I would like to make a correction to your video. Only the Xbox 360 marketplace is getting shutdown. The online service will work and you can download games you downloaded previously through your download history.
so glad i got Eternal Sonata and Project Sylpheed back in the day. both are phenomenal titles that stand easily against today's titles. still play both over and over again. always wished for a 60fps update for Project Sylpheed though on the back compat lineup. it's combat is still better than modern space games i've played.
I'm going to argue with you on Chromehounds. It's a dead game, can't even be played past the training missions. It's future value is pretty much zero. It was a great game but it's been dead for nearly a decade now.
Nice video. I've been buying 360 games for the past 2 months, getting ready for the marketplace shutdown. 5 more digital-only titles, and another 20 physical and I'm done! I'm not a big collector. Just buying what I've always wanted to play. I've always had a big soft spot for both the PS3 and 360. :)
Likewise! Especially the digital, I hope before the time comes to release a video about digital only games in the 360 marketplace to grab before it's too late, especially "Guardian Heroes".
I started really collecting 360 games about a year ago and already some have gone up in price quite a bit. Anything anime/japanese will do really well. There are already games floating around $100 cib. Once the 360 store goes down we will really see prices take off I think
For racing games besides FM 2-4 there are also Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4, Ridge Racer 6 and Import Tuner Challenge that are exclusive to the 360. The latter is already quite expensive right now for some reason. And PGR 3 and 4 are very good games. It's a shame that the PGR franchise wasn't continued after them.
Eternal Sonata is one of my personal favorites in 360 era growing up. I never had a chance of playing the PS3 version but I know it had extra characters you could play with a different ending. I really love the combat with the RPG elements with challenging bosses. Worth playing and story is very touching. The story is about a dying composers dream. Base off a real event with made up dreams
Xbox 360 should have a sale for digital games and dlc already. They do it for xbox one all the time. Or maybe they’re expecting that people are willing to pay full retail prices on those games. Who knows. I hope they do give us a notice if they decide to put up a sale on the xbox 360 marketplace.
Some 360 games are raising right now. To collect efficiently start buying Wii. People are giving them out. It was the NES of millennials and gen z. When nostalgia hits good luck
Watching this video today and these games went up for sure you were right. Eternal Sonata is around $100 sealed and there's only one for sale on ebay US version.
It’s never to late to add physical games but if your talking about the digital version yes it will be to late if you don’t act fast and go buy before July 31 2024 I don’t see anyone complaining to stop the store from closing
I love the 360, so many great games. I just hate the hardware. I don't trust it, and it sucks. I have so many games just sitting in boxes because I don't even want to pull my console out for fear it's gonna fail lol. But man, what a great generation!!
if your model is the white one, then it might but the slim ones are great. mine overheats way too much, I haven't opened to clean it ever since it was bought, like 10 years ago, still works great.
@@supergarbagedaypodcast No joke. Got a 360 “slim” in mint condition (I took a chance since the fan vents were completely dust-free) for $25 at a thrift store, it even had the Kinect. Only thing missing was the hard drive, which is fine as it’s a back up. I can still use it though with just its tiny internal memory and one of those silly xb360 memory cards…
Just bought a Xbox 360 today from my local retro mom and pops locally owned store gear of war edition for 120$ and picked up a bunch of games and definitely going to get more. Very affordable and such a great catalogue of games. It’s 3am and I’m grinding lol 😆
Wouldnt say "never too late" games like fatal inertia which were cheap as chips are now going for hundreds of dollars. I got it sealed a couple years ago for less than $20. Going for like $300 now. So some games may be around but too stupid expensive to buy for people just wanting to play them.
Chromehounds was an online only game, and the servers were shut down in 2010. All you can do is now play the tutorial, which is cool enough....but the game itself is gone.
Great question, and I have an answer! So when Dark Souls first came out I didn't want anything to do with it, actually it seemed like I would hate it. But I ended up picking it up in a 360 lot a few years back, giving it a chance and now it's one of my favorite games.
Spot on on all of these, especially Culdcept saga. A few months later, July 2024. Found several culdcept over $100 US with a few on eBay under 50.00, but also in an auction. They will sell at a high price.
Culdcept saga going for $130-150 three months on at the end of May. Another few that are over $100 now several months prior to store closure are Fatal Inertia and Infernal for some unknown reason. Both were between $20-30 in early April.
Kind of bad this dude has no idea Chromehounds was mostly online. The single player was basically a tutorial you played to unlock mechs. It was like 10% of the game. Don't buy it.
Monopoly: The Gathering sounds like something Arin from Gamegrumps should try. Btw., it's really sad that some lost games don't even get decent emulation down the line. If we ever hit some sort of point is society where we can just produce any console and game was it was originally (And they actually do it), I'd be amazed. I'd provide all the different dashboards/interfaces 360 had etc., revive servers, just generally lose them money.
