Hi paul cool to see you mentioned New Zealand in this video, my national airline
VinBin same
The lunch dispenser looks pretty cool! Definitely a nice touch from Lufthansa. Great video once again!
it is not Lufthansa... AIR DOLOMITI is totally italian
Air Dolomiti is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa.
@@mariacristinaciampi3069 the lunch dispensers were provided by Lufthansa i believe
@@cardiffflyer You are right
I've flown Air Dolomiti to Prague in economy class and it was a really good experience ! The Italian snack they offer are to die for and the coffee is truly exquisite :) Munich is my favourite airport in Germany as well, so clean, easy to navigate, not ridiculously expensive and the service level is quite high.
Air dolomiti rocks. I live in Verona which is also their base. Love it absolutely
You have to pour coffee down the drains in the bathroom because the drains in the galley lead outside the plane. It goes through a series of filters before exiting the plane and the coffee grounds clog those filters very easily. So the solution is to dump it in the lav which just leads to a holding tank.
In 2014, I flew with AirDolomiti from Munich to Florence and sat in Business class next to Kanye West. It was a very fun and interesting flight. He was smaller than I expected.
Love the lunch dispenser. I wonder if it is limited or if you could clear it out and sell the packed lunches to the Ryanair passengers? ;-)
Probably just one each! ;-) Nice thinking!
“We have a ham sandwich with apple slices...let’s start the bidding at €5!”
amazing mr. paul! been following your account for months and surelly its getting better and better!
Thumbs up to Lufthansa for the vending machine 👍🏻! And as someone who studied history at Uni I definitely appreciate whenever an airport has a display like that.
As an Italian speaker, being in the "7th sky" (settimo cielo) is just an expression meaning that one is very happy (hinting at being in Paradise).
Sounds like the English expression being "on cloud 9"
The correct English equivalent would be ‘seventh heaven’ which basically means exactly the same as ‘settimo cielo’ does in Italian.
I work at venice airport and I absolutely adore AirDolomiti!!!
I really like Air Dolomiti, for short flights they are good. And the crew is always very nice!
This video is AMAZING, I love small airlines which not many people know about. Liked
I have been on Air Dolomiti before from Cluj Napoca, Romania, to Munich, Germany. In my opinion, it is a very good little airline. Nice staff, good service, and good seats.
Great video as always. The content about these alternative routes has been an eye opener regarding how one can get around Europe in an interesting and economical way.
Excellent video as usual, I have found another airline to put on my bucket list. And I went through Munich 20 years ago and it was fantastic then
Love the video Paul, Keep up the amazing work!
Great video Paul, great work as usual.
Good work as always! ☺️
I love seeing Venice from the plane when landing. Very nice airport too from what I remember.
You videos are lovely. The narration and music are just right. Keep them coming!
Yet another great video 👍.
Found your channel a couple of weeks ago and have seen several of your videos including your trip around the world.. I'm looking forward to your videos from your recent Scandinavian journey. In the meantime I've started to see the rest of your videos, starting with the oldest one and going forward.
Keep up the good work 👍👍
Tallinn airport has a nice display of vintage planes, well it did a couple of years back and in Shannon there is a very cool display of scale model planes from a big collector. That was surprising but very enjoyable to see. Great video Paul! The new format is spot on.
Cool video!love your channel cause it’s the best trip report channel.
I am extremely appreciative of your Videos TYVM
As always, amazing work 👌
Loved the report.
Love your videos !
Nice Trip Report Paul. Nice that you get to fly on these little airlines that one often only sees passing by when waiting for your own flight somewhere. The two sweet options look lovely together with the coffee, Maro and I would definitely enjoy that! Thanks for taking us along on this airline. Best Regards to you from Copenhagen - Maxi and Maro :-D
Great review Paul.
Another good video look forward to the next one
Very nice flight and great view of Venice :) Have all time a great and saftey trip :)
Useful summary. Well articulated.
5:30 did anyone else try to get rid of the ad lol
Yes
Didn't' even notice it tell you pointed it out. Had to go back to look what you were referring too! ;)
Hi Paul, another super video and highly informative. 👌🌍✈️ I particularly love the museum inside the airport. A world away from the cold and wet here in Scotland!
Thumbs up for including info on fares for both classes of travel :)
great video paul
Great video!!
Love the camera footage - silky smooth! Nice!
Trains and planes..... you do both well! Thanks Paul.
as usual great flight report...
Nicely done!
