    Hello from Toronto Ontario 🇨🇦 Really enjoyed your video. I recently bought the entire eight sets of five colors each of these Schmenke granulating watercolors in pans in a single metal tin on Amazon. Cost me a small fortune but I've really wanted them for a long time now. I've been slowly swatching them but after viewing your excellent video I'll begin swatching with more water. Totally impressed by your swatching book. Best I've ever seen. Cheers 🫠

    This video is amazing, it is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for when it comes to the schmincke supergranulating colours! Finally someone who uses granulating colours the way they’re supposed to be used - with a lot of water. This video gave me exactly what I was looking for 😌
    If you ever decide to make a video with other sets from the same series, like Shire or Forest or Tundra, I’d love to see it!!

      Bazuta Art Studio That’s great! I look forward to seeing more from you since I really enjoyed the way you showed and presented the colours to really show off their potential, and explained how they work and how the pigments move in the water, and also showed what you can do with your brush to get different results when the colour dries. So thorough and interesting analysis! Plus, the swatches where absolutely gorgeous.
      I definitely look forward to seeing more from you in the future, so I subscribed so I won’t miss it if/when you upload a new video 😊 I hope you enjoy the dot chart! :)

    Thank you for the great video. Am looking for a color to resemble buildings blowing up for a rescue picture out of Israel I working on. Not sure which colors to use in the picture the dust is a blueish color. I hope I do the picture justice. It is an IDF soldier rescusing infant twins, they are asleep in his arms as he runs to save them. I'm so broken hearted for Israel they need lots of prayers. Your dog is adorable, he looks like a miniature Softcoated Wheaten Terrier. Ours just turned 4 yesterday his sister is a Morkie, more Yorkie than Maltese but they are pals. But the wheatons are the most amazing loving greatful dogs. My vet said ya gotta get one no other dog out there like them. Ya right I said. Now I say yes sir Doc you are absolutely correct. Absolutely NO Shedding, nice Soft Fluffy hair can tend to matting if not brushed often but other than that so glad we followed his advice. Just found your channel again thx. I subscribed looking forward to more.

    Love your swatches, but you did misread the PY43 on your swatches. PY3 is lemon yellow, PY43 is natural yellow ochre, which they don't sell as a single pigment. They do make raw sienna as a mix of PBr7 and PY43, which is likely what was used in haze blue. I've become a little obsessed with granulating pigments since the super granulation series came out, and decided to go the mix your own route, so totally geeking out on all this stuff! I agree the PG36 in haze indigo is a big surprise. Thanks for sharing.

      @bazutaartstudio  2 года назад +2

      OMG, you're right, thank you for pointing that out. I must not have had my reading glasses on lol. I have also become a little obsessed, I just order the entire collection of Schminke Super Granulating colours as a dot card. Can't wait to check them all out. 😁

    • @fionaj72
      @fionaj72 2 года назад +3

      I also made a mistake. The better combo for PBr7 + PY43 is raw umber, not raw sienna. I think it has more PBr7 which makes it granulating (raw sienna is not). Another one for my wishlist! Credit to @Alice Lim for figuring out that mix (and many others).

    I never knew that watercolors came super granulating! I’m such a noob 😂 this video was so nice, you actually got me to sit and watch paint dry. Multiple times!! 😆
    As someone who prefers painting portraits, I could see these being more enticing for landscape artists, BUT if used in a particular way, they could potentially make for good realistic texture on skin! (Not like those nothing filters that Instagram/TikTok is making people believe that’s what skin really looks like 😂)

    Lemon Yellow is PY 3 not P 43! PY43 cannot be found as a single pigment at Schmincke. However, it can be found in raw sienna (PBr7 /PY43), in yellow raw ochre (PY42 PY43) and in the granulating raw umber (PBr 7/ PY43). Schmincke can mix this well from the pigments themselves. For remixing, you could then perhaps take the raw umber, because PBr 7 is already included.

    Wild and intriguing! Nice musical choice, too. Your methodical breakdown of the pigments is extremely helpful. It looks like Schmincke takes a lot of extra trouble to get the finest grind on their pigments to get the dispersion veining so fine. Thank you. What kind of paper did you use or should I ask prefer?

    • @bazutaartstudio
      @bazutaartstudio  2 года назад +1

      I was painting on a cold press paper from Canson. Not a very expensive paper. the surface of your paper will affect the granulation to a degree but I have had granulation happen on smooth papers too. the biggest thing is water, the more water, the more separation.
