The tail is removeable. Just push on the button beneath the tail and give give the tail a firm tug. The button on the bottoom helps to recess the pins in the tail so the tail can be pulled out.
🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for the shout outs 😂 I don’t think people really get how massive that APC is as I’m staring at my dragonfly right now. Which means that Skystriker is ridiculous. They both look phenomenal, but I don’t want Hasbro to make them. I have no space!!!
I didnt know i needed a Haslab Skystriker until i just saw this video. Now i know and knowing is half your paycheck!! Great video looks like u guys had fun!! APC might be a realistic posiblility for a future haslab, looks amazing!!
HELL YEAH I want Haslab DREAM PROJECTS!! If Star Wars can have the Sail Barge, GI Joe can damn sure have the MORAY, a Skystriker and the other stuff!!! Dream projects, not "this could have been retail" projects!!!!!
Put card board around the connection point preventing the tail from locking in, then you can pull it out. It can be anything but you just want to keep the tabs from locking down
Thanks for sharing your playtime with those amazing toy vehicles and yes, realistically we are reaching the threshold of what we can comfortably have in 1:12 scale for our classified vehicles...we don't own huge homes 😕
There's a large rectangular (well concealed) button on the underside of the tail. Press the button, pull the tail. Note: The button doesn't really "click".
I want a Classified Sky Striker. That said… at this size, they literally make RC jets that actually fly. Some company should just make an F14 Tomcat RC plane, and set up another company to sell decals. Boom, done.
Okay, no way I have space for the Skystriker, but I would damn sure find space for that APC. A thing of beauty. I did get the HISS and Dragonfly, but I did pass on the Rattler because of size, and with the Dragonfly in hand, it was a good call, struggling to find a spot for DF. Great review, glad to see you back, I love your reviews, need to see more.
They did the Eternia playset. That was massive. Clearly, Hasbro doesn't care if you have shelf or floor space or not. It's obvious they could do a Skystriker if they wanted to and if Hasbro wants money bad enough, they'll do it.
As soon as I saw the Skystriker and seeing how big one could be all I could see in my head was Gene Wilder as Dr Frankenstein yelling, "IT......COULD......WORK!!!!"
That Skystriker needs some seat belts to strap the pilot down, the way they were rockin back in forth they'd die if they took to many G's.🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great review sir and glad your back making videos.
It really threw me to see a Hiss with a Classic Canopy.. so many people seemed to go with the helicopter style canopy on it it looks really unusual like that to me.
The skystriker is huge! I think if it was a haslab it would cost around $600 though. Also I wish there was a comparison in size between the APC and the Vamp
What a fantastic review. I can tell you guys are just having so much fun. Great coverage of the scale issue. You have so many great examples. Thanks for taking the effort to get them all side by side. Personally, it's too much for me. I just can't see displaying, keeping and storing such large toys, but they are amazing pieces. Great video. You had me laughing out loud several times. I just subscribed.
I could possibly make room for a Classified Skystriker. Wife would absolutely not be happy but i would back it day 1. I want a Skystiker more than any other vehicle even if i have to store it in the closet.
That is a Great Looking Sky Striker! I am a BIG FAN of the F-14 Tomcat and I was lucky enough to have been at NAS Oceana for their Final Homecoming after their Final Cruise while I was service in the Navy. The F-14 is a MASIVE Aircraft in comparison with a F/A-18 or F-16 the Proportions that were used to make the 1/12 Scale Sky Striker are a Little Off but it would be AWESOME to get one Specially with VF-84/103 Jolly Roger! I have a Diecast 1/72 scale of the F-14 Tomcat with VF-84 markings and I also purchased the Sky Striker Haslab that was available three years ago. If Hasbro had people in charge of the G.I. Joe Line that actually had any imagination instead of just taking all the stuff from the 80s and making it bigger they would be working on a F-22 Raptor in 1/12 Scale which could be made about the same length as the Dragonfly and just about the same width when the Rotors are perpendicular to the Airframe. The Original Dragonfly was designed from the wish list that the USMC had for their AH-1 Cobra Copters to make them into Super Cobras and the Hasbro people talked to the Bell Helicopter people that were working on the Upgrade packages for the Sea Cobra into the Super Cobra into the Viper which is the Current model. If you look at the Viper of Today you can see how much it looks like the Dragonfly of 1983. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_AH-1_SuperCobra en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_AH-1Z_Viper The Cobra never got the NOTAR system but it got pretty much everything else that the Dragonfly had. The Current bunch of idiots at Hasbro could have added the Forward Looking IR targeting pod on the Nose which would have made the Dragonfly look MEANER or even added the four rotor system that folds and fits within the length of the Airframe. It is details like that and the fact that Hasbro cannot deliver the stuff on time that is really frustrating!
