I'm a bit sad, I do have to admit, that the absolute banger song "Happy birthday to you, here's a military coup, you have five seconds to leave, and your family too! (Waheeyyy!!!)" was not in this
@@algorithmizer The only issue is that that even with the vast volume of stuff they've made, you can't start over having forgotten anything- they're too memorable!
This has brightened my day immensely! I saw 2:01 and immediately thought "that's Chris under that mask" and lo and behold! Also, lost a lung laughing at the pigeon general (the pidgeoneral? pidgeneral? idk) Your work is always so lovely, thanks so much!
The squad of pigeons marching across the screen then simultaneously looking at the viewer brought 'Be Prepared' from 'The Lion King' to mind, where the hyenas are marching across. This might be the best Tech Diff animation you've done yet. My favourite part of the episode was Gary singing 'Happy Birthday'.
Thank you very much! The 'Be Prepared' analogy was very much intentional, and I tried making a more direct parody at 2:18, but the green filter wasn't working quite right, so I went with just red. I'll probably end up animating the 'Happy Birthday' section as well, perhaps as a Short or something.
Brilliant. I'm picturing everybody's favourite Gary Brannan dressed a a pigeon in Trafalgar Square cooing and picking up cigarette butts with his beak. And he is thinking........"It's a bit Chile out here". Get it???? *Sigh.......*
And thus we delve deeper into the simulacra! Chilean Government Program -> Wikipedia article on Project Cybersyn -> Technical Difficulties episode using that article as a source -> an animatic based on that episode -> a viewer reimagining the animatic with original imagery and dialogue...
The amount of work that must've gone into the robot pidgeon mechanism to make their heads move parallel to their feet! I just want you to know it is being appreciated. ❤💚💛💙
I'd seen the Henricus one before but just now discovered this whole playlist, and while a few got me to laugh out loud alone, with this one it was almost constant. XD
Sometimes they get so insistent on a tangent that, thinking about animating it, I struggle to find a way to actually connect it to the core topic 'written on the blackboard'. In such situations, like the Tartar Sauce Rustling, it won't take place at the classroom- not even a semblance of coherence to be had!
I cannot pinpoint why but the way this one is done is especially glorious. One element I can pinpoint, though, is all the design work that clearly went into the robotic pigeons. 🙂 Well done!
@@CamstonIsland There are more tiny details that add to it, though - another one I have now pinpointed is Matt's brief self-satisfied smiling face jutting into Gary's speech. 😊

oh yeah, thats a greatly missed oppertunity
How did I miss that! I had it in the first audio draft cut, but I must have snipped off more than I intended!
Bother.
@@CamstonIsland I think a special addendum of just that bit is completely warranted, personally

hi
@@infrabread No way!
You drawing the University of TechDif with Mad Cap'n Tom's pirate ship strapped on the roof was already an amazing starter scene.
I had it floating around since the pilot 'Henricus' animation, so I thought it was about time to reuse it...
Honestly the artistic rendition makes it so much better 😂
Gags made for radio make for funny visuals

Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked this! I'm not sure what the abbreviation would be, but I do know the plural is 'Pigeons General'
I am the very model of a modern pigeon general?
Marvelous work! Laughing at this one all over again. The stories these boys come up with never fail to be amusing.
Who knew some Yorkshire lads doing a radio show would make for such amusing visuals! I did, that's why I made the bloody thing.

Great work as always. I see you got plenty of use out of the drawing of Tom with his head in his hands.
Sometimes fighting against a good bit is futile, and one must give up their reins as format host to the guy making pigeons with rockets up their bum.
Ah yes, from the episode where they unintentionally pissed off everyone in chile
As opposed to the others where they piss everyone else off in the world very much intentionally.
I don't think they did though. There's loads of comments on the original video from Chileans and they're all supportive
