Yea I hope they do more then just add resistance requirement to make raids harder it’s kinda meh, tbh I don’t even think there should be more difficulty levels in sod raiding, just speed run it if you want a challenge you know, I completely agree with pvp being bad, I’m heavily a pvp player and this phase has by far been the worse phase in terms of pvp, wpvp is still decentish, but av and the brm even have completely killed wsg and ab queues, not to mention horrible balance of classes.
honestly i think incursions are the number 1 reason sod fell off so hard, it legit killed the game for alot of people, launch ST was also a massive issue, if there was no phase 3 and it went straight from 40 to 60 i think SoD would have been a success since phase 4 PvE has been really enjoyable
Why are incursions the number 1 reason p3 fell off? Most people used incursions to lvl from 40-50 or fresh alts. I hardly saw more than 3 groups in feralas any hour I was there on one of the 2 most populated EU realms. I didn't see anyone complaining when they went from 40-50 in 6 hours and made hundreds of gold instead of going through the classic lvling way of spamming cath then uldaman then zf. So how exactly did it kill the phase? After all, incursions was not the endgame content of p3, mostly a way to get to the endgame content instead. You didn't even have to geet to exalted with incurssions rep either. When people dinged 50, they went straight into brd farming, princess runs , stv and that's it. After that there was only bgs or raid. The only problem with incursions is that it didn't provide us with a decent endgame to spend our time into outside the raids but that's a very hard thing to make anyway. Did it kill the phase though? No. Bad timing killed the phase. Historically we see a drop off after 4-5 weeks into a phase , same happened with p3. Then 2 months after the phase we had mop remix and cata classic at the same time, ofcourse people would hop over to that.
I don't disagree with you, but if i take a "classic" mind set, a big part of classic is the lvling grind (even tho i dont think is any good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) so in removing it you remove a big part of the game

There was some cool stuff about SoD but it lost its "classic" feel after phase 1. Some of the rune quests were absolute pain in the butt to do, incursions were terrible and broke the natural progression, power creep made most of the original quests and dungeons way too easy, XP boost made it about getting to the current level cap then grinding the same raid into the ground for weeks on end instead of enjoying the best part of vanilla which is the leveling. There was some cool rune quests, I liked the sleeping bag quest line in particular, and the updated versions of "classic" gear was ok, but SoD missed the mark, and ya I know it was meant to be an experiment but if Blizz decides to do a classic plus I pray its nothing like SoD.
yep, SOD went downhill after Phase 1. Phase 2 was alright, at this point I was complaining at how P1 gear carried us till gnomer. Then phase 3 happened. No reason to level or farm gold outside incursions. That killed so many aspects of the classic experience.

I jumped into SoD 2 weeks before phase 4 launched so i could get on par with others atleast level wise and because playing WoW and not being max level is pointless. The experience so far is mostly positive atleast for pve. The various MC difficulties are not needed imo but you dont have to play at max difficulty to get the best gear so it's whatever. And i do also believe having more the just dual spec is a good thing, say you can have spec for all the specialisations And with all that said, i feel that if they are going to make classic+, a better version of classes needs to be a part of it, and the new items

@@StevenBonez You do realize that doing minimal changes to memes classes isn't going to help them at all be viable. Taking logged raids as an indicator for sod population and popularity is heavily flawed. Logged raids do NOT account for alts and do not normalize lockout times either. It should go without saying that there is a lot more raids being logged on a level 20 raid with a 3 day lockout than on a level 60 raid with a 7 day lockout. Twinking was way more accessible during phase 1, which heavily inflated the phase 1 statistics. Please stop using this misleading graph as a clickbait thumbnail, ty.
keep the raids at 10 man and watch it gaining people to play it again. all the way to naxx and also have a currency like the one we have now to collect the rest of tier set . your problem will be solved :)
Firstly: you are absolutely spot on with your assesment. step one: do a fresh no changes 2019 style vanilla launch with standard phasing step two: take all that time a fresh vanilla launch provides to do a proper classic+, which means minimal changes to the classes and only where necessary, use time instead to build horizontal content. more quests, more dungeons, more raids but nothing exceeding naxx power level. they will never manage to do a proper classic+ in line with vanilla because as soon as they open the box of pandora doing any changes, the never ending draw to do more and more and more will kill it eventually. The only reason vanilla works is because there is a "hands off" ethos preventing blizzard from changing it too much. that ethos goes out the window with classic+ because they are free to do changes.
The problem with fresh is it's popular for a few months then it drops hard. IMO they have to do a Classic+ with tons of new content so people stayed engaged and they can continue to add to it
Phase 4 has been great honestly, the fact we're almost a month into the phase and it's still pretty healthy is a good thing. Phase 3 was an unecessary pit-stop.

