This is a great conversation and I enjoyed and learned a lot from this insightful conversation of two great minds in Zimbabwe. At 10.02 minutes Trevor asked a candid question - "what happened to us Simba?" Dr Simba very clear that Zimbabwe has changed. When we associated position of responsibility and leadership with acquisition of materials, the rot started. Zimbabwe is now a country of people with a deep degree of corruption and greed! We are a shadow of the former nation that we once were. Right now, we are power hungry, cruel, corrupt - we are no longer trustworthy, no longer hardworking, no longer honest, and very greed and cruel....Trevor rightly echoed, "we are broken nation!" The problem analysis and recommendations steps towards the solution by Dr Simba are so critical and very necessary for LEADERS in Zimbabwe! Indeed, "If we can't acknowledge that we have a problem, there's no way we can find solutions to something that doesn't exist" No one will come to help us!
One of the best conversations that this great show has delivered. I've always held Simba in high regard and my respect for him has grown tenfold after watching this.
I liked this this conversation, so factual and articulating.I will start to look into myself and acknowledge my faults, not someone.thank you Mr Makoni and Trevor.
Wise words right there. A man who spoke truth to power during Mugabe's time when it was dangerous to do so and still speaking truth to power during ED's time when the abductions and human rights violations are worse..wise man Dr Simba Makoni !
Haa Mr Trevor i dont know how you choose your guests but every week you surprise me mdara ...I am patiently waiting for this one its goin to be a good one

Dr Simba Makoni almost made me support Zanu PF ... He was the light in the Dark ... A great mind and a great interview .. this time Trevor you outdid yourself
Don't let the field you study paddock you from the outside world - Dr Simba Makoni, I honestly felt this one. And learning that you studied Chemistry then went on to practice little or not any of it but became a great success in your assignments and placements is so encouraging. I'm one person who is on the edge of switching (thanks to our status quo sadly) and this interview has really helped me broaden my insights. Thanks Trevor for the show
Thank you all for creating time to watch the Conversation with Dr Simba Makoni. The team and l take time to read ALL your comments and take your suggestions and criticism to heart. Apologies that time constraints make it difficult to respond to every message. Stay well and safe.
Growing up in the 1980's on Sundays between 7:00 pm and & 7:45 pm; we used to be glued to our Television screens watching a Current Affairs program called The Nation. In Conversation with Trevor Ncube has become the better version of the former.
The most intellectual, deep conversation I have watched among a lot I consider highly on this channel. Thank you Trevor for bringing this platform to hear from some of our country silent but powerful legends.
Mr Simba Makoni is full of wisdom and humility. Such men of his calibre are rare, very much out of sight. They're not recognized, even if it's known that they are there. This is the man. Such men like him, we need to be our leaders.
Zimbabwe sent its people to school but failed to invest in them and Dr Simba Makoni is a prime example. With this man at the helm Zimbabwe could have been a force to contend with on the continent and worldwide!

Very educative and inspiring indeed.Thank you @Trevor for these shows, learning a lot.To some of us whom would want to learn more from Dr Simba Makoni how can we reach him @Trevor
Why Zimbambwe is what it’s today with such brilliant minds is beyond me honestly. As someone who lived in Zim for 13 years of my life when I moved there 1980 until 1995 from Mozambique in pains me to see such a great country that has so much to offer in the Southern Africa.
Thanks Mr Ncube for this fascinating and educative programs am learning a lot through following all conversations you do with most popular business personalities and also politicians
Dr Simba Makoni is a true revolutionary and visionary person. We need such bold individual and fearless people who stand up to the task. Thank you for such inspiring words and words and may the youth of today take courage to stand up for the truth irregardless of numbers

Great conversation Sirs. We need people who are going to shine the torch to show us the way out of the hole we are in, not people who are going to shine the torch to show us how deep the hole is. Our challenges/ crises are well documented. We need solutions and actions. It's a pity that most of our energy is spent on toxic politicking and maintaining patronage networks.
My friend, if you are limping around with a crutch but refuse to admit that there's something wrong with your leg, let alone have the actual issue be diagnosed and isolated, You will absolutely never fix your limp. That's where Zimbabwe is.They can arrest Hopewell for exposing a discrepency in judicial practice on Bail. But a woman who was caught red handed with over $300k of Gold stolen from the nation and has the means to flee is allowed out on bail. In addition it's very obvious she has the means to tamper with possible witnesses. We need our people to have outcry when the indefensible happens. He was very correct in saying people get the govt they deserve. The U.S just came together and fiercly ousted that abomination of a person because he was degrading the standing of the nation. In Zim unfortunately people end up attacking the Doctor who diagnoses you with cancer as if he's the one who gave it to you.
@@msi4063 I think the challenges have been diagnosed ad nauseum over the years to the point that we are stuck in a state of paralysis by analysis. And that's the problem with persons like the good Doctor and others which include Dr. Noah Manyika, Dr. Nkosana Moyo, Dr. Shingi Munyeza, etc. They have been highly vocal, academic and theoretical about the situation but with no clear action plan to start changing the course of the country. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing (or to do little). Unfortunately, the electorate is left with no choice but to elect the incompetent, inconsiderate, corrupt, dishonest and slogan chanting men and women who are brave enough to put up their hands at election time, or on the face of it presents something to them. No matter how hollow that is.
The Current failureship does not and cannot afford to have competent incorruptable people in govt, otherwise they can't steal. Unfortunately The current mosquito will try to suck blood long after this animal is dead.

@@msi4063 thank you for that one. It leads me to wonder what exactly is important when it comes to Zimbabwe: is it national or partisan interests? Very sad indeed

Trevor we do understand that we are a broken society, but honestly my analysis is that our government is paying few individuals to divide the unity of the nation.
Thank you for the wonderful interview. It would have helped if Mr Makoni had done something about the issues he raised while he was in government but instead he chose to enjoy the benefits. He was also part of the problem.
If zanu had made a mistake of putting this man on the helm of the party I hope this country by now could have been on another level and zanu liked by majority.

DR Makoni needs to be given a whole day to share his experiences in agriculture. great interview.
