  • I'm going to be challenging my anxiety about panicking in a crowd at Armageddon (New Zealand's version of Comic-con).
To do this, I'm going to go along, bust through some of my safety behaviours, and get some exposure.
We talk through the strategies we used to do this and you'll get to see how it went!

    Hi Becky!
I've just been looking at a few of your videos on PTSD, which I must admit I am not familiar with this condition, but this one, I am! And what you described in this interesting video fits me to the tee! I have been through all of those things and maybe a few other things/stuff as well relating to panic attacks, and this was all around that fatal year in my life ref blog catholic2007.blogspot.co.nz [the year in question being 2007] -a very significant year in my life, not so much because of the panic attacks, but the year i recovered from both serious depression and panic attacks. Yay! 8-) ...and the first time I was able to smile and laugh at anything for some 17 months! [I dreaded going to the supermarket...it was a real struggle, and I avoided anyone who might recognize me , like the plague, and avoided people in general!]
How things have changed since those days ... I have certainly made up for those lost years, big time!
It's funny/coincidental/whatever, that I should have bumped into you today in Lower Hutt, and I hope you were not having one of those nasty attacks as you were struggling with which pound of butter to purchase??? or was it the price of meat, which i have just been informed has risen across the board, because all our choice stuff is being shipped off to Communist China ant the expense of us humble kiwis! It was the second time I noticed you and your son on this
day, and as I passed your son in his shopping trolley, he kept staring at me, and I decided to give him a little wave ...he immediately smiled back at me...the cute wee feel, and I could not but help to audibly remark for his mother..."what a lovely smile from the cute wee fella!"
And that was how we met!
Then the 'Two little Dicky Birds' demonstration followed, the exchange of blogs ...a fairly quick chat about mutual interests in the 7deg C chill of that first real wintry southerly blast for 2019, and now my 'extended comment on your Vlog ( must stand for Virtual blog or Videoblog?)
Should stop for a cup of coffee, cappucino, perhaps in Queensgate, Lower Hutt and run through things we share in common regarding those things and why they occur, and what is the trigger for them, and why some people are not affected, and some are.... i have a few ideas on all those things, and enjoy meeting and talking to people who have been through, or still suffering from one of these ... in my interest in helping people to overcome their anxieties of whatever form it may manifest itself.

Hey!! Thank you so much for checking out our videos. It was lovely to meet you at the supermarket the other day. I think it’s so great that you have recovered so much from your past struggles. Keep smiling from your beautiful heart!
