@@DeepikaGinger the reason they didn’t wear them in battle is because the Armor the actors wore was really heavy and they could barley move around in them.
The despairing look exchanged between Bilbo and Balin at 1:05 says so much. They had a great, low-key friendship throughout the films. The Hobbit trilogy was full of problems, but what it got right, it got very right. I wish BOFA could've had just one of those million codas like ROTK had, if only to see Balin visiting Bilbo again... before Moria. ;_; How much more emotional that would have been, with these two great performances and having bonded so closely due to Thorin; the films made it very believable that visiting Bilbo again would be something Balin would want to do. That scene could have been emotionally equal to the Hobbits drinking together again in the Shire. I do love their goodbye at the entrance to Erebor, though. Pitch perfect acting.
Yes, though the film did not show Balin visiting the Shire again, I am sure he and Gandalf visited Bilbo again off screen. Actually, I wonder if Balin ever told Bilbo his interest in Moria when he visited him at the Shire. I know he had not planned to go their when he visited Bilbo, but surely he had some thought about Moria by that time.
Thorin himself said he would take those 13 dwarves over an army from the Iron Hills, because they answered the call when no one else would, this scene is so epic because it shows he meant it
Thorin was suffering from Dragon sickness, it's crazy how people are applauding his greed, his grandfather stole Thranduil's late wife's necklace. Lied to Bard and went back on his word. Nothing epic about a liar who went back on his word.
I love the versatility of the Lake-Town theme music! First it was really subtle and tragic, and now it's all suspenseful and budding heroic. Simply genius composing.
How ironic that a petty squabble between Dwarves, Men, and Elves over treasure helped prepare them for war against an army of Orcs and ultimately saved Middle-Earth.
A nice detail is Balin's disappointed expression when he looks at his armour and Gloin's shared sympathy. Also Fili doesn't seem to be carrying or wearing anything, instead prioritising his younger brother
MUSIC. Still can't over it. Absolutely magnificent. Going to start LOTR and Hobbit soon in preparation for the upcoming Rings of Power Series. As a massive Game of Thrones fan, this will be a journey. Wish me luck.
There are things I absolutely hated about these movies (Legolas' and Tauriel's inclusion, Beorn's relegation, etc.), but the scene from 1:50 onwards...simply amazing. Howard Shore does it again, his music highlighting the grim determination of both dwarves and humans as both races reclaim the weapons of their heritage and prepare for battle. When PJ wanted to, he could create some great scenes.
1:48 We attack at dawn... You know what, on second thought, ARCHERS FIRE! NOW! ... alright, find me a ladder, there's just a bunch of head-shooted midgets in there.
One thing is an slight advantage: When the Orcs will come, they won't meet an unarmed rabble, but a great host of armed elves plus armed dwarves and willing fishermen and their soldiers. Though, can someone explain this to me: "If Thorin and the Dwarves of Erebor here are arming themselves so fiercely with strong armour and good weapons, why did they not wear it during the battle?"
Lara, you might as well upload the whole movie? I have not yet had the pleasure of watching the 3rd 'Hobbit' installment, but these clips have been ruining it for me. It's too difficult to avoid them! :/
Now think of to WHY Smaug attacked LakeTown remember the dwarfs sent Bilbo in first instead of going themselves. given they knew Smaug was big and dangerous. what i mean by step on is that remember the conversation he had and not giving up some of the money that was promised. that's pretty greedy if you ask me. Not saying all Dwarfs are bad. I liked how Bilbo gave the kinds Jewel to Thranduil that was pretty cool
I like Thorin but disliked him in this movie. He won't even give back the riches he promised. People always complain by saying that it would be in exchange for their freedom as if bard and thranduil wouldn't take what was theirs and leave. Thranduil's white gems of pure starlight which belonged to his wife is what he wanted. Thorins father kept them from him so he has a right to be angry. Bard made a deal with the dwarves and like he said all they brought was ruins on death on the city. The dwarves claimed they retook erebor but really Bilbo was the one that went in there and bard was the one that killed smaug. The dwarves and especially Thorin are just being greedy and selfish by not thinking about the children that are starving from lake town
Why tho why Thorin avoid war just avoid it Also Thranduil is right they just understand war for this Although i laugh when Tranduil said"They only understand one thing"and pulls his sword out then says"We attack at dawn" the look on Bard
Because dawn is the beginning of the day, allowing the longest possible battle duration, rather than starting at say noon where you only have half a day of sunlight left. At dawn the sun is also pretty mild, so you have a few hours to skirmish before the real heat of day comes. Also when armies face up the one with the sun in their eyes is at a disadvantage, at dawn this is more or less nullfied. tl;dr dawn is the best possible time to start a fight.
Love that little look between Balin and Gloin almost as if to say "here we go again old friend"
👌
The dwarves wearing their fathers' armors... Pure epicness
Indeed
Would have been nice if they’d actually worn them for the battle. Then some of them might not have died
All except Balin, he wore his own.
@@DeepikaGinger the reason they didn’t wear them in battle is because the Armor the actors wore was really heavy and they could barley move around in them.
@@lukekiely2450lmao thats a logical reason
Balin is like "damnit i am too old for wargames"
Ok

