Deep Deep Light Watercolor Swatching

- I created a nine half pan custom palette from Deep Deep Light watercolors and thought I would swatch them here along with10 generous samples they included.

Those colors are glorious!
They really are, something magical about them. Like some of them have a ‘secret’ color hiding inside the main color. And the samples are fab too. Definitely some there i’ll have to try.
*all inspired by people or nature- so right up my street with my tendencies towards picking things on my walks. 😂
@@context_curated Exactly, even the names are inspiring. It's even more special sharing same nature these colors come from it's like you're right there in the meadows and swamps picking bilberries and cranberries, finding a fallen jay feather. It's nostalgic in an indescribable spiritual way. Makes you want to paint that nature.

So tell me, between A Gallo and Deep Deep light, which do you prefer and why?
Hi! That's an intriguing question and not sure I can properly answer. I built my two respective palette with very different intentions. With A Gallo I went with a more standard selection with traditional mixing in mind. With Deep Deep Light I just wanted something fun and selected purely on what spoke to me. But in terms of quality, not sure I one is superior. They are both high quality, very easy to rewet and get going. Both highly pigmented and lots of pay off. They both seem smooth, luminous, and have depth- A Gallo has some dramatically granulating colors and Deep Deep Light have some very surprising mixes with interesting effects on paper. So, not sure I answered your question but I thank you for it, gave me a good opportunity to think about each of these. Thank you for watching!
