@rustypaperclip - Oh yes, indeed; Japan has a wonderful selection of breads & unique sweets. I'm planning a pastry video very soon... Thanks for watching & am I wrong, or have you been around since beginning of EMJ?
On Emmy's shows, one not only learns about candy diversity, but also history/customs of unqiue world cultures--much more interesting than a history book--and so much more delicious!!
@ItsNotMeItsSammieZ - Awe man, I actually mentioned it in the video but edited it out since it was getting too long. It's a just a cheap silvery polish from Daiso called Alpha Rainbow by Winmax.
Really enjoying exploring your older videos! Always appreciate expanding our knowledge of other countries, cultures, languages, foods, etc! I love how curious you are and how you describe everything! Your appreciation of things! The phrase you say before eating!
Oh! The gumballs! When my sister and I were younger, our mother would take us to this wonderful Japanese restaurant, and they would always give a few packs of those gumballs at the end of the meal. The orange ones were my favorite. Such lovely memories :-)
Those giant Cheeto logs look really good. I went to a place called Jungle Jim’s in Cincinnati the other day and got SO many Japanese and Korean snacks and candies. 😋😋😋
Your videos are so much fun to watch, and educational too! Thank you. I wish we had snack packs like this in the USA. Japan has some of the neatest food items and wrappings I've ever seen!
Emmy - could you please do more conbini foods? Other channels show things, but don't actually open/eat/evaluate them. You do a great job of sharing flavors and textures. It's helpful so I know what to get at my local Asian market. Thanks!
0o0 2:30 so awesome! my onee-san & I were making ramen once when I was about 5 & she was 9, we werent allowed to use the oven so we would put the pot on top of our woodstove when there was a fire going & make things that way- & this one time when we were scooping some out we accidently droped a ladelfull on the oven top & it started sizzling & browned & we scooped it back up before it burned & ate the evidence so we wouldnt get in trouble & it was all crispy & we loved it! looks just like it!
all those savory snacks and lolly's reminded me of my childhood... ahhh good memories, eating those them... showing off to friends that you had something cool and different from them.
The bubble gum at the end is heavenly, i used to buy one pack that had little boxes of different flavors. And those ramen things, they were my childhood! c:
i love those orange gums and there are a pack of them with many varieties and i remember when i was in 1st grade i would eat all the different varieties and chew a big bubble! i love those gums
We have those jelly-like tubes in Australia.. we put them in the freezer and when we take them out of the freezer we let them thaw a bit before eating them. so yum
The gum at the end actually comes in strawberry, melon, and grape too. My favorite were the grape flavored ones. I always looked forward to trips to the Asian grocery store because of that gum!
i tried the same orange gum candy in america and also tried the other flavors: straberry, melon, grape, and cantaloupe. i tried the same ramen u mentioned. the lollipop with the girl on the wrapper, there is a candy with her face. theres a dog and boy 2, but ive never tried it. we also have shrimp chips, also crunchy and look the same as the 1 in ur video but the packaging is different. there is another strimp chip aka pawn crackers. can find all these snacks in an asian market and Chinatown.
@emmymadeinjapan I have a quick question! Do you know of any websites where I might be able to order some of the snacks that you've reviewed so far, like the GummiX?
Thanks Emmy, for all your wonderful videos! I enjoy watching them! I've always been curious about the culture and foods in Japan, and you're getting to do what I would love to do, lol. I was thrilled that you posted the video of your visit to Kiyomizudera 清水寺, I was in awe of the beautiful architecture and culture. Some day, I'm going to visit Japan. I'm not sure when, and which area I'll explore.... But I'll think back to the video you made and smile, and make some videos of my own! ^_^
Ah! Shrimp chips. Definitely a big part of my snack-eating childhood too~ Straw form is my favorite, but my mom's been buying the "chip" form more [not that she buys them often anyway]. And as soon as I saw the little box with the orange, I knew it was gum! I totally forgot about that kind of gum, I love that stuff~ I use to just pour it into my mouth and chew away. And we use to get buckets of jelly straws too. ;3 This video really made me miss my childhood, haha.
Loving the multiple update. That was neat! Looking at the pictures you took in the blog, there are a lot of neat packaging everywhere. Are there anymore do it yourself foods that you haven't done? Those are always fun. I also see a lot of anime based treats in the pictures, what are those?
