  • I've just received the email letting me know about the result of my application to train and register Momo as a PTSD Service Dog.
    Join me as I open and read the email live.
    I'm so hoping I get to have Momo help me through the PTSD. It would be great for him too, he seems so fulfilled when he's carrying out his job of supporting me.
    Watch the video to see what happens and join me in the emotional rollercoaster.

      Thanks so much. It all worked out in the end. Using the process we developed I don’t need Momo’s help anymore and managed to work through the trauma too. No longer qualify for PTSD. That’s the best outcome.

      Thanks so much for taking the time to write this. Even with the support of my doctor and counsellor and a psychiatrist I was declined twice frustratingly. On a positive note I got stuck into therapy, did some hard stuff (met up with the people involved with my trauma to talk to them about what happened and how it hurt me.) as well as a range of other things. These really helped and now I no longer have PTSD. I’ve recovered! This is what I really wanted. I do think applying was part of my journey though and I’m glad I went for it even though I got declined.

    Are there the same psd/ service dog laws in America that we should be aware of?

    • @AnxietySpecialists
      @AnxietySpecialists  2 года назад +1

      The laws in America do seem to be much more on the side of people having access to service dogs and even being able to train their own. Here only specific services train and certify dogs. So it can be very hard to access them. We also have a lot more restrictions on where you can take your dogs in general.

      @@AnxietySpecialists you have helped me SIGNIFICANTLY to be optimistic! Thank you 🙏🏻 🐶

      @@HalcyonoftheAurora Unless things have massively changed in America since when I was learning about it, I think being optimistic about being able to have a service dog is reasonable. It maybe challenging to get one through a specific organisation due to demand but if you are willing to train yourself that might be a possibility for you. Worth looking into. Your trauma is valid and you deserve support and resources to manage the symptoms and improve. You got this.

      @@AnxietySpecialists 😭 🥹🥰 👍 🐶 thank you for the support. I have a TBI that’s changed my life inside out. I recently found out about an adults with unseen disabilities group who may eventually be able to be a big help with this due to the fact that im both on the spectrum and can’t live a normal adult life bc of my disabilities- especially the tbi. I cant find out what the best place to start is to obtain one. It’s not real clear in what i have researched and im smart enough to not relay on my unempathic unprofessional and cold psych.
