People who diss this show for being a crime drama oriented around school cases have probably never watched it. The writing in this show was brilliant and sent a powerful message to kids watching. Heck even now these episodes are still enjoyable. Thanks for putting this compilation together!
Oh, I'll grant that it's brilliant. Well written and inventive....but doesn't necessarily mean it's enjoyable. Not to me anyway. Totally understand why people like it...I just don't.
It had layers, and they occasionally used these schoolyard crimes to talk about real life ones. I recall one was actually a commentary on the three strikes law Bill Clinton signed into office.
Now I can see why it was canceled. With dialogue like this it won't appeal to kids. Also it's too clever! This show should be aimed at a more teenage audience.
this was a great show when i was a kid, i knew alot of people who loved it and got it. And yes it maybe it was canceled because the kids today and even teenagers of today wouldn't understand it because they're retards lol
I’m pretty sure the real reason is they ran out of ideas. Big shows like Kim Possible changed up the formula from one season to the next. Although well-written, Fillmore never strayed far from its method (nor did it feature one of them bright, popular color pallets). By the second season’s conclusion, it’s easy to see a mild depletion of creativity. While an excellent show, Fillmore simply never raised its stakes or expanded much on itself.
I never likes this as a kid, but not because I didn't understand it. It's not that clever tbh. It's well written, but there's no dialogue that's super heavy. I just thought it was boring.
Kayleigh Brown They cover some pretty heavy topics in this series, but I suppose they do take a somewhat light approach to them. It’s more about wholesome, professional drama than anything else.
I will say Fillmore falls short in similar ways to cop shows, while still being better because it's not about cops. Of course I don't know the economic makeup of X.
This show aired when I was in preschool, and I never heard of this show growing up (maybe because I didn't grow up with cable?). In recent years, I've been going back and watching shows I missed growing up. I think I'll add this to the list.

All memes aside ( and apologies for being and old man) it really is a little sad that millions of kids these days are going to grow up with their eyes glued to a Jake Paul video, when at the very least if they spent their time watching something like this they might pick up a few good morals here and there. Just these 5 or 6 random clips from this show could teach a young boi a lot about forgiveness, acceptance, individualism, and much more. What we need most of all in this social climate is to just treat everyone like a decent person. Overblown and braggadocio Internet personalities are going to come back and bight everyone in the ass real soon. I think Fillmore is the best example in my life of something I really, really liked, in spite of not getting the joke. The whole conceit behind Fillmore is a good bit of self-aware parody: Part of the joke is how seriously the show frames stuff like a model train crash, virtual pet theft and tagging. By transferring the tropes of hardboiled cop shows into a middle school setting, a lot of it becomes rather absurd (seriously, you can count on one hand the scenes where you actually see the students attending a class, you know, the thing you go to school for), and that's the joke. I had no clue about any of this when I first saw it, of course, and to this day I take it more seriously than I probably should, and love it all the same.
thats honestly why its so great. the show works both as a serious episodic show and a parody.the only thing its not so great at is being a continuityshow.aside from wayne and some references in the first few episodes(like,in episode 1,there is a small one to clementina being framed for the grand booktheft),one can basicly get everything out of any plot without knowing about the other episodes.i think the only two characters that played a semiimportant role in more than one plot are orgy and the guy in the library(dont remember if the show mentions his name or not)

We're supposed to remember our childhood as racist because it fits the current mainstream narrative. Society's MUCH more racist now because of this mindset. There was plenty of diversity back then that WASN'T forced in, which lead to incredibly underrated masterpieces like this amazing show.

Imagine you are Trump... you have all your father's money, you can start as many failing businesses as you like without having to fear losing your house, you can do whatever you want to women because no one ever believes them anyway and even when they do... you still get rewarded with the highest position of power in an entire country, you can tell people that you raping your wife was either a lie or impossible, you can tell people investigating you for crimes to stop the investigation, you can use the highest office in the land to help you get billion dollar trademark deals in China (this really happened, he has been trying to get a trademark in China for decades and it suddenly got approved when he became the president), you can funnel taxpayer money into your own pocket by forcing the secret service to rent golf carts/rooms from your company, etc. And people just go with it.
There's never any consequences, so of course he isn't going to change. In the case of Trump, you have to bring up the past because he never ever suffered any consequences in the first place! Once a person has served their time, then we should no longer judge them for their past, but Trump has never once owned up to his actions and taken the consequences. Therefore, using Trump as an example is not the best idea. A better example would be not judging a murderer who is released from prison, because at least then they experienced the consequence of their actions.

I had no clue about any of this when I first saw it, of course, and to this day I take it more seriously than I probably should, and love it all the same.
thats honestly why its so great. the show works both as a serious episodic show and a parody.the only thing its not so great at is being a continuityshow.aside from wayne and some references in the first few episodes(like,in episode 1,there is a small one to clementina being framed for the grand booktheft),one can basicly get everything out of any plot without knowing about the other episodes.i think the only two characters that played a semiimportant role in more than one plot are orgy and the guy in the library(dont remember if the show mentions his name or not)
It is super clever. Can't deny that.
@@lpfan4491 I think the only continuity the show has is the fact that Fillmore changed his orange fish (Thelonious) for a black fish (Miles)
