When I first got mine it kept telling me I was Fool Hardy (FH). After learning to be more sensitive and explaining to it what a rotator cuff tear is he told me "This is the way". So now I use the upper rest as a guide when sliding the portafilter in. It complains randomly but we are working well together.
Great video as always! I really enjoy your detailed, in-depth, no frills approach you take with your reviews. Based on your review I will most likely replace my my Mignon Silenzio with the Libra once the itch gets too big.
Great video. I agree about rolling out the Libra tech to other models. If they could put it on the Atom 75 they'd have an amazing competitor the the Mahlkonig E65 GBW,
Another amazing video. I can't wait for the next one as I have the Profitec 600 and don't want to use cleaners. I run zero water filter in my unit so any cleaning tips past the m61 Basket filter. Also looking forward to hearing about paper filter in the Portafilter along with using different basket filters. I really love the E @ B Labs brand.
Looks like a pretty sweet grinder. That retention is shockingly low. It has to vary by season, humidity, and coffee though. I've noticed a large variance in retention in my Niche, with some recent coffees producing a ton of retention (likely due to static charge). It's also winter here in Canada so the humidity in the house is very low, so that should play a role in charge buildup.
Great video, as always! On a side note, regarding aligning the burrs ont he specialita, do you have any advice about what to do when the lower burr aligned properly (when using marker and touching the burrs)?
Excellent video, as always. As far as I'm concerned this grinder is near "end-game" for your average home barista and when I have to lay my DF64 to rest the Libra will be the one to replace it.
Question, is there a way to calibrate the touch point of the burrs to 0 on the dial? Loving the reviews, thanks and keep it up! I vote yes on the motor videos too.
I wonder what you think of the Ceado e37s - I wish I could make it work with single dosing, but consistently repeatable feeding of the beans is so difficult, the resulting grind size is inconsistent. I LOVE it for on-demand and use a Kplus hand grinder for single dosing.
Hi, great video and thanks for taking the time! As you were mostly focusing on the important internal components I did not get the answer to my not very important question but perhaps you can help me out. I really like the grinder but fing the portafilter fitment very poor. I designed a 3d printable picture for the upper arc where the portafilter slides in using it's wings. This renders the lower fork useless and I would like to remove it. I've tried unscrewing the thumbscrew but feel resistance. I don't want to risk doing permanent damage so I have not used force to get past the resistance. I see from the video there appears to be a nyloc nut on the inside but can't really see what can cause the resistance. Any ideas how I can remove the thumbscrew holding the lower fork? Do I need to go in from the underside or should I just use more force to unscrew it?
thank you for all these videos. I recommend you to test the IMS 8-10g basket, the convex one, for a 11g in 19g out ratio. The best 1 cup basket in my opinion. We hear that the Libra would also come out with 65mm wheels, can you confirm?
Great review as always! Can I ask a question about this one vs the Fiorenzato Allground. Which one is a “better” choice? Workflow, results, retention, maintenance, etc…. I’m between these two but can’t decide which would be better for me! If you could have only one, which one would you get?
Great Video series👍 I've also bought the Libra and love the feature for grind by weight. But mine not had the funnel included and mine is doing all the time a lot of mess, which I don't like and which I not achieved to really tackle it yet (trying currently some 3D print improvements). Also, for me changing display contrast is also not working.. Which Firmware is yours and is this feature working for you? Mine is with FW 3.1, bought about 1 month ago
Hi. Thanks for doing this vid. I just got a Libra plus a Profitech Pro 600 machine from WLL yesterday. The espresso machine seems fine but I can't get the double spouted Portafilter with dosing funnel to fit the Libra; it just won't stay in place and the movable gripper, which goes under the PF won't go low enough for things to mesh. I see you use a bottomless PF and wondered if it is less thick than my double spouted PF. Is that true? Thanks for any help.
If you had to pick between the Libra and the Fiorenzato and were making 95% espresso which would you go with? (Using about 1kg/week into an ECM Synchronika)
Hello and thank you for the video. Im looking to mod my Libra to have a direct on/off switch to run the motor manually for single dosing scenarios and bypassing the scale (dosing cup). I know it has a manual continuous mode but you have to have a Porter filter attached. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?
Great video! If you had to choose between the Fiorenzato F4 AllGround (priced $400 below the Libra) and the Eureka Mignon Libra, which would you choose?
I received my Libra yesterday and have yet to bypass the FH error. I am using the La Marzocco Micra portafilter with double-spout attachment. I have gone through the calibration process multiple times. It refuses to accept it. Quite frustrating.
Hey there, How were you able to remove the chute cover without removing the dial knob? I tried on mine (Eureka Mignon Zero), however the dial knob is in the way. Thanks in advance for your response. Best,
For an expensive piece of equipment such as the libra, I was shocked to see that build/quality issue related to the pcb mount. Mistake or no mistake. That’s a QA check issue and it says a lot. You made up my mind. Not buying.
I bought this after watching your review and it was a bad decision. The bottom burr was wobbling like crazy out of the box and I was never able to get it fine enough grind setting for espresso. Total disappointment.
Nice video!!! I watched your alignment tutorio video too, and I purchased an Crono, replaced with the espresso burrs, did the alignment, it just couldn't grind fine enough for espresso, any ideas?🥲🥲