@@tarmen5662 vanilla wow isn’t perfect for sure, but at the end of the day it’s still my favorite version of wow to play, and to pvp in, pvp isn’t perfect but with things like engineering and certain trinkets and stuff it makes classes feel a lot closer then they are, idk I love vanilla wow pvp I think it’s fun as fuck.
I don't understand the dislikement of the new abilities, or i understand the problem with balance and the way you get them, i don't think the rune system is a good one after the current phase is over, but doing the phase is can be a bit fun to get them, but overall i don't like the rune system, the way it works made me not want to make a alt.
But you make it sound like is just a bad idea to make classes more "interesting" (not only using frostball, for a example)
And having the classes more balance just sounds like a good idea, so you can play whatever you find fun, and not feel like playing 30 warriors is the best way, so some big changes to numbers/classes need to happen (even tho SoD classes are not balance)
And the power scaling is way out there, for many different reasons, and one of them are items having good stats, and it feels good to play a leather user, and not have warriors need on leather items all the time.
And i do also believe having more the just dual spec is a good thing, say you can have spec for all the specialisations
And with all that said, i feel that if they are going to make classic+, a better version of classes needs to be a part of it, and the new items
@@Sylnix. I just feel like most classes in vanilla don’t really need to change much, the runes in sod made the game feel completely different in my opinion, the game got faster paced, way way more dps pve wise, and I feel like a lot of the vanilla wow charm kinda got taken out of the game aside from social aspects still being important, I feel like that’s the one thing blizzard still did decent in SoD
@@StevenBonez You do realize that doing minimal changes to memes classes isn't going to help them at all be viable. There is a reason why they put these runes from other expansion, because those abilities made those memes classes much better and viable. They should also change the talents to be better as well, because the classic talents are horrible. I don't understand how people like you do not understand it just bogles my mind. It's sad. Also " I feel a lot of the vanilla wow charm kinda got take out of the game." What it was never taken off the game in the first place in SoD, its still there.
@@dakhaos588 it would be interesting to see the Cata talents in a SoD 2, and just ditch the runes.
@@StevenBonez the dps gains are not just from the runes (even tho some of them are overtuned), is more the gains from "good"/"real" stats on gear to your classes and everyone having all the buffs.
And I don't understand the "the game got faster paced" do you mean the lvling/gearing/grinds or playing you classe ?
@@Sylnix. everything about it, the game is completely different the vanilla in almost every way, besides the talents and the open world, it doesn’t feel anything like classic to me, that’s just my opinion though, if you’re enjoying the game that’s totally fine, but I just wasn’t liking the game at all anymore
Firstly: you are absolutely spot on with your assesment.
step one: do a fresh no changes 2019 style vanilla launch with standard phasing
step two: take all that time a fresh vanilla launch provides to do a proper classic+, which means minimal changes to the classes and only where necessary, use time instead to build horizontal content. more quests, more dungeons, more raids but nothing exceeding naxx power level.
they will never manage to do a proper classic+ in line with vanilla because as soon as they open the box of pandora doing any changes, the never ending draw to do more and more and more will kill it eventually. The only reason vanilla works is because there is a "hands off" ethos preventing blizzard from changing it too much. that ethos goes out the window with classic+ because they are free to do changes.
The problem with fresh is it's popular for a few months then it drops hard. IMO they have to do a Classic+ with tons of new content so people stayed engaged and they can continue to add to it
I dont get this sentiment
I play on Living Flame PVP and it's actually crowded as fuck
AV is real pvp not that wsg trash
to me, who can rush a boss down the fastest isn't pvp lol.
