BMW!😊 😊😊😊
Fantastic, I'm so happy to hear from you Bois again. It wasn't my proudest moment in the other video 😂
20yo car and still looks beautiful (and more modern than most cars that age). Still remember when I first saw that car in Underground 2... good memories!
I had a chance to drive one of those years ago and they are definitely fun. No torque but revving them to the moon is a lot of fun!
The Rx8 chassis is really good.
Misha, you make me a proud RX-8 owner! "Go Brap-Brap" (as you wrote on my engine cover at ShedFest). 🙂
Guy never stops smiling. Misha or the car? Probably both!
Both were on top form that day 😂
Glad you figured out the beeper and kept it up there. I hope turning off traction and stability control fixed the grabbing of front brakes but you cannot turn off ABS which is no big deal. You need to come out to Australia and try Phillip island and bathurst.
that owner was so much fun!
Wow so nice sounding car, just dont check gas consumption, and nice camera setup, keep it up. InitialD feelings here.
I would make it an MFGhost car 😂
For being mostly a stock car this looked like a lot of fun. I hope the owner keeps taking good care of it.
Love vids like this, that dont show rich boys and thier toys.
Awesome dude with awesome car 🔥
Nice! I miss my 8. Yeah for sure you want to keep the rev over 6500rpm at all times at a track. The more rev, more power!
Perfect chassis for a little alloy block, dry sump LS
I had a new RX8 when I was 21. Had a lot of problems with it and lost a lot of money on it but it was a bloody great car.
Another great lap, Misha! Please bring back the feet cam. Thank you for the amazing videos! Greetings from Bulgaria!
Nice car! And also nice to see a young guy not pulling out his phone to film 😎
Loved this video! The owner of the car was a hoot! 😂
Just need a video of a track prepped rx8 now! Wish I could ship mine 🤣
Brilliant cars these. Super fun even as standard!
I had 2 of this mazdas and it was my dream and my nightmare when I owned 😂😂 nice to see in your hands Misha.
Listening to that RX8 scream at 9,500 rpm reminded me of my NFSMW 2005 days. Ah. Those memories. ❤
Rotary engines love high revs they can go up to 20000rpm😊
Overtaking the GT3 in the RX8 is so hot 🥵 Misha is the man!
man I hope misha finds a well built rx8 because it is very underrated australia and japan are the only ones that give the chassis love
RX-8: flies at 9000+ RPM

Couldn't agree more🔥
As a former RX-7 owner, I too love the noise!!!!
Simply glorious!
Nice break system warning light at 5:29 😅
I'm super impressed. that engine sounds about as healthy as mine and mine's only got 30k miles on it.
Sunrise, greenery and high RPM. Perfecto
I know the RX8 are terribly unreliable but GOD DAMN THAT ENGINE SOUND is awesome!
I remember being at a car show where they first introduced the RX-8. It was such a spaceship back then and I guess it still kinda is!
A lovely sounding, smooth revving Wankel, what a delight
