Been watching for quite a few months and I’ve gotta say it’s so nice to watch a retro game channel that isn’t super overproduced like most are these days. Reminds me of the good old days when you could find quality content and people weren’t focused on editing for viewer retention and getting the most views. And I always love how you actually play some of the games that you picked up, makes it more engaging to see what the games are like. I have a good feeling you’re channel is going to blow up one of these days. Thanks for the entertaining content, looking forward to the next video!
Thanks for watching, Luke! Yeah, I experimented in my last couple videos with more heavily edited intros but they were annoying to produce and I don't think it actually helped me get more views or anything, so I'm just going back to basics for now lol
@@collectorjohn9538 nothing wrong with that, I think your channel thrives in having that sort of homegrown Midwest feel so you could definitely get away without a ton of flashy edits. Either way though it’s good content.
I miss the days when I was a kid and my mom would let me pick out one 20$ game from the pawn shop on payday, this was almost 20 years ago before youtube and everything blew up, I would go to the gamecube/ps2 section and just look at game covers and pictures on the back to figure out what I wanted to buy. this is how I got Time Splitters 2
Went to this location for the first time ever on Monday because of your videos. Got 2 games 2 DVDs and a carded Yoda figure that I had as a kid. Really enjoy all the videos!
Mannnn 🙁 The future for physical stores is not looking good! Like you said , it was nice to just be able to go to a video game shop and look at stuff on a bad day.But now with the digital world we are headed to, I'm happy to have been able to experience what going to a video game store felt like.... I feel your saddness about your store closing!!! Sucks 😢. Screw digital games, Buy physical games
Nice pickups! Reservoir Dogs looks fun! It's always sad when your favorite game store closes! Brick and Mortar stores are fading away in favor of online and it's a bit depressing that it happens! Great video and keep up the good work!
This was the location I bought my PSP from. It was seriously like new, still in the box, with all of the inserts and stuff for only $75. It sucks how many places I loved are gone now. I mainly went to the one in Brown Deer, so with that area, I was kind of already used to disappointment though, I guess
Man that's a shame! 😢 We have hardly anything here in Scotland if you're not a fan of Game and CEX there isn't much else! I'm desperate to find independent game stores near me
I went to Mega Media Xchange all the time when they were up here in Green Bay. Unfortunately they also closed years ago. I ended up than going to GB Games here, and they too closed both their east and west side locations, which sucks.
F.E.A.R. is an absolutely AMAZING Game, My favorite for the Generation for sure! most of 2007-2009 was spent with a buddy and I playing Multiplayer every night. I could probably still run Rubble in my sleep. The campaign is Top Notch! I have played through 15+ times, and Alma still gets me at the top of that ladder every time.
FEAR was the one title of that haul which he got at a fair price. I've never jumped into that series because I never seem to find the first entry at used game stores - only the second and third. Same with Condemned Criminal Origins. Always see the second game on shelves but never the first.
There was one in Grand Chute that I use to get games and CDs from. Great selection but the staff at that location weren’t the nicest. Sorry you are losing a place you enjoyed and hope ya find a another store that is enjoyable :)
You should ask the store for some store specific signage (you could use it in your gaming space(s)) because it will all be getting disposed of. It would make for a good keep sake/momento.
Hello John, For a future video upload, have you considered discussing or thinking of playing games that are from the Neo-Geo library? There's plenty of fun games to try and I think would be fine edition to add to your channel and enjoy what they offer for the gamer to experience . Anthony...
@@collectorjohn9538 I would say, around 2007. The Mega Media Xchange by Southridge Mall also closed around 9 years ago, and all the inventory got shifted to the Brookfield one. There is also one in Hales Corners on Hwy 100, but it's so empty inside. I honestly don't go to many video game stores anymore. Dying breed.
great video , I do have an question , if I do get first gen of LCD instead of crt will the games look great too for xbox og or ps2? ( asking due of high weight of CRT...)
Great game F.E.A.R., very nice price too. I grabbed #3 for $10 recently, but I've yet to play it, 2, or Files. Very sad to see a local store go, we've lost at least 4 in the last few years around here. I got a bunch of 360 today, but Split/Second for $5, Silent Hill Downpour for $49, Spiderman FoF for $19, X-Men Origins: Wolverine for $25 being the highlights. All prices in $CAD.
@@collectorjohn9538 Edmonton, AB. We've got: -Nexwave Video Games -Final Boss Video Games -Game City (4 locations) -1 Flea Market -2 Antique Malls and a few other hit/miss shops, thrifts, pawns. It's a jasper motherboard which is super reliable in terms of red ring (Jaspers don't red ring) but this one has a bad disc drive. I just prefer the look of the original model because that's what I had. I still have a slim as a backup though
Thought they were just moving? I was in Milwaukee last week and stopped in there before dinner across the street on Wednesday. I tried to make a purchase but he wouldnt take my card. It was like 45 bucks and he said he had a $50 limit... Oh well, i tried.
Yeah, two of their locations are closing actually :/ the one in Brookfield will remain open That's super weird about the card, I always pay with card and make purchases lower than $50 usually
Across the nation, gaming stores are closing. Guess why? Amazon has swallowed up so much retro inventory that they are forcing these places to close. So to everyone who thinks reselling doesn’t hurt the community, remember this video.
Man, I really hope that game stores don’t end up going the way of Blockbuster video any time soon, but kinda seems like the writing is on the wall… hopefully there will still be enough of us physical collectors around in the coming years to keep some them from becoming dusty relics of a bygone era. Sucks to lose your LGS, but hey, at least you snagged F.E.A.R. for a great price! 😅
Yeah, in this specific case the building owner sold the building so a luxury hotel could be built. I think it would have stayed open otherwise, but it still sucks.
@@collectorjohn9538 That must have been it!! Great video sad to see another fall I was crushed when my local game store closed it was called Game X Change.

Really well done video brother, thanks for sharing!
Holy smokes, thanks Phoenix! You're one of the RUclipsrs who inspired me to start making videos haha

I lived RIGHT next to that store in 2017 :( sad to hear it's closing.
Wow we had one of these in Poughkeepsie NY (upstate NY) but it closed a few years ago. They had an OG Xbox for $35 and I regret not getting it.

The Franklin location is shutting down as well. Picked up project x zone for 3ds for 62

@Collector John yeah there so few. Basically gamestops, mega media, and that one in greenfield I can't think of atm.

10% off 🤣 Knowing how overpriced that chain is, nothing less than a 70% clearance price to start with would suffice.
Most likely only 10% off since they’ll just move the inventory to the other locations
Vote differently, just saying.
