Interesting interview. However, like most former Zanu PF bigwigs who were vanquished in the internal power struggles, she wants to present herself as a 'victim', a progressive, and 'clean' political player. She was the ZPF women's league leadership during the bloody-violent 2008 election, particularly in her constituency and in Bikita West (see Human Rights Watch, Zimbabwe: ZANU-PF Sets Up 'Torture Camps' - Opposition Voters Tell of Beatings, Intimidation, 19 April 2008), yet she did not condemn such act of political violence in public. Now that she is out of favour with the ruling party, she would have us believe that she is progressive, open-minded, and tolerant of divergent views. I hope the second part of the interview engages her on the violence in Mashonaland provinces and her complicit (directly) and indirectly by not speaking out against such heinous violence against opposition supporters in her constituency.

@@kufandiroristew it's sad what you went through and I hope you have healed from the trauma. Instead of apologising, she hides behind writing a book to exonerate herself. I find her disingenuous. @Trevor Ncube needs to pushback on some of the narrative by these turncoat politicians.

Woman I had immense respect for. I find it odd that she speaks of Ghana as progressive and in the same breath suggests that parliamentary systems are drawn from a toxic history as though to sanitize the mess in Zim's politics. The natural direction she would have taken would have been to say that there is a culture of intolerance which has nothing to do with decapitations in Britain. Zanu refuses to have an open playing field!

Unlike the current situation where the the majority of ministers are drawn from noise makers in parliament .The few technocrats in the current government are reporting to the barracks so there is nothing positive to expect from them.

When a scholar deliberately distorts facts on land reform to suit her narrative I think its worrisome. Land reform was a reaction to the referendum and the the formation of MDC by Tsvangirai. Then they came for the white farmers, and she did not speak out- because "I don't know many revolutions that are bloodless" 53:00
Then they came for the MDC supporters, and she did not speak out-because she wanted to retain her constituency seat at all cost.

"Democracy is not instant coffee" Your narrative on land reform mama upsets them more,if they go with it they lose friends.." their rich friends" Today's in conversation with Travor Ncube is a stop start continuously..khunzima mama... No. She is among the many big guns who think Zimbabwe owes them a leg and an arm. Everything sweet must be channelled to their children and grandchildren. If she had not been fired; she would be in the new dispensation at her age vying for ministerial posts. She is unrepentant and shows no emotion for the blood and pain during what she terms a land revolution. Pushing a narrative of entitlement. A shame. She should be ashamed. A mind blinkered by years of unchecked power. Sad.

my only question to mama is what happened to this side of you when you had the power to change not everything but some aspects of Zimbabwean politics. what happened to this side of you when Zanu Was violating everything you are talking about under your watch.

So does she think we will feel sorry for her. Olivia was part of the cabal and she grossly contributed to the mess that we are in.

clearly she is a zanu person..on her book only crying because was fired..she does not regret all the destruction of Zimbabwe..she felt pain for her Son but does not see problems of what zanu has done to many Sons and Daughters in Matebeleland and Midlands when she was in Zanu...never cares about what zanu later did to many Sons and Daughters in Mashonaland..shit yomuntu

Why all these former Zanupf bigwigs appear trautimised and victims. Yet there have been thousands of ordinary citizens who were brutalized, maimed and killed. 2008 you sat sipping coffee when your party went on a killing spree and to make matters worse, you were denying it.

Doing my duties for example it was hot and I thought the president needed a fan - is that a minister's duty? She and the other old people must have resigned long back. They destroyed this country but noone wants to own up to their misdeeds

She is so dull and boring. Even Teurai Nhongo who got educated by correspondence , is more eloquent and delivers her messages with ease . This one struggles even to finish a sentence.
