    Top level skills, to the point where I have to say I don't like 'the modern mixing sound' at all. Everything is so cleaned out, surgical, compressed to the max... We are trying to achieve 'the natural sound' using analog simulations, but at the same time killing all the dynamics and possibly interesting artifacts. What drum machines and mouse-clicking the melodies did to the music composition, modern mixing sound does to the overall sound of the song.

    • @edub9930
      @edub9930 2 месяца назад +1

      I agree. Everything sounds synthetic, robotic & the same. Spot on observation on all the dynamics essentially getting obliterated all in the name of achieving that "perfect sound" 👍

  • @rundajulesproductions7735
    @rundajulesproductions7735 2 месяца назад

    All you do is button on, or off? There is + or - 24 on the knob. Did you just not want to use it on this track, or do you not use the knob to push it? Honestly most of the moves you are making are too subtle to hear. Maybe it is sounding different to you when you are making it but Y.T. is compressing the whole audio when you upload and it makes it harder to hear the small changes you are trying to demonstrate many times. I think if you are going to use the H legacy eq it is really just a digital eq. I mean everything is on a computer, but I mean it is completely linear, I think, as opposed to having any "color'/non-linearities that some emulations of analog eq's have. I will check it out sometime. Thanks for the recommendation!

    • @kinghandlee
      @kinghandlee  2 месяца назад +1

      1, Thanks for you suggestion
      2, I tried to push the drive knob, but it's easy to be distorted. So I gave up on twisting it.
      3, I didn't say anything good about the EQ, as you said, it's just a linear EQ. All the magic of this plugin, comes from the drive function and only the drive function.

    • @kinghandlee
      @kinghandlee  2 месяца назад +2

      Well, I have just tried it. Firstly, it's just a bus processor, not a channel strip. I don't think you can use only two band EQ or an incomplete parameter compressor on a "channel". Secondly, it's good for buses but not that good to beat any other channel strip plugin. I was looking for sound that's close to analog, not some nice digital sound.

    Pro Tools needs like a million quality of life improvements..
    . Just simple workflow things. There's no way I would use that anymore... "Industry standard" has turned into really complacent. Harrison channel strip has basically no nonlinearities to speak of. It's the worst kind of snake oil in my opinion. Sorry for bringing so much negativity but. I'm really surprised you like it
