Gotta admit, I like the way they did the Duchess's Lament here. It almost sounds like a twisted yet soothing lullaby with bursts of hers and her cook's madness coming out.
Are you only familiar with Disney's "Alice in Wonderland," darling? The source material is extraordinarily, as you say, f*ck*ng creepy. A bizarre poem that sings the praises of beating a child is only the icing on the cake. If you want to be truly creeped out by something, you should seek out the image of the real-life woman they based the image of the Duchess on....now THAT will give you nightmares.
I may have to say the child is not at fault for constantly and uncontrollably sneezing from the red pepper used by the Duchess' cook. Besides, it is natural for pepper to make one sneeze as it contains loads of elements which makes it prone to irritate one's sinuses and make said person sneeze. Not to mention, the Duchess must have understood it and now she had to take her frustration out on one who just isn't at fault for sneezing from pepper as it's normal.
I randomly saw this movie as a kid... And this scene has stuck with me ever since.. It's so weird and creepy.. and RANDOM... And now as an adult it hasn't gotten any less creepy. But I can't stop watching it.
Can anyone tell me who produced this? I teach theater, and I have a student who would like to have the sheet music for this song. So I'm trying to figure out what version this is to see if I can find sheet music. (Pretty sure that's a long shot, but I promised I'd try.)

This is exactly what happened in the book. I'm not kidding.
PyroGothNerd except the baby was howling with crying and everyone in the kitchen was sneezing constantly expect the cook and cat.
And in the book, we find out what the Duchess did at the croquet ground, not at the house