First, thank you for your service. But yes I like modern interpretations of what we had as kids, not just upscaled versions. I feel like they modernized the HISS just enough.
if you wrapped the locking tabs in teflon tape, tight AF, it may keep the tabs depressed whilst the tail is mounted and the tap doesn’t have adhesives. theoretically it can work.
Hasbro made a Sail Barge, a giant AT-AT and a immense Millennium Falcon for Star Wars, a line that has astronomical licensing fees. Hasbro can make a bigass Skystriker or a Hovercraft no problem for they awesome in-house brand.
A Classified scale Skystriker would undoubtedly be awesome, but... This video confirms all my reluctance. It would cost so much and be impracticably large. I don't know how I could display it other than hanging it from the ceiling, and if I did that I wouldn't be able to see the top or Ace in the cockpit, and then what's the point?
That Skystriker build is beautiful! Yes, it's huge! If you get a chance to play with it again, I'd love to see the Dragonfly held above it for a real sense of scale. The Dragonfly is huge, but that looks so much larger with the width too. But yeah... I don't know where I'd put it. 😆
Thank you for the video. Those 3D printed and third party Classified vehicles look AMAZING! I might be in the minority on this but since we already got a Haslab Skystriker which I have even though it is 3 3/4" scale I would rather have that Haslab slot be filled with a 3 3/4" scale Defiant Space Shuttle Complex. That would be a dream project for me. BTW I also backed the Dragonfly and the Rattler.
@ no, thank you sir, you completely came outta a different bag with this one like the vamp video you did -“you outside” brother 😂 But man that skystriker in classified scale was the mark and stole the show. That is a beautiful work of art. NGL, if yall decide to make them to order, I am def going to be making moves to secure a few just to have them. I think I’d like them more. Aside from pulse adding a few lights and a couple tiers I don’t see their version (should they ever decide to make the sky striker in 1:12 scale) that much different from the perfection you all demoed in this review. Chefs kiss to the collector who’s making these in 1:12 scale. That’s some serious skill and precision, no doubt about it
That was awesome! So 43”? That’s just a little bigger than Haslab Galactus. So price is $450-500 range…. Oh heck yes I buy that! They could shrink it a bit like they did the Rattler. Maybe a few inches off wing span and length. It’s still $450+. I guess we’ll see in 2025 if they follow Joe turn and do Armor, Jet, or playset. Oh great googlie mooglie I want a Classified Skyhawk. Please Hasbro. Fall 2025? It may be 2026 as there’s already so many rumored things in 2025: Fang, AWE Striker, Thunder machine, and Devil Fish. We’ll see. 2024 yielded Ferret, Stinger, Dragonfly, and Tiger Paw. Four a year may be where they are. Oh yeah NF RAM too in 2024. I don’t see CLAW making it till 2025. So a big, medium, and three-four small ones. Yeah Skyhawk probably 2026. I guess we’ll see in time. Who knows where the world is in two years. Toys may not be much of a priority if things escalate in conflicts. I guess enjoy what we have now. It sure is great to see those big projects like APC and Sky Striker. It’s a nice treat.
Yes when I do a full review of this custom SkyStriker I will compare it to my Galactus and make some points or suggestions for how Hasbro could appease fans
Great video. I love how you kept things realistic. who has the space for all of these vehicles? I received my Dragonfly last week, but it hasn't come out of the box yet. I purposely passed on the Rattler, not because I didn't think it was cool, but for the fact I knew I wouldn't have the space for it. I personally would love to see a classified Snowcat. scaled up with a two-person cockpit. There are a ton of fans out there who think they will do a classified Killer Whale at some point, and I have to believe that is simply too big for the series if they did it to scale.
