32:20 If you take a closer look at Han trapped in the car, the image of him suddenly flickers. It was a hologram. My guess is the moment Han fled his fight with DK another car was remote controlled to look like he was driving while Mr. Nobody had him carted away. Deckard Shaw overheard the car chase on Tokyo's police chatter and timed his impact to hit what he thought was Han's car. But watching it all was Mr. Nobody and Han, safe and sound.
Fun fact about the scene with Young Dom and Jakob at the street race. When Dom says “I got next” he walks off frame and the camera focuses on three people and the three people happen to be Mia, Letty & Vince. I thought it was pretty neat!
And Jesse too.
There is also a young bald Latino kid who back slaps the back of young Jakob. I believe that is a young Hector from F1 and F7.

the only one that felt out of place in this one was legit vin diesel, dude was trying to hard for the type of movie the fast and furious movies are, everyone felt like they knew they were in a goofy af popcorn flick except vin diesel acting like if he was in a Chris nolan movie lol

My main problem with this movie was how John Cena felt wasted. Jakob didn't amount to much for the plot (aside from backstory) and the only fights he had were used to show how much better Dom was, which is starting to get old for me.
Just watched the film, biggest dissappointment, I saw that it was premiering on hbo, and thought "umm, maybe I could watch it, John Cena is in it after all", his character felt so weak compared to Hobbs and Shaw.
In 2022 John Cena's character in Peacemaker is leagues better imo. But he is the main lead in there anyways I guess 😅
@@ALEC-0126 That's cuz there is more range for his character from being goofy and show off to being cold blood killer, in the F&F franchise his stuck to a stereotype of being the little brother in the older brothers shadow.
Helen Mirren is in the movies, because in one of her interviews (I think in Graham Norton Show) she mentioned that she would LOVE to be in movie like Fast and Furious. And Vin Diesel then asked her to be in the next one.
So, the same way Paul Giamatti got into Amazing Spiderman 2...with about the same quality results.
Call me crazy… but I actually really liked F9. Felt like a bit of a return to form, with Justin Lin back as a director (and now, co-writer). I honestly never really liked F8, strictly because they really positioned that as prep-work for Hobbs and Shaw, and bending over backwards to make Shaw a hero, despite him “killing” Han. I always hated that Shaw was invited to the BBQ in that movie. This one felt like an answer to F8 (course-correction, maybe?), because if you’re gonna try to redeem Shaw, you might as well just bring back Han haha. I’ve always dug how much these movies just embrace the absurd, and this one just reeeeally wore it on their sleeves. Justin Lin really knows how to work with these/actors and characters, and I liked how he was able to split them all up and give them each moments to shine. The back-story for Jakob was stupid, but within these movies, I thought it worked fine. There was so much shit happening, I honestly forgot Hobbs and Shaw weren’t around, and that’s a good thing. Corny as it is, I like it better when the focus is on the family. This movie really was about setting the stage for the finale, and dammit, I’m here for it haha.

Still hoping they do Hobbs and Shaw. It might feel different from a typical Fast film but thought it was just as ridiculous fun. Spinoffs are also probably how the franchise will continue once the main series ends with 11.

The guys from Tokyo drift are all supposed to be just graduating high school that's the funniest thing about this movie for me the stress of senior year did something to them 🤣

Apparently there was another flash back scene from the first movie where Dom races Brian for the first time for his car & Jakob was watching from afar. But that never made the movie obviously. I thought that would’ve been cool as. Seeing that Jakob was there after he was told to leave
Remember how in the fist movie this was about street racing and actually had a plot that made sense? Those were the good old day.....
These movies have gotten totally absurd but honestly I am here for it. Not every movie has to be sensible. There’s something to be said for over the top ridiculous action sequences and cheesy dialogue.
I LOVE that in this movie they start to call out the weird sh!t that keeps NOT killing them...

I can forgive all the crazy incredibly unlikely physics-defying car-fu. But MAGNETS DON'T WORK IN REVERSE! They can only repel other magnets, not normal metal! Also every time the magnet pulls something toward the van, the van should also be equally pulled towards the thing!

I remember playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted a bunch in 2005. I had recently gotten my DL and was speeding around a corner when a cop was going the other direction. My adrenaline shot up and I dropped my car into 2nd gear and floored it. Pulled into a barn and parked and turnt my lights off and the cop drives by with his police lights on. Shit was scary and really dumb of me to do. Only time I reacted to real life situations from habits from a video game.

Grew up watching The first one in theaters. I did not think 1. It would end up being a long series lol 2.that cars would play a back burner and become a pure action series with craziness lol. 3. I didn’t think this one would be good but maybe it’s the huge budget, this movie actually was really entertaining, at this point it has become self aware of how crazy it is to me these things is what makes the series great. Also as always: RIP BRIAN! Damn you !
