These movies incorrectly portraying the green berets just adds to their mystery
Yes i have worked closely with the green berets and i can tell u the results are exiting but the methods arent as cool as they portay it or like this guys sais
I highly recommend the book "Horse Soldiers". Excellent take on these events.
This makes me feel good when I pay my taxes and know people are out there doing freedoms work.
same
im a high school sophomore and when i was in 8th grade one of them came to my school and answered questions for our communications class. amazing guy
Machine gunning on horseback was totally legit.
-a civilian who’s never shot a machine gun
Lol I was cringing at that even the Polish in WWII dismounted to fight on foot hell in the Civil War even General Buford understood horses are nothing more than just a means of getting someplace fast.
@@rc59191yet the us marines used a horse to not only deliver ammo supplies to shooting positions on mountains but also string communication wires together. The horse was trained to get low from incoming fire and hide in bunkers during artillery attacks. Using old school general tactics that are useless nowadays makes no strategic sense. They’re more uses for horses in a battlefield than just getting places faster. Every person familiar with the military knows this.
Pat was my favorite Punter on Madden. Hands down the best.
Why does the guy in the corner by pat look so pissed the entire time
Amazing sound, much higher than others, its awesome ty!!
The book was great. Depictions of the forced hypoxia on the trip in and the conditions in the air and incredible.
This is awesome , I’m shipping out next month .. aiming for the green berets
Your most likely not going to pass especially because you don’t even know what being a solider is like, but hey best of luck. The army definitely needs people to take the big step into group
Jonathan Hunt 😂 youre not wrong but seesh shit sounded painful
exactly what i was thinking lol, i mean good luck but as a fresh private even if he passed selection they want people with military and combat experience most of the time and it doesn't sound like he studied up on what being SF is like lol
Josh Harrison actually y’all are dumbfucks and don’t know shit about sof. Majority of sof including army sf is taking right out of osut. Even seals, pjs, and cct’s. This kid has a better chance then any of you
Josh Harrison you don’t know what you’re talking about. Sf loves fresh joes. They are Easy to mold and train vs habits
I’m sad that all these men died in vein. We pull out of Afghanistan too soon… the war was lost. I tiered up at the end of the movie because i knew the sad ending… God bless America 🇺🇸
I just watch the movie, then I saw the team picture at the end, not 1 Black guy among them, I was like WTF! Why? in movies like this, please have the correct type mil spec/personal portraying the real life characters in the move.
Exactly, Willie. It makes me sick to see Hollywood bowing down to the black man in the name of "racial equality" or whatever. There were NO black guys in ODA 595, only White guys. The movie should have honored that.
@@mesabman I don't know who's sitting back making those decisions, but it's not the Black man, he isn't the one making them do it, was there an Spanish guy on the team? but for films like this, they should have it right, I'm surprised there wasn't an LGBTQ person on the team
My Father, Navy Commander Watanabe was in charge of the air logistics of Afghanistan and the ability for B-52 to be overhead 24/7
Ground linkup was Jack Idema.
They never talk about the Air Force combat control who actually called all the air strikes in ?
Guarantee that was some Hollywood producer thinking the general movie going audience is too stupid to understand the concept that different branches of the military often work together with they're conducting secret squirrel ops
Seems like it's still okay to like 12 Strong. It's right up there with Band of Brothers, Black Hawk Down, and Generation Kill for me.
It's not like I'm liking The Hurt Locker or something.
nah 12 Strong was nowhere near as good as those other 3
@@MichaelDelvalle-nt4gp Yeah, I will say that 12 Strong didn't have something that those other 3 did. I think it's because 12 Strong was touched by the DoD, and thus neutered of dark humor and didn't effectively show the microhistory of the War in Afghanistan.
@@roadhouse6999 that, and the firefights looked ridiculous. it just seemed fake as fuck
Watch Act Of Valor..
@@MichaelDelvalle-nt4gpthere were some goofy moments but they were nowhere near fake
Do green berets get to do the cool stealth missions or is it all teaching gigs?
I think their mission is mostly to act as advisors to allied forces in other countries. Most of their missions remain mostly as teachers but I'm 100% sure they do other clandestine shit they cant talk about.
@@AznGamingNation1140 That is what the berets say themselves too. They go in and get the locals up to snuff to fight their own war, by being billy badarses themselves. They are cross trained on EVERYTHING, each other's jobs, weapon systems, enemy combat styles...everything. I forget where it was, Spike's Deadliest Warrior maybe? But a rep from the Berets mentioned that they hardly ever even wear armor unless it is a straight destroy mission, and even then it is rare.
I call dibs on first comment
First. You guys are awesome!
Just stumbled on this video and channel. Good stuff... BUT... do something with that damn studio lol. Jesus depressing dark boring... dress that thing up with some color, hide those damn wires and light it up a little..
Wow.
That answered none of the questions about the film. Clickbait
Kam as kam 50% hi such dekha dety
Accurate? There was a black soldier on the SF team in the movie. There wasn't one in real life.
James Quinn Jesus! That’s your only assessment from the film? What a world we live in now. :/
The movie also have a Latino guy.
Political correctness sucks.
If it really matters then they should have just had the dude's play themselves
Clint Eastwood tried that, didn't work out too well.
@@billedwards735 The man made a valid point about a factual error, what is your problem?
