I am so sorry, that I cancelled out the bravo. I think what you say is absolutely correct. I saw every movie that Mario Lanza ever did & I adored him & his voice. Both my husband & I really enjoy Josh Groban now. Have since he was just 17 & he is now 27. We enjoyed his diversity & his talent. He didn't know how to speak Italian,Spanish Or French, when he sang them, but now, he has had some coaching in them, but we love him & have seen him in concert a number of times! Qetesh97
Mario lanza is just amazing! im 23yrs old and i listen to his music more than any other - this is singing at its best - how 15 people can dislike(down thumb) this song is beyond me.....Mario lanza is a legend!!
Mario Lanza . Absolutely fabulous Opera Singer goosebumps every time I listen to the great Mastro . Elvis Presley loved Mario & Elvis paid tribute many times in his songs the way he sang his last song he definitely was singing Mario style .
I got "The Great Caruso" movie for my mothers 86th birthday (May 14th 2011). I am GLAD I did. she just loved it straight away and went on to watch it virtually EVERY day. It was like medicine for her. (she was taken with Dementia December 2004) She was so bright band happy whilst watching Mario it was wonderful for her (and me). Ohhhh God, she died last July 2012. I miss her every day. I am afraid now to look at these videos that she loved. I miss her every day. God Bless Her & Mario Lanza.
I remember as a child his films were being played every Sunday and his voice mesmerized me! To this day day I still get goose bumps when ever I here him sing. He was an incredible talent that gave so many there first taste of opera and the power it can have over a mans soul.
My mother keeps telling me that Mario Lanzo was so great that before he initiated his concert for those who payed the ticket he sang one song for the hundreds of poor people who were waiting for him outside in the cold! Now I don't know if this is true but if it is he was truely great!
I cried as a child when I first saw this and now many years later again watching on you tube. My dad an american sicilian introduced Mario to me and my love for his sound and emotions have never waived.
Mario Lanza was brilliant in everything that he sang. he was not a sterile singer, but picked the raw emotion of a piece----------and made it work! RIP dear Maestro, Lanza!
That was a fantastic wonderful duet with Mario Lanza & the young boy. First time I ever heard an outstanding voice on a young man. Warms my heart ❤️. Thank you for showing this. 🙏🏼 I’m a practicing Roman Catholic. 🛐
I remembered I saw this movie in Nathan theatre, Kowloon in 1952 at the age of 15.I grew to adore Mario Lanza and often imitated him yelling my lung out to the open. My neighbor said If I were in his communist high school, they would have made me a singer. What he did not realized was that I am ONLY a baritone, never could sing that high as Mario.Besides I am very poor in memorizing lyrics. But Mario Lanza brought me a very enjoyable youth, I loved THE GOOD OLD DAYS! You are so right!! A new generation needs to enjoy and understand his gifts. Mario Lanza was incomparable. He was unique. He was the greatest of tenors and greatest of popular singers. Most of all he brought a passion to his work that no one has achieved. A new book expresses it well, " A Kid from Philadelphia, Mario Lanza, the Voice of the Poets." It is made for his fans and also introduces him to young people who need to feel and experience what only Mario Lanza could give: passion.
He sang like God from Olympus! This song sings like an angel, like the sound of the ocean, or mist hung over the city rooftops! Wonderful, great artist!
It is so good to read the positive remarks. before the internet we starved for the culture. I enjoy many singers but Mario Lanza has always been the voice that could make a man cry. So beautiful a singing voice.
Fantastisch!
I love the way Mario Lanza sang. He put so much feeling into what ever he sang. He had a beautiful voice. I thank God that I can still see and hear him on youtube and in his movies.
im only 40 but i think he's just a outstanding tenor, i remember watching the great caruso and i was hooked, music lost a great man, there is no one who can hold a candle to him xx
Ian Fryer it is said that for many classically trainee tenors, that came after Mario, were all inspired to sing like Mario, and I agree because I use his voice as my meter...! And there is a PBS documentary on his life...!
Still feel my heart full with religious devotion while listenign to Mario Lanza; he was long past away when saw for the first time this film, but it was then!!!, when I decided to be a pro tenor (I was 10 years old and was a fan of Tom Jones...but when saw mario Lanza singing this piece I said"Ah! that is what I call singing!!!).Thanks for sharing this wonderful moment for me!!!, Bravo!!!
this man was a true tenor, timeless music by a genius he died a young man that had so m uch more to offer the world of music , never slag off talent ....
I used to have debates with my father over Lanza - i thought Pavarotti was perfection, my father was a Lanza fan. I have since lost my father and now this piece is perfection to me. you was right dad.
No words can describe this man & his immence talent, Truely remarable, not a day can go past without hearing his voice...Thank you so much, for posting & to the great man himself, Mario, Bravo, may he live on forever...xxxx
I listen to this every night in Honor of Mom and Dad. Am I weird with this? I hope not. I grew up with Mario Lanza and have to do an AVE every night for them both. May Almighty God Bless them both. They both deserve to be in heaven. me
Really nice to see mario singing with choir boys,he had the best voice and the best looks, nobody today will ever beat him and i think it will be for a long time,if god had a voice it would be a powerfull voice like mario.hes in heaven.
Where my post went, I do not know. This is still total magic! I'd give my right arm to sing with the great Mario Lanza. This child did, and even if it was not his voice, Mario Lanza embraced him. What a wonderful moment for this child and all of us.
Mario Lanza was another performer whose talents and skills will never be seen again on any stage. I became a fan of his when I was 12 years old when I realized the lyrical beauty of a somewhat unremarkable song, 'The Loveliest Night Of the Year' when it was song by Mario. It was relatively easy to play on the piano being in the key of C.
No hay palabras para describir esta magnifica, increíble, grandísima,.....espiritualisima....interpretación, esta es la mejor rendición del AVE MARIA que he visto y escuchado.....

Perhaps the most beautiful song ever penned sung by the great Lanza with a superb over-dub of the choir-boy`s voice by Jacqueline Allen.
Não há o que se dizer, apenas ouvir e ouvir..... Simplesmente fantástico...
HEAVENLY, THANK YOU
