When the episode first aired I only knew the song "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)." I then bought the first album and have bought the first 3 since. They are all really good albums. Underrated band. FYI, they got back together for real a few years later (without Amanda) and are still together today. 😁
This was delightful. I couldn’t tell you the first thing about Information Society but this was really enjoyable. Kurt does not seem like a happy person at all.
he said it was the worst years of his life being in the band and now VH1 asked him to reunite with his mates is like bringing a burnt charcoal to a wildfire
there is a link on their website where he explains VH-1 hounding and the fact also they were very intrusive and also wanted to use their concert as a product
I’m glad the three of them realize how much they have missed each other and it showed and wish Curt would have at least been there to just say hi and then there last could have been brought full circle for the four of them
I'm looking at the RUclips recommendations to the side of this video, and I see a clip entitled "Interview with Information Society." The vid is dated 9 years ago, and Paul, Jim and Kurt are all in the thumbnail. So it looks like Kurt let bygones be bygones and did eventually get back together again with his bandmates.
Anyone upset with Curt. Keep in mind he was during this time working audio design and composing with various game conpanies including big names at the time Crystal Dynamics and more.
That guy Kurt seemed like a miserable weirdo anyway. He was even annoyed when Aamer walked in to greet him. Probably was for the best he didn’t reunite with these guys, because they all seemed to hate him.
I never knew about this band nor cared for their music (and few other bands) after watching an interview with Aamer(?) talking about VH1 Bands Reunited today (Tuesday, October 8, 2024) 20 years ago; his December 2023 interview!! I enjoyed mostly 80s British bands the most he got to talk to and such!! Now if it happened again it would be 40 plus years getting some of these bands together yet again if they (or some members who didn’t rejoin in the original broadcast back then) to see again maybe with the original lineup or so (few have past away) I remember watching most of these episodes back then originally!!
ERRRR... I was so looking forward to seeing this reunion. Even stopped myself from scrubbing to the end of the video to see the build up, and eventual let down. Did the guys apologize to Amanda for not being there for her during her time of need? I didn't hear it but I hope they did because just brushing it under the rug with "chicken" is bs.
At this point they could re-reunite the band since most of these episodes hadn't seen each other for ~18 years....and here's it's been yet another ~18+ years since these aired.
They actually did. They released an album in 2007, Kurt performed some vocals on it and then later on re-joined the band permanently. They've released three albums since then.
Amanda can’t hold a candle to the late Sally Berg though, especially the drums. But we all know Information Society got back together eventually because there are several more albums and I saw them live in Austin and Dallas, with Kurt.
One can say what they want to about Kurt's eccentricism and appearant over sensitivity, but the truth is, Kurt warned Aamer fair and square and in no uncertain terms not to dig into Amanda's departure. He even told Aamer that if Amanda did talk about it, that they (Kurt and Aamer) would be "done". That should have been the end of it, but Aamer wouldn't let it go. In stead he pushed the issue with Amanda, to get the information. I hope it was worth it, because it looks like that was reason enough for why Kurt did not go. Aamer was warned fair and square.
Shame Kurt could not make it, but very understandable. I;m glad they did not perform, they could have played the music but any performance would have been forced
There are some interesting reads of why he decided not to, some of which lays in the shady practices that BR used in reaching individuals. As he recalls ,they ambushed him in his office under false pretentions and put him on the spot, imagine being at work ,having a different life and someone comes into your work place with a camera crew after having lied to your work place why they were coming there. There is a lot of which they edit out of these things and stories they do not tell.
Can you not see that BR was just another totally scripted BS reality show? One of the most absolutely ridiculous genres ever devised, and an insult to anyone with intelligence. I'm not sure I can find much to blame Kurt for having the attitude he did towards being ambushed and coerced into doing something he didn't want to do.

Respect to Amanda for her honesty about struggles with addiction. Addiction happens. Glad she found her way out.

Yep your right.
there is a link on their website where he explains VH-1 hounding and the fact also they were very intrusive and also wanted to use their concert as a product
I loved their music and actually I like all of them a lot after watching this quirky TV reality. Wonderful guys.
“Walking away” has a quite accurate premonition lyrics. Damn man, the reunion was almost there…
I’m glad the three of them realize how much they have missed each other and it showed and wish Curt would have at least been there to just say hi and then there last could have been brought full circle for the four of them
Amanda was gorgeous, and at this taping, she was even more gorgeous. And brave.❤️
This one is BEAUTIFUL.

They play together occasionally and its very good
It came very close.
They were big with the Latino community, because their music had a “Latin Freestyle” sound, which was popular in the 80s and 90s.
Kurt Harland appears not to have a sense of humor, even though he needs his penguin.
Kind of a proto extreme Redditor
@@Plunderkind I wouldn't know a Redditor from a 17 Magazine editor. Video game music! Oy!
Those 3 guys kept the secret of why they had to fire her from the band for 16 years! Respect!
take back to 80's
sadly some bands just don't want to.
Anyone upset with Curt. Keep in mind he was during this time working audio design and composing with various game conpanies including big names at the time Crystal Dynamics and more.
Spelled as Kurt not Curt.

Does anyone know the name of the TV show that appears several times with Kurt wearing a doctor's coat? I wanted to see that performance.
Loved them. I wish they could have stayed together.

Alguém tem esse show 4:58 completo no RUclips?

i didn't catch it until just now, but.... Did I just hear some Project 86 sampling in this video from 'Safe Haven'?
For forty years, I thought this band was from the UK...🤔😂

how did he know he talked with her about that topic
Aamer had every right to ask Amanda about her departure, so Kurt never told Aamer anything, so your post is totally false
Cuando ví a Amanda Kramer pensé que era Ricky Rocket de Poison. 😅😅
Haha I always thought these guys were "British" ;)
Wow...thanks Kurt.😑
Kurt "WeakSauce" Harland
Shame Kurt could not make it, but very understandable. I;m glad they did not perform, they could have played the music but any performance would have been forced
Kurt - That's spelled - C U N _
Who the hell are these people ????
Information society I am rubbing my
HEAD
I have no respect for people who agree to something then go back on their word. I love the music, but lost all respect for the singer
