Assalaam aleikum, Can you please make a video on how to become a gastroenterologist (course of study, how many years it takes, etc.), in shah Allah? It’s my dream job. I want to become a gastroenterologist, so that I can help others not suffer the way I have from GI ailments, in shah Allah. I want to be the doctor I wish I had for so many years. I finally have a good gastroenterologist now, and he’s inspired me to go back to school despite being a mother in my thirties. Jazak Allah khairan!
I think my chronic gastritis is one reason why i started to really dislike beer and alcohol about 20 years ago (after my ruptured appendix/peritonitis terror). I lived in Italy at the time, and stopped being able to have wine with dinner- it made me feel immediately dehydrated. Honestly, I’m grateful for this built in deterrent....it keeps my restaurant tab low, and my liver protected. The other things I need to avoid? I’m sure they will be much more challenging. BTW Doc- with your penchant for sound effects, I wonder if you watch Rick and Marty? IMHO With all the belching, Rick must certainly have gastritis, don’t you think?
I read you can’t drink much during meals, and you have to sometimes drink water that has alkaline or higher PH levels. Can’t drink until 2 hours after, drink slowly. Acid diet watcher is a great book too. Sorry edit: typos
This was awesome information for me....very helpful as I have the gas.. bloating.. distention..stomach bothers me after eating certain foods.....very helpful...thank you!!!!!;
Just think how good we’d all feel if we didn’t have a digestive system. I’ve had stomach aches off and on (on right now) my whole life. I’m kinda jealous of people who don’t have these issues, like my husband who ate a large popcorn at the movies yesterday! No problem for him!
I ordered an at-home test for H. pylori which many don't know can cause gastritis and 85 to 90% of ulcers. I eat a pretty clean keto diet with intermittent fasting for 3.5 years and in the last 10 days the only gut issues I have had in all this time. I got on keto to address many many gut issues and for 3.5 years no issues at all, even IBS has quieted down. So how did I get gastritis? I did have a respiratory illness Christmas week that last almost 9 days. Then a few days after that was the 1st gastric issue. I've now had 2 more this week. Doctor gave me a PPI to allow the stomach lining to heal and if that doesn't work, he'll get it scoped. In the meantime, I'm doing the at-home test just in case. He also said Covid can also trigger gastritis, especially the newer strains he has seen in his patients. I could have had Covid, it sure had all the symptoms of it the one time I had it. So I cut the dairy from keto to help heal and I also have cut out red meat and sticking with chicken for now. I'll get my fat macros from olive oil and avocados are still safe to eat.

I have read somewhere that too much stress and or anxiety causes vagus nerve inflammation or irritation.Question is what test can confirm vagus nerve inflammation or irritation due to stress or anxiety?And is this inflammation or irritation of vagus chronic or permanent? I am asking this question because after suffering a severe episode of extra high level continuous stress my stomach developed gastritis five years ago.My stomach function is just not what it used to be.Googleing around I have read vagus nerve damage can cause similar symptoms like that stomach disease called gastritis.And also vagus nerve directly controls main digestive functions of stomach like digestive acid production, stomach muscle contractions and stomach's emptying of digested food etc. So maybe in my case my vagus nerve got chronically inflammed/irritated due to excessive mental stress and that in turn caused my chronic gastritis with such symptoms like slower digestion,feeling pain and bloated after eating limited amount of food per meal.It does change like I can eat bigger amount of food when my gastritis clams down for about two or more months.And digestion also improves like stomach empties faster.But just the opposite happens when my gastritis flare ups.Like my food intake or portion per meal becomes very small due to increased gastritis pain also digestion slows down too.Stomach feels quite full and bloated even 3-6 hours after a meal of small amount of food. So what do you think what vitamins and or minerals can heal my vagus nerve fast? Personally I noticed foods rich in vitamin A, Magnesium, zinc, vitamin C makes my healing faster also those same food do contain other nutrients so the whole combination of nutrients of those foods probably plays a role in the healing process but I also have to make sure my mind stays clam for as long as possible.Stress just make healing delayed and increases the inflammation thus more pain for longer period of time.For some reason discussed above I think/suspect my vagus nerve damage due to excessive stress episode is the main reason that my body/stomach's ability to digest or absorb mental stress has broken down.Just cannot tolerate high stress situations without getting bad to severe stomach burning pain.
I read you can’t drink much during meals, and you have to sometimes drink water that has alkaline or higher PH levels. Can’t drink until 2 hours after, drink slowly. Acid diet watcher is a great book too
