ORLANDO, FLORIDA 32867 - Видеоклипы
As they freely acknowledged at the time of release, the bassline is drawn from Kraftwerk's Europe Endless and the melody is an homage to Booker T & The MGs Time Is Tight. A thing of beauty.
Comes close to perfection for me.
Welcome back, Ariadne 😊
I believe that "Kraftwerkian" is a perfectly acceptable word.
This track, Gang of Four's early work, and XTC's ‘Summer's Cauldron’ were the melodica's chance to shine in independent popular music.
The working title was KW1, which answers your Kraftwerk question! The earliest US cassette copies even used the working titles of this and another track, although they printed it as "Kwi"
This lp is in my opinion one of the best ever from any genre. 😊
Great music for music students great live band and performance
One of my favourites. 🥰
Epic tune. They were big Kraftwerk fans. Obviously. who isn't? Dead people.
Such a great song. I love everything about it.
Wonderful song !
Hugs from Brazil 🎉
This was Good.
The comments below prompted me to recommend Erasure's Real Drums Mix of "Rock Me Gently" from 1995 CD single..
Not only were they influenced by Kraftwerk, Ian Curtis was the person who turned them on to Kraftwerk. He was a huge influence on the eventual direction of New Order. You can certainly hear the beginnings of the Kraftwerk influence on the last things Joy Division did, later singles and the Closer album.
You go back to Grandma’s house to get that long forgotten melodica.
probably my fave on the album
One of my all time favorite lyrics, the last line of the song “so why don’t you piss off?”
Reminds me of classical chamber music
This was always a favorite of mine from this album. I've always thought this was a natural preview of their later song, Thieves Like Us. The song has a hypnotic elegance to it. And of course, has a good beat and you can dance to it! And as for the Kraftwerk reference, so many of the electronic bands at the time influenced each other. It was a really fun time for music!
Definitely a "good for drunk dancing at 2 am" track - I think I remember it being played at Islington Elektrowerkz when I used to go there
@@trashandcheese3636 Perfect club song!
Awesome thanks JP, definitely Kraftwerk influences but then they have influenced so many artists.....New Order create the most soulful and moving pieces without the need for complexity....
It's "kraftwerkisch" as we say in Germany (or is it "kraftwerkesk"?). And yes, anybody who is familiar with Kraftwerk immediately hears the resemblance as soon as the song starts.
Stately and graceful with more than a hint of Kraftwerk.
Aw, yeah. One of my favs from New Order. I know you're running through this album, but sometime in the future you gotta hit 'Love Vigilantes' from their album Low-Life!
The full Lowlife album. In my top 5 albums.
The last time I *almost* cried - hey, I'm a manly-ish man - was hearing this live.
I suspect it's about the dearth of Ian Curtis.
The best of NO here
"Your Silent Face" comes very close musically to Kraftwerk's "Europe Endless", which is perhaps why it's one of the few tracks on Power, Corruption & Lies that I enjoy.
Bronson! 🎉
I could have whacked a minute off this tune. It was ok. My foot was tapping for most of it. I am partial to human drummers playing actual drums. Kraftwerk would be an exception because they were cutting edge. Imagine if after Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon every song there after had clocks in it. The joy of music would be gone. It is how I think of electronic rhythm. (I make some exceptions with some devices in live performances)
Has to be said New Order or The Joy Division make by far the best abbatoir music, and with any luck this could be almost be as good as anything you would hear in an elevator
This now sounds so thin and feeble compared to, say, the live O2 version from 2021 on RUclips....
