To answer Rob's question at about 3:38, Sadie's Story starts about seven or eight hours before Rookie woke up in his S.O.E.I.V. (Drop Pod.) Crone means gross, grouchy old lady. The person the dispatcher was talking to is Veronica Dare, Buck's Ex/Future Wife.
Sadie I believe was hired by ONI. She works with Vergil because she is one of the only people that understands him. Basically a translator and handler for Vergil working with ONI. She was later captured by rebels but was rescued by Alpha 9 the same ODST team from this game. As far as we know she still works for ONI as Vergil's translator and handler.
I last listened to these logs back in 2010, took hours to collect all of them. Did it without looking up their locations, so that part was fun :) Honestly, just roaming the city at night and finding all of the hidden caches of gear was great. Got to say I personally appreciated the side-story more this time, with you guys, because the first time it felt very random and somewhat disconnected from the story in the game, for me. I know they tie together nearer the end, but I think what I really missed out on was the Dante-reference. The story makes a lot more sense when you know about this, in my opinion. Thanks Surge, never knew about that!
Yes! I was surprised as well to learn about the Dante's Inferno connection. I am happy I stumbled upon it by accident when preparing to show rob the logs haha
Serge, all I can say is well freaking done. Your dedication to this series is beyond what I first expected when I started watching you guys. I’ve watched a lot of people play through the Halo series for the first time and honestly, out of all the others, I enjoy watching you guys the most. Not only cause I get to see Rob play through Halo for the first time but also cause of how patient you are with him and you always try to be knowledgeable, but not pushy. You know, in a way, you’re kind of like Vergil to Rob’s Dante with how you’ve been guiding him through this series. Making sure he doesn’t miss anything but also making sure it isn’t too hard for him to get through. It’s just… it’s freaking awesome. I absolutely love you guys and I cannot wait for each new upload you guys make with this series 🥹
This was great to read, and I am so happy to hear!! I have loved watching let's plays growing up, and there have been a few where I saw to much backseat driving so I try to keep a good balance since I want him to enjoy the game and experience it for himself. Thank you for following along with us! 😊
I didn't know that the audio logs was inspired by the book, that's so interesting. The way that the game was made I think it's brilliant. I hope that this new halo studios give us another odst game, would be awesome. Thanks for the video, nice content. 👍

I think you missed the alternate cutseen where they find the engineer in the data center if you find all the logs
Oh yes you're right, I think I remember that alternate cutscene. With Dare and the Rookie
@@x2zchat You did but not much is changed, Rookie has Dare lower her weapon instead of vice versa.
