- Alice (Fiona Fullerton) falls down a rabbit hole and into a magical dream world populated by surreal characters and bewildering adventures. It's a journey of self-discovery for Alice as she searches for a way out of Wonderland and encounters many bizarre creatures such as the White Rabbit (Michael Crawford), the March Hare (Peter Sellers), the Queen of Hearts (Dame Flora Robson), and the Dormouse (Dudley Moore). Musical highlights include the inspiring song "The Me I Never Knew".

I really like this story. You can't go wrong with Alice in Wonderland. All versions and different takes on this tale are really awesome. They are always an adventure.

Lovely film I love Alice adventures in Wonderland and I am glad that you put this film on you tube because this is my favourite Alice adventures in Wonderland film ever.
I grew up on Alice in wonderland 1985 version of this even tho l was 2 years old at the time my grandma had this taped on VHS l love it cuz it's not the cartoon Disney version even tho it's 2 parts n 3 hours long as well just watched it for free here on RUclips for first time n many years n lm 39 now lol so many good memories the nostalgia l miss the simpler times❤

Alice's unnamed older sister in the book was clearly meant to be the author Dodgson/Carroll. This movie version nailed it.

It was half a century ago that I bought the soundtrack of this movie to play countless times on a record player. So it was with great delight and bottomless sorrow that I saw this movie listed in the newspaper. Sorrow because it was one day only and that week I was on standby carrying a voice-only pager.
So today, a very long loose thread has been secured.
I like it that they used the proper title instead of "Alice In Wonderland".

It's really an unforgettable memories of my childhood I've had seen it before as a kid it's were aired on the TV iraq in year of 1983 and now watching it again as an old man

The best form acting is feeling you ARE the character. The problem with Cambridge acting is that they all felt they were acting. And they felt fake. You loved Stephen Fry because he’s real and he’s raw and he wasn’t afraid to allow that show who he was.
Hugh Laurie too. But I think in this movie everyone seems pretty invested in their roles.

I was going to say i didn't mind the disney one that came out in the 50s, but the tim burton one, Especially the second; was hard to watch. You have to watch those movies as if they are their own story since they did kind of create their own not using much of the books.

Was a cute movie until, for no reason at all. The bunny suddenly became a bigot jackass, and proceeded to sing about it.... Seriously, if some stupid bunny man told me what my name was. And demanded it be. I'd punch him in his buck teeth.... This movie is so not for families anymore... And is a complete insult to Alice, not Maryjane. Stupid bunny, Maryjane is on Spiderman, not Alice in wonderland...

This 1972 production starred Fiona Fullerton (Alice) & a host of British stars from the time. With a score & songs from John Barry & Don Black (Thunderball, Diamonds Are Forever, The Man With The Golden Gun) the film looks & sounds quite lush in a pre CGI era. Fullerton (looking a little like Kirsten Dunst) ably portrays the innocence of a slightly older Alice than in the book but with a sense of wonderment that easily makes her portrayal the most likeable of any Alice committed to film. The costumes & sets remind the viewers of the original John Tenniel illustrations, & Geoffrey Unsworth’s BAFTA winning cinematography is a standout of the movie. Whilst it was one of the most popular films of the UK box office the film wasn’t given a large US release & has fallen into public domain. Worth a watch.

@@denisa-fr6cpFour weeks later, but yes!!!! It's the most accurate adaptation of the book ever made, even down to the character dialogue. The only major difference is that one scene from the book's sequel is added in (the Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee scene).

a very nostalgic feeling as i watch this old movie. it was a very confusing movie to watch, and also very scary (the costumes and the animals).
This and the 1985s Verison are so accurate.

I know. That's one of the few flaws this movie has. They actually filmed the scene, but it was a cut and is now Lost Media. I hope it gets found someday.

There are ones with the Cheshire Cat scenes on other channels. Just type in Alice in Wonderland 1972 again and on one that doesn't look like the thumbnail here. It's the creator of the channel called FreeBooter Cinema that has scenes with the Cheshire Cat in them. I have watched it several times when abit tipsy and nostalgic. hehe 🍷🍷🍷🥴

I agree, but Fiona Fullerton did such a great job playing Alice that I don't really mind her being aged up.
They tried casting someone around 7-10 years old for this film initially, but soon saw that it wouldn't work, so they deliberately aged Alice up.
Well, that's the differences between of the book 📖 and the adaptation stories of the mostly versions of "Alice", she was 7 years old, of course the mostly versions of the character Alice is with the hair straight with and without the headbands on the heads is only going and given to her name on her own and it was only voiced and played by me (Megan Connell), Kathryn Beaumont, Olivia Martin, Annalene Beechey, Fiona Fullerton and others and those are the mostly versions of Alice and I also the character Carrie with French Plaits Braided Pigtails Hairstyle which she was played by Cindy O'Callaghan for "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" that I prefer and like them.
