Tomax and Xamot wrested control of the Crimson Guards and built a Crimson faction around it. They needed more basic soldiers too and it makes sense that they would pull some of the troopers/Vipers in with them. When you don't need to allocate an elite unit to do some ground pounding, you have the Crimson Vipers. As a toy, for its repaint custom uses, and for my head canon it's just fine. They also look sick as hell riding a COIL (solo or in tandem with Baroness). I have one Crimson BAT almost exclusively for the cobra logo chest plates that look WAY better on a regular BAT. Also the black head swap onto the Crimson BAT body looks better and I use it as my BAT flame trooper.
Favorite for me is Snow Job. He was my fave of the ARAH line. I love this version’s versatility. His gear is great so you can have him on skis or snowshoes or neither. Sniper or laser rifle or pistol, hood or no hood. I like to switch up how my Classified figs look in my display case so lots of great options for him. He was also the one figure that made me decide to pull the trigger and jump into Classified collecting.
Great list! I just got into the line in December of '23 I can absolutely relate to all of those impossible to reasonably obtain figures from last year.
Even in the US military special forces there's elites within the elites. See Seal Team 6, etc. That said, I'm not a huge fan of the crimson viper... I'm not a huge fan of repaints outside of the Night Force. Those are pretty decent. Edit: Cobra Eel is one of the best figures of the year... but Eel is one of my favorite characters ever. (Either way, he should be above the repaints.)

While I actually do love Tiger Force and Python Patrol a lot more than you do, this was a very solid list with good explanations for your likes and dislikes. There were some surprises in your rankings that were welcome ones. For me, it was the Steel Brigade (Corps) and General Hawk that got me interested in the line, and it's ballooned from there. I also remember eyeing that Scrap-Iron a few times before going "all in" on collecting. Very much looking forward to your 2024 list. And thinking even further into the future - perhaps when they hopefully make a Battle Armor Cobra Commander, we could get an alternate Fred head that also fits on a CG. Bonus if we get a Maskless Cobra Commander alternate head too as a nod to the comics of that time.

I had no idea. I can't believe I learned something so useful looking at watching this channel! Outback is one of my all-time favorite Joes. I haven't bought any since I was a kid except for the super cheap Classified Baroness and Scarlet for my girls because they looked cool, but I've had my eye on Outback and Tiger Force Outback. My girls think The Tiger Force version rocks and want me to get it.
Love that this was 2023! Not gonna lie, I can't collect these Classified figures (money, did this hard as a kid, too old, my own kids, money...) but I can always dream a little. I might buy ten total figures, maybe. So, I did watch this thinking about which two or three might I buy. Right on with Scrap Iron. He's my number one from this group. Two and three are Outback and Shipwreck. Vypra and Shadow Tracker are the other Cobras I would consider buying. They are awesome additions to the current toy line that I would have loved as a kid. Agent Helix is a maybe. She's a cool figure. Balls for putting her in your top five for 2023. I think Cover Girl is gorgeous and Hasbro did her justice. I had her back in the day and rarely took her out.

i got 20 out of 59 and maybe 10 more i would've liked to have but with the hasbro and walmart exclusive is pretty hard to do! You have to get that Crimson BAT and put that cool head that came with the Artic BAT, its a nice fit. Its funny you put General Hawk and Buzzer "next" to each other, cause when i lost Buzzers glasses i took Hawks extra goggles and it fits perfectly... and i had no idea Rippers jaw of life weapon could open, a Joe's head is definitely going in there!
OOF! You are right! That Falcon head sculpt is awful! The over all effect for me is: He wasn’t given the love he deserved. Took me a year JUST to get my 1:6 Falcon done right; including the head sculpt that matched best the characters artwork features. Only reason, again, that I do not collect the new Hasbro cash grab is the 12 inch collection investment.🤣✌️🤘🇨🇦
Nice list, I would put Grunt higher, and I'm not a fan of Helix. But I do agree, Duke looks too young. Several others, too. Retro characters should come with their retro gear.
Ok here's my take on python patrol because I stopped watching with the movie. Joe's beat Cobra la, but the world was still devastated by the smouldering spires. Python patrol is the remnants of Cobra using Cobra la tech to cloak (ala predator) it's units. My python patrol figures are in my Cobra la section.
You got lucky. Range viper is notoriously hard to find. You can get one if you want to pay 2-3 times its worth. Which I did for Serpentor, but I haven't yet for the range viper
I personally hated the movie. Didn't care for Falcon as a character. So I wasn't too torn up that he was the ugliest figure ever. Easy pass for so many reasons. No Python Patrol, no Tiger Force, no Mad Marauders for me. I aged out by the time that stuff started to come out. I prefer the originals way more. I need to 3D print the Eel's OG weapon. That was a massive fail by the Joe team to not make that again. I mean how do you supposedly "update" "modernize" a character and don't include a weapon that was futuristic on a 80''s figure and just give a 2023 character a weapon made before I was born. I normal spear gun? I one shot spear gun? The hell? Covergirl was decent, but I upgraded mine with a custom sculpt I made for myself. I am thinking about painting my Shipwreck to make his hair a little darker. I feel like it should be darker... just me? Only reason I got the Steel Brigade is for the jet packs. And still regret buying them. The figures themselves are trash. NO human head would fit in those helmets. They are too small and shaped weird. half a human head would barely fit. They could have been done better. I rather have some basic Green shirts looking more like Grunt. Good list overall. Was fun to watch.

I mean every figure gets "It's a good figure but my only problem with it is" and then you move on without talking about the good stuff. You sound so depressed. If you have multiple grunts put one on falcons body it looks way better (falcons beret fits the head fine ) I’ve heard Star dusters head is great also

Nah, its a ranking. So the bad stuff is naturally in the lead. If you watch all the way through, the last half is basically a love fest.