You put it really well. There are things that I really don’t like about the hobbit trilogy, but there are some really nice aspects to it as well.
"It means Master Baggins, you should never underestimate dwarfs" - Thorin Oakenshield! He is soooo brilliant. It is such a pity that he died.....
👌
Somehow I love the way Thranduil says 'Such a pity. At least you tried',,,
'Still you tried.' ;-)
It's because he is slightly pleased at the fact he gets to attack the dwarves
Thranduil is one of my favorite characters, he has some killer one liners.
love that line from Thorin: "You should never underestimated dwarves"
Words to live by
love how the music changes from the laketown music to the sons of Durin song at 2:00 and onwards
1:50-2:28 AWESOME MUSIC!!! Simply Epic!
Ikr my favourite part of the music was 2:09 onwards
Dom Swinchin it was
it's just awesome dwarf chanting!
Sam Jenkins and it gave me shrills
Absolutely memorable.. gives me goosebumps everytime i hear it. Anyone know the name of the soundtrack btn 1:50-2:28 ?? Thanks. Cheers :)
Thorin himself said he would take those 13 dwarves over an army from the Iron Hills, because they answered the call when no one else would, this scene is so epic because it shows he meant it
And he meant it later when he's back to his senses and apologizes
Thorin was suffering from Dragon sickness, it's crazy how people are applauding his greed, his grandfather stole Thranduil's late wife's necklace. Lied to Bard and went back on his word. Nothing epic about a liar who went back on his word.
That transition from Laketown to Erebor theme is beautifull.

Its scenes like this is why I loved the hobbit
👌
2:09 Although I am fanatic of LOTR since 2000 I always like that part here that PJ gave to us
"We attack at dawn" !!!!! Thranduil is just awesome!
1:45 feel the viration of awesomeness.
Thranduil Oropherion ok
"not to mention several hundred angry fishermen." laughed out so loud at this scene in the cinemas :P anyone else do the same?
Patrick McKeown I nearly fell off my chair!!!!!!!!!!!
Bilbo and Thorin really have the best lines in this film!!!!!!!!
How ironic that a petty squabble between Dwarves, Men, and Elves over treasure helped prepare them for war against an army of Orcs and ultimately saved Middle-Earth.
Thirteen dwarves and a hobbit vs thousands of elves and "several hundred angry fishermen".
If I was Bilbo I think Thorin was crazy too.
When Thorin said,"Not for much longer.",he meant that an army of Dwarves are coming.
Bilbo's face though when Thorin said that.
Daìn,his cousin. On his way from the iron mountains.
When the dwarves armour up Its like christmas
A nice detail is Balin's disappointed expression when he looks at his armour and Gloin's shared sympathy. Also Fili doesn't seem to be carrying or wearing anything, instead prioritising his younger brother
The music... beautiful.
1:54-2:29 the best part.
+Cody V. Munoz WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SONG
Jan Ype De Jong searched it'd up, and the name of the song is called Mithril
Thanks
No problem.
this scene is one of the best in the series hands down! Talk about goosebumps

Hey I hoped you watched extended edition of LOTR and the Hobbit? What did you think?
@@Hoosrice13 hey. im very sorry. i havent even BEGUN.
i hope to watch the entire universe one day, just got a lot on my mind. summer for sure!
I don't think the third part of this comment aged very well. :P
Gloin approves of Balin's armor.. 2:22
"Not to Mention, Several Hundred *ANGRY* FisherMen!" 😂🤣🤣😂
I like the armor that Balin picks up, reminds me of Roman Lorica Segmentata.
That scene from 0:02..reminds me of Aragorn in the Two Towers, when he rides to Hemsdeep
Elselina Ben Hadj Ahmeok
"not for much longer"-
The look on Bilbo's face=👌
If 300 Spartans can hold off an army of millions I believe thirteen dwarves and a hobbit can hold against thousands of elves and men
Well the Persian army was only about 120,000 strong both in movie and real life...
it's not known the exact amount
@@desmondng5375 the whole army was double, 120000 were xerxes army alone
Arm them all with mithril armour, defending a small entrance with a wall and a moat. They certainly could.
Elves aren't idiots, they wouldn't rush headlong into a fortified position. They're not stupid. Even the Gundabad Orcs aren't that stupid.
Amazingly interesting that Bard and the Laketown people found weapons in Dale with them armoring themselves for battle.
1:58 is very cool how the music changes
Someone knows the name of the song when Thorin says "Now we defend it"?
SONS OF DURIN, is like this but more least
Thorin, if you CAN avoid a war, then you SHOULD avoid a war.
👌
Never trust an elf!
1:56, WEAPONS!!!
Never underestimate dwarfs you got that people never underestimate dwarfs

music. gives me goosebumps still. cant wait to begin LOTR, the Hobbit, then the Rings of Power.
Still GoT and HoTD 4L.
If they'd kept all that armor on, then maybe everyone would have survived this battle.

Yeah, I know. Just wondering why! (In the books 'he came out in royal armour, as were his companions and none could stand against them!'
Idk maybe some of it is heavy
WILDFIRE101
Ah, that could be. In fact, that's what makes most sense. They needed to move quickly in battle, so yeah...
Yes it does. And maybe the only wore the armor for defense cause they might've thought the elves would fire arrows and the armor might protect them.

U can watch it on putlocker.com
the music at the end is mithril and sons of durin extended loop
i just wanna see the full scene
Ethan Boholst ok
Bilbo should have left those greedy dwarfs to rot in the cells in Mirkwood. Though i know why he freed them. he's got a big heart.
Those greedy dwarves where working towards restoring their people to glory.
yeah i know no matter what r whom they had to step on to do it. however still not a fan of them.
Mavis BeiFong
The dwarves didn'tstep on anyone. Smaug attacking laketown wasn't intentional. Thranduil is the beligerant one.
That was Bilbo's job...
Thorin didn't do anything questionable untill elves and men demanded some of his people's wealth at spearpoint.

This movie is like what would happen if World War One became World War Two in one battle
Why tho why Thorin avoid war just avoid it
