Worrying about failure resonates sooo much! I failed my first exam season at medschool, so the stress of failing again made me fail my second one too… But after having been trough that and acknowledging that the stress doesn’t help me in any way I was able to make it right and I have been passing all my exams since! Thanks! Great video!
I can relate. So im a 2nd year med student, and after failing my first quiz this year, i was crying and so disappointed. But i told myself " quit crying and stressing out because its just the 1st quiz. So for my next quiz, i studied 9 days before my quiz 2 and most of those days, i daylighted in the library. Got my marks today, i passed and scored the 2nd highest😊
its difficult staying motivated when your still in secondary school aspiring to be a doctor..such a long wait and no motivation ever..this video really helped thank you
don’t stress this much man. you will have enough to worry about later on, enjoy your life right now, bcs this time doesn’t last long, enjoy it while you can.
Couldn’t agree more! Once I changed my mindset and made sure I was taking care of my body (sleep schedule, eating well and working out) I noticed changes in my productivity 💛
Thank you for these realistic videos Nasir. SO refreshing to hear that people dont just study for 12 hours straight like robots lol. I think a lot my problems around studying come from perfectionism. I spend more time dreaming about things being perfect then actually doing it. In those situations its better to just get the ball rolling and break down the big tasks into small manageable tasks to spur me on to study. Definitely, just getting started sometimes is the hardest but most necessary thing to do.
I'm so disappointed with myself..I'm not enough confident.. Besides my medical environment is so toxic..even achieving 60% became so hard for me..i can't explain how much trouble i face here..is it same everywhere? 😔
Thank you Dr.Nasir.. I am "reprising" what you said : " Compartmentalisation" : just like cell compartmentalisation which improves efficiency--- we also must compartmentalise all the different stresses in our life and focus on priorities. " Don't be too harsh on ourselves" ----so basically we have to restore our serotonin levels which automatically makes us to think positively, by exercising+ good diet. " Perceived difficulty and Actual difficulty" ---- so, here ...we have to time on the brain. Using resources: Sketchy medical, Osmosis, Flash cards . " Jedi mind tricks" ---- idk about these ,r they real ???
Idk HOW but every video shows up just in time to help me with what i am going thru at the moment. I´ve been really unmotivated since i saw my effort not getting the results i wanted it to, and i stopped trying. I started finding it hard to wake up early and sit down to study, cause i didnt want to feel like a failure again. But, as you said, NOT trying is the only way you assure failure. SO THANKS i really needed it! Baby steps from now on, but im sure i will make it, and you will all too
Apart from the tips mentioned here, we’re also a symptom of our society. If one is inducted into a system where ‘failure’ and ‘success’ are defined with such rigidity, it’s hard to continue with consistency. Also, abuse and trauma can help with motivation, which feels like an uphill battle (there are exceptions). I’m not saying there are no solutions, just a lot of dimensions that come in the way of motivation.
Procrastination is about not getting thing done that you know you gotta get done, if you have done then watching this kindah vlog is not procrastination
nasir bro im a grade 12 student right now i was an excellent student in the beginning of the year all my grades were A+ but now we have 40 days before our summer exams and i have got no motivation to study at all i think i’ve burned out i cannot even sit and focus for a straight hour im easily distracted and i just have no will power at all i dont wanna ruin my future just because i cant study for 40 days i really wanted to go to med school but i just can’t study anymore im mentally and physically exhausted nothing is working with me and i dont wanna disappoint my parents please help me ☹️ i also have 25 days left out of the 40 days we have 7 subjects im done with 4 of them but i had started reviewing before the 40 days started i started reviewing about 2 months ago now i have 3 more subjects left and i dont know what to do how am i gonna finish these 3 subjects in 25 days
bro u can do it I was the same a month ago u know if a day only left for the exam u can do everything and I experienced that myself just don't waste the remaining time thinking whether u can or not just start and u will be the best medical student next year ISA
I thought this was going to be a “Get your ass up and get to work” à la Kim Kardashian but I saw some great tips. So, that’s great. Also, ‘Be Your Own Hype Person’.
Hard to stay motivated when you are a student in an undeveloped country of eastern Europe where everything depends on the acquaintances of your parents, the pay toll is hella low (200/300$) or zero for interns/junior doctors, nurses, etc. where the education is not valued and you basically face injustice in every step you take... that kinda kills your motivation even if you are a brilliant student sadly...
Really needed this video. Fear of failure has really taken over me in the last couple of years. I guess it’s because I have failed before and never want to go back to how that felt.
This video is amazing since it has created some motivation for me to study without any setbacks. Thanks for sharing! As an International A Level student, I finally discovered that relaxation is also pivotal during my studying process. My main obstacle on studying is physical tiredness since I didn't study well in the past and I need to refill some basic skills (e.g. reading and comprehension). I didn't study well in the past until the IGCSE grade, but I still have got 6A* 1A in IGCSE exams and overall Band 7 in the IELTS exam due to my motivations and invented methodology (e.g. applying knowledge in real life and sharing to classmates to have fun).
The sound effect used in the beginning when reasons were popping up sounded as if someone was banging on my door muffled by my headphones. Man, don't give me such anxiety!
I pray that in time you will grow to become a fine healer of the body and mind. Most of the videos you produce resonate so much in real life experiences and situations that they are so hard to shrug off or ignore because they're true. Listening to you makes me see that no one is born mediocre. They just have to start off on the way best for them.
I feel like , I can’t make it on my own . But people in my university are really ….. really not helpful …. Mostly people are really really selfish and I have developed trust issues as a result . To trust anyone even my own parents or my partner has become so much harder for me . I don’t know what’s happening but I want to deal with it on my own as some people say I should learn how to be independent. On the other hand , it’s not like I have people waiting to support me so I don’t even have a choice . Even if I try to find someone to help me along , my trust issues come in and I lose them too . I don’t know if I’m even making sense or if anyone is even reading this but …. Idk I really don’t know
Heyy Dr. Nasir, feels good to call you that after so many years of education. Really dig the new animations and transitions. Congrats on the 1 mil bro, you deserve it 💪!!
I think my reasons are Getting Distracted Easily and Worrying about Failure. I am gonna try to follow the methods u have stated, let's see if it works. Thanks for advises....😀
Also my return to study hard and enter the college of my dreams is architecture. I hope to become the most famous engineer in the world because I love her so much and they try to pursue your dreams
Information on how to tell the difference between lack of motivation due to being being tired et cetera and genuinely not wanting to do the course would be great please.
Well it's a coincidence that i was struggling with the same problem of feeling lacking efficiency and feeling unmotivated to study... Thanks for the video bro❤❤ Lots of love frm a med student
thank you nassir, i have icse 10th grade board exams, and i was extremely demotivated to study for such long hours, but this video really helped me to give an insight to all the unhealthy habits i surrounded myself with during studying sessions.

I am going through the same thing today. I didn't do well in today's exam and now I am not able to focus on studying for my next exam