Great trip report well done Air Dolomiti
Hi Paul. Just watched the video whilst relaxing on holiday in Majorca. I took my first flight yesterday in 10 years to get here due to a (irrational) fear of flying. Your videos have been a huge help in getting me back up in the air. Thank you
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know and hope you’re having a great time 👍🏻
Another great video.
Great video as always Paul. Your quality on pre and in-flight experiences / adventures is always high quality and very much appreciated.
At 1:04, the dude at the "Delights to Go - Lufthansa" kiosk really seemed "involved" with customer service. He seemed like: "Don't mind me, I'm just reading my book"....."move along".
Hey Paul good traffic report the food look good and in first class and keep up the good work✈✈✈😊🇮🇹
Great airline and a nicely made video
Howdy, great review as always!😸
Allways enjoy your videos. Thanks Paul. You present the content very well. You are a good man. Cheers.
Great review Paul 👍🏻 That’s another airline I hadn’t heard of. Always like to expand on my av-geek’ness knowledge!
Atlanta has an exhibit in the international terminal that displays some of the illegal things that were caught at the airport. It's amazing.
another great vlog
Paul, Great views in this video.
I've sold Air Dolomiti several times to my corporate travellers, so appreciate the insight. Great video.
What I like about Air Dolomiti is the free (and rather high quality) snack box passengers get in economy class. They also used to have even more trans alp routes such as Munich to Klagenfurt with ATR aircraft but sadly they aren't flying anymore since restructuring and switching to Embraer. I was always a fan since it avoided a 7 hour train ride.
Great video Paul!
Loved the Star Trek Replicators
another great video
The line about replicators - Thanks, Paul - I needed a chuckle
That lunch dispenser reminds me of a meal service we had in the US in the late 80's and early 90's, where you'd pick up a bag with your meal kit for the flight as you boarded. It was right after your boarding pass check or just inside the jetway.
Paul,
Nice simple food and satisfying flight
I can testify to just how long of a trip Munich to Venice by tour bus is. It is long and exhausting even with a stop to stretch Great video keep it up.
Great job Paul! Kudos to Lufthansa for the self serve snack machine. That's the best idea I have ever seen in an airport. Would love to see them in all airports, even if you had to pay for it. How convenient and time saving. Your aerial shots of Venice are the best! Thanks for an impressive vlog! Happy Travels!
Awesome 👍👍
AirDolomiti is amazing
New Gimbal?
Seems to fight you a bit.
You can just see that that's good coffee just from looking at the crema.
Italians...
That view of Venice is gorgeous. I should go there some day.
I'm going to Venice in October 2020 so this is going to give me a heads up
A lunch dispenser, now that's awesome! Other than that, the airline is pretty cool! Nice trip report as always!
Thanks, Paul, for explaining the time benefit of this flight as compared with the same journey by road or rail. We need something similar from Southend to Biggin Hill in order to avoid the horrors of the Dartford Crossing.
Great vid! my favorite airport museum is, DEFINITELY the Smithsonian udvar-hazy air and space museum at IAD, Washington Dulles airport, it is fantastic! I think its even better than the iconic Air & Space Museum in Wash DC.. worth a trip there
It is great, though we should probably tell people who've never been there that it takes a shuttle to get there. Fine if you've got a long lay-over. It is newer than the original museum so has the Space Shuttle, etc. (The original opened in 1976).
Yes. One of the most amazing places in Washington D.C.
Right at the airport.
I love your channel, and today's video brings up a point you may be able to comment on in future episodes: handicap accessibility on various aircraft and boarding methods.
Brilliant video as always Paul! Wanted to fly with Air Dolomiti for ages so it's great to see what it's like. Are you planning on flying from Carlisle Lake District airport when it opens for passenger flights? :)
Nice video, do hope those lovely lunch dispensaries don't replace lunches though, but, nice touch.
Paul I flew thru Munich once on my way to Vicenza, Italy for Operation Desert Storm and really enjoyed the huge Cuban cigar store they have there. We usually flew into Venice from there but the terminal was under construction and I have no idea of what it looks like now. Hope you go to look around Venice which was a very interesting place to walk around. Keep up the good work sir.
I love MUN also, the art exhibits at SFO have always been impressive.
Nice! I happened to fly with Air Dolomiti two years ago, from Zurich to Munich. The flight was delayed by an hour due to the weather, and once up in the air, there was barely enough time for the flight attendants to make their full journey through the cabin handing out refreshments prior to descent into Munich. The seat was OK, and it was my first flight aboard any Embraer jet. I'd consider flying them again.
