I asked my doctor to go off a statin after I found an FDA report that linked the drug to elevated glucose levels, type 2 diabetes, and dementia. He agreed with me and took me off the statin. After that I cleaned up my diet and now have normal glucose readings, and have lost 24 lbs.😊

Interesting about the subject of fasting, Fasting is another way of pushing yourself away from the table sooner, just by not coming back to it to soon. Fasting, I'm an old time Catholic. In my youth I learned there was quite a a number of days of fast and absences. Following that old code would trim you down. Today Once a week I'll go 18 hours without eating.(Sleep time counts.) This will usually clean my whole digestive tract out. Care should be taken with any diet.

When Doctors say "lose weight" they know what they're talking about. I was morbidly obese and had many health issues related to my obesity (Type 11 Diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure (210/110), arthritis and fatty liver disease). I had difficulty walking, and getting up off the chair. I have started exercising everyday (30 minutes to one hour walk everyday) and have lost over 130 pounds. I am now only taking blood pressure medication and my Cardiologist told me I may be able to stop taking my blood pressure medication. I'm 62 years old and feel g-r-e-a-t! My best advice is: lose weight and start walking. You'll notice a difference making gradual changes. Slow and steady wins the race! 😊🚶‍♀🚶‍♀

I’m in shock! Thank you for this. I would never ever have taken statins, and certainly stopped sooner when side effects started. Thankfully not on the other alternative medications either. I am so tired of unscientific guidelines being presented as factually based, and benefits being implied as important when the gains are utterly marginal. I have read J Fung’s books and watched videos of his for years and trust his words more than my doctor or UK NHS guidelines. The public expects the medical profession to act professionally, and what we get is organisational incompetence at best. Still shaking my head at how the lifetime benefit of statins is probably less than the time required to physically take the things. Utterly and completely Bonkers!!!

The number one key to longevity that most people don't know about is addressing trauma..mostly ancestral trauma which resides in our unconscious and affects our neurological, physical and mental health without us being aware or even in control of it...this unconscious stress controls addiction and will override any diet and health practice if not addressed.
The proof of this is in placebo studies, epigenetics and cases where people have healed all kinds of dis-eases with simple life changes and zero dietary changes.
So after 3 decades of research, training and experience..I say the two keys to health and longevity are addressing ancestral trauma (unconscious stress) and diet..which should be either low carb or zero Carb.

Taking good care of yourself is important, NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE, knows when or how they are going to die. Only God knows this and He’s not telling us. Live each day as if it were the first day of the rest of your life, because it it. Choose wisely how you live and will leave a legacy of wisdom which will far outlive your body.

I am starting with skipping dinner, eating a solid breakfast of steel cut oats chia seed and apple, lunch is vegetable and protein, snack is protein shake on workout days or nonfat greek yogurt w walnuts and pumpkin seed. I think my maintenance calorie is 2300. I am eating about 1500-1800 per day. I strength train 2 days a week and cardio 3. About 2.5hrs of intentional exercise a week. I am modestly sedentary doing 3-7k steps a day. I am 5'9 170lb, my goal weight is 155 with minimal muscle loss. I am turning 42. Hoping to get to 90.
