I remember being in elementary school in late 1980's day-dreaming about singing like him at the school talent show in 4th grade. lol. we did mc hammer instead but it was my secret cuz no one else really understood classical music in my hometown in the Bay Area, CA. My dad was a singer at the SF Opera before i was born. Today is my dad's 19th anniversary since he passed away. I like to listen to Mario Lanza because i hear my dad when he sings. Pavarotti too. Tenors are my favorite. I love you Papa.

    May he rest in peace.

the way Lanza can sing such a fast tempo aria like this and still turn on a dime like a Italian sports car when it comes to constantly shifting articulations and emotional nuances within a phrase is nothing short of miraculous

Finally, teaching the kids where passion comes from!! The only voice with no labored breathing in 100 years!!! Mario was the best. Hands down. Yet, why now the sudden interest back to real talent?

    • @equine2020
      @equine2020 Год назад

Because this modern hurts uouf ears. To little real talent. Voices lack real passion and it's mostly a loud band drowning out a mediocre voice. Is that why they have to be half naked?

1:55 La Danza by Gioachino Rossini (1835)
    |: Già la luna è in mezzo al mare,
    mamma mia, si salterà!
    L’ora è bella per danzare,
chi è in amor non mancherà. :|
Già la luna è in mezzo al mare,
    mamma mia, si salterà!
Presto in danza a tondo, a tondo,
    donne mie venite qua,
    un garzon bello e giocondo
    a ciascuna toccherà,
finchè in ciel brilla una stella
    e la luna splenderà.
Il più bel con la più bella
    tutta notte danzerà.
    Mamma mia, mamma mia,
già la luna è in mezzo al mare,
    mamma mia, mamma mia,
    mamma mia, si salterà.
    |: Frinche, frinche, frinche,
    frinche, frinche, frinche,
    mamma mia, si salterà. :|
    La la ra la ra
la ra la la ra la
    (repeated twice)
    la la ra la ra
la la la la ra la!
    |: Salta, salta, gira, gira,
    ogni coppia a cerchio va,
    già s’avanza, si ritira
    e all’assalto tornerà. :|
    Già s’avanza, si ritira
    e all’assalto tornerà!
    Serra, serra, colla bionda,
colla bruna và quà e là
    colla rossa và a seconda,
    colla smorta fermo sta.
Viva il ballo a tondo a tondo,
sono un Re, sono un Pascià,
è il più bel piacer del mondo
    la più cara voluttà.
    Mamma mia, mamma mia,
già la luna è in mezzo al mare,
    mamma mia, mamma mia,
    mamma mia, si salterà.
    |: Frinche, frinche, frinche,
    frinche, frinche, frinche,
    mamma mia, si salterà. :|
    La la ra la ra
la ra la la ra la

    la la ra la ra
la la la la ra la!

Mario Lanza had a good voice but unfortunately wouldn't train properly I know this because I too am a singer and
My music teacher told me so he had to so im told where an amplifier underneath is clothing because is voice apparently wasn't strong enough for operatic music

    • @eblackadder3
      @eblackadder3 Месяц назад +1

Yes, Lanza lacked much of the training required to sing opera, but his voice certainly was powerful enough. The whole story about his voice having to be amplified or being manufactured by recording engineers is simply not true.
One of my voice teachers was a well-known Metropolitan opera soprano and she heard Lanza in the flesh and confirmed this.

    • @alexvaliansky7707

That’s baloney if there ever was any according to Licia Albanese, and she sang with Lanza.