Paul, love the videos. If you find yourself back in Seattle someday I highly recommend the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field.
Like you I love the Embraer which have sadly almost disappeared from Australian skies...more the pity as they were a great aircraft and very comfortable! What happened to your lunch pack? Great review Paul and looking forward to your next instalment!!
He said he saved it for later that day and it was perfectly fine. At 2:21
i traveled with AD many times from VE to Munich and i can assure that even flying in economy they serve you any drink you want no charge... including prosecco! Amazing flight company
At Reagan National (DCA) there is a nice exhibit on the history of the airport and of the archeology of the colonial plantation site the airport now sits on.
Hope you tried the vaporetto / ferry service from the airport to Venice. Such a great way to arrive. 😊
Have you ever flown Adria Airways? It's Slovenia's national airline. I recently flew them from Ljubljana to Paris. Very beautiful views crossing the Alps, and friendly service.
The Delight to go looks interesting. I know my local Airline SAS has installed similar self service centres at a lot of rural airports which they call "Cafe Lounges" with some small, self service options and about as much seating as a coffee shop. Definitely neat for those travelling from small, remote airports and a great substitute for lounges.
There's a nice little museum with free entry at Cesar Manrique (Arrecife) airport in Lanzarote situated in the original air terminal used up to the 1970s. Worth a visit.
Very interesting report. Do you use a VPN when connecting to these public wifi systems?
Hi, Paul! Little late commenting as I've been a bit under the weather. Better now, and getting ready to travel now.
That museum looked lovely. Did they have anything about the Hindenberg or would that be Berlin? You little box lunch did look very Star Trek! How fun! I was so jealous of your treats; that chocolate mousse looked divine! I've not flown an Embraer...yet. How was the ride? Might I enquire as to whether you've flown any Bombardier RJ's yet and what your opinion of them are? Ta very much.
You should try Air Italy Business Class onboard A330 from MXP to LAX or SFO!
Watching your videos somehow gets rid of the fear I have of flying before I travel 😂❤️
Those in flight desserts looked yummy. I've got to go raid the fridge freezer now - I'm suddenly hungry, lol.
Hi Paul
The airline looks good, it's not one I have heard of. The service looks good too. I think some of our budget airlines could learn from them. I also like the concept of the new business lounge where you can pick up a quick snack.
Looking forward to your next report.
Cheers
DS
I like at FRA the small exhibition about aviation .
It's between the ICE station and T1
Shannon Airport has an exhibition of model aircraft, nver seen it IRL but it looks pretty neat
I saw a small self- service coffee shop in Frankfurt airport for Lufthansa economy passengers few years ago,it was really great idea, workers were moving around in the airport by electric scooters!
At Terminal T in Atlanta, there’s an exhibit about the history of Atlanta, it’s pretty cool :)
Another A+ trip report! I flew Air Dolomiti last summer MUC-AMS in Y on a LH ticket. Totally agree that MUC is efficient and super passenger-friendly. Air Dolomiti's service was also efficient and on-time. For airport museums, have you paid a visit to the Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum and Library at SFO? It's located landside in the International Terminal - an outstanding attraction for avgeeks. Permanent exhibits feature some fascinating models and memorabilia from the flying boat era and PanAm's heyday. In fact, SFO offers all kinds of exhibitions in landside and airside locations.
It's always a pleasure to learn that the flight will be operated by Embraer E series, no matter the route. Beautiful aircraft
the airport in my hometown of pittsburgh, pennsylvania (PIT) has a very large, hanging mobile by alexander calder. it originally hung in the main entrance lobby of their old airport, now i believe it can be found in the gate areas of the newer airport.
I love the Embraer aircraft, I choose them whenever given a choice.
Loved Munich airport, except the last time I was there last month. Only the airtrain connected the two terminals, but it completely broke down so I had to wait 45 minutes for a bus to the other side and nearly missed my connection!
I love Lufthansa lounges, a few years ago having arrived at Frankfurt from Baku at around 4:30am, after a miserable, uncomfortable flight in a packed A330, there was only a 1st class lounge in those days (I had a business class ticket) but the lassie on the desk took pity on me and let me in. Utterly knackered, I fell asleep on the incredibly uncomfortable pot shaped seat only to wake up with a crick in my neck and sore throat from snoring at around 7:30am to a packed lounge! I looked furtively around to see if anybody was looking disapprovingly at me but no, all seemed in harmony, don't you just love business travellers!