The intro always cracks me up. I'm constantly mimicking it.

Love this channel. The intro looks like a proof of life video from a kidnapper
Superbly done video, always fun & informative. I’m looking forward to your future videos.
Never imagined I could get so excited for upcoming videos about Espresso-nerdy-stuff
The video on grinder motors and gear boxes would be superb!
Great video as always! I really enjoy your detailed, in-depth, no frills approach you take with your reviews. Based on your review I will most likely replace my my Mignon Silenzio with the Libra once the itch gets too big.
Always an immense pleasure to watch one of your videos.
I’m looking forward to your video on a single shot vs half of a double shot espresso.
Great video. I agree about rolling out the Libra tech to other models. If they could put it on the Atom 75 they'd have an amazing competitor the the Mahlkonig E65 GBW,
I really love your content ! Technical like i love 😅😇

I would love to see more in-depth content these motors. No one really talks about them other than to repeat the manufacture's numbers.

Love the breakdown. Can you make a video on the Perfetto with the dial mod?

Its an end game for me, as I want to throw it away due to fh errors and switch to tea.
Looking forward to videos on papers and single shots.
waiting for cleaning video 😍
I just ordered this.

I am using Mignon Zero it makes really deleciosu coffee that i can use for pour over brews also. Libra is nice but not cheap enuogh to buy.

Were you ultimately able to get the bottomless ECM to work reliably?
Pls do a dissasembley of a baratza sette 270wi

Im really frustrated with the FH errors and the falling out portafilter
Libra price was upped to 675 euro on ECS. I think that that price I'll be waiting a while longer.
Great video! If you had to choose between the Fiorenzato F4 AllGround (priced $400 below the Libra) and the Eureka Mignon Libra, which would you choose?
I would take the AllGround and buy my wife something nice with the $400 saved.
I received my Libra yesterday and have yet to bypass the FH error. I am using the La Marzocco Micra portafilter with double-spout attachment. I have gone through the calibration process multiple times. It refuses to accept it. Quite frustrating.
Hi, a general question, could one use the Libra with a dosing cup instead of portafilter?
Will 54mm portafilters fit in this?
where do you buy parts for eureka grinders?
Hey there,
How were you able to remove the chute cover without removing the dial knob? I tried on mine (Eureka Mignon Zero), however the dial knob is in the way.
Thanks in advance for your response.
Best,
You just unscrew the knob and it comes away.
Jesuss, i am between this or the oro single dose 😢
AllGround Sense vs this?
AllGround
