Two beautiful Theobens. You did a superb job of making the barrel shrouds. Thanks for sharing.

What a treat that was. To see your own skills in the adapting both those rifles, is a credit to your respect for the marque. As a recent first time owner of a Mk2 FAC Rapid, I can appreciate your attention to detail. I was around at the hey day of Theoben, but alas would never have had the money to own one. But now in my later years mine has joined my collection, in pride of place. Thank you for sharing.

Many thanks for the great comments....thay are great air guns and it was a real shame that they stopped trading. They are so easy to work on and are still up there with modern air guns.

    Hello Sir,
Thank you for sharing with us your beautiful Theoben air rifles.
Had things been then as they are now, I would have owned my own Theoben Rapid. I was at school back then and didnt have a hope of owning any air rifle.
The look of these air rifles, their stocks, their action, their accuracy and performance I think are fantastic. With the buddy bottle at the fore end, that style of air rifle havent changed much from that time.
They are both lovely stocks, but the second one I think is just gorgeous.
Ive made a couple of my own laminated stocks in walnut and ash, to replace either a black plastic moulded stock or just a plain, dull, lacklustre stock of my Weihraurch air rifles. On looking at your second stock, its inspired me to maybe make another? Though they are winter, dark, cold night projects.
You made a lovely job of your shrouded barrels, too. Back in the eighties, when Theoben were born, people seemed to make much more of their own things, using and utilising whatever they could source and find. Though I think materials are much more accounted for now and not as readily available.
One of my dads work colleagues made his own regulator's for scuba diving. Maybe we'll go back to those times as everything becomes more and more expensive.
Thank you again Sir, best wishes.

Many thanks Ian, I had great fun making the silencers and shrouds. The Theobens just lent themselves to be customised with a fantastic simple action. There's a great following for them with many part's available on ebay.
      Keep enjoying your airguns.

@workingspringerguernsey4961 is that an mfr bottle? Seems more slender than standard to fit the shroud? Very nice job!

Hi, I was wondering what version the Caldwell bipod is on the first Rapid7 and where you purchased it from , and what attachment you used to fix it to your buddy bottle and where that was from, thank you Darren.

@@saxecoburggothasuk9693 Hi Darren, the fitment to the buddy bottle comes from Dr Bob's gun bits. I don't know if you can still get them but if you look up Theoben on ebay there are other types around. The bipod is from Caldwell and it's the XLA bipod. Sorry for the confusion but I hope this helps you out......Good luck