Let's take a moment and think this thru. What risk does Hasbro take with a HasLab? ... NONE! It's why we were all upset that a billion dollar company would do it in the first place! They don't make these with any idea how many to make. They put it out with some (tiny for them) initial investment and then copy-paste the number of people who PRE-PAID for it, to their vendor/factory in China. If Hasbro would give me the license or let me do their HasLab and keep the profit, I would do the initial investment. It's a can't lose proposition. Plus, in a shrinking toy market, they need the exposure and enthusiasm that a Sky Striker would bring to the brand. Thank you for a great video And for demonstrating that the leadership at Hasbro is a clown show if they can't come to the obvious conclusion to make this. It's not like they can lose any more than their initial investment, which would happen anyway because those employee's time would be paid for regardless (they're likely salaried).
I'm absolutely certain that you can make your own vehicles for these these figures, out of plastic bottles, and other hard plastic stuff laying around. Maybe even add better detail, like the OG Joe line had in its Copters, Jeeps, planes and bikes
I appreciate your thoughts about the APC and Sky Striker, they are just too big. I just don't have the shelf real estate. I do not want to go bigger than the Rattler. The vehicle does not need to be wider than 12 inches because that is the average width of a shelf. I do not store toys or display them on the floor. I also would not want to hang it from the ceiling. --Chip AKA Chopz
Lenny said that they wouldn't do the SkyStriker because it's just too big. Compare the vintage Rattler and SkyStriker and there is a significant size difference. What I am curious about is whether they will make a Conquest. If they move the cockpit closer to the nose (the weirdly central position was what makes that plane look so wrong. Old fighters with the engine in the front needed the cockpit to be in the center of the fuselage, but otherwise it should be up front.), I'd totally be in on a Haslab Conquest. Other possible Haslabs are the Mauler, Havoc and Maggot. The Moray, Whale and Tomahawk may be bigger than Hasbro is willing to go. The Snowcat or Bridgelayer are right on the borderline of being the right size for Haslab, but we'll have to wait and see what the team decide. Anything smaller than that should definitely be retail. There are a couple of appropriately sized vehicles like the Mamba that may not have broad enough appeal to be a Haslab offering. My money's on the Mauler for next year. I'd love to get a Classified Maggot. That was my largest vehicle when I was a kid. As for retail, they have literally dozens of small vehicles that they could produce. Fang, Skyhawk, Devilfish, Armadillo, Recon Sled, Silver Mirage, Asp, etc hopefully they'll do some mid size ones like the Slugger, Water Moccasin and Persuader too.
B -Locks n son wad up 1st of all DOPE VID !! 2nd of All ALLLLL HELL YEAH !!! I look at it like this if they do it like marvel legends is doing there dragon man and sentinels WHO EVER WANT IT CAN GET IT i guarantee folks WILL MAKE SPACE FOR IT there’s levels to this!! IF U have the space get it if not grab a Skyhawk n enjoy that BUT I NEED A SKYSTRIKER especially if we getting a rattler Again like marvel legends are doing not the money grab We take your money for a year then get it out the order in then get the set the time then get the product !!
I think my determining factor is "if I can't swoosh it around my office when students aren't looking" then I probably don't want it. I can swoosh my black series Snowspeeder. I can swoosh the Dragonfly. The Rattler might be pushing it. A classified Skystriker might just be too cumbersome. Also, great vid.
I have ordered the HISS & DF, next year The Rattler is on the way. Yesterday I watched the hasbro StarWars "Ghost" Ship 🤷🏽♂️ I is huge! I think the next classified is going to be the Whale 🐋 next year. That Sky Striker is off the chains ⛓️! Damn! Let's get a review plz 🙏🏽.
I'm hoping for the WHALE and the Cobra Moray too. Peeps have pointed out the Easter egg of seeing the Mauler on the Rattler patch. So likely... the strong rumor is 2025: Mauler, 2026: The Moray, 2027: The WHALE. If the keep the Land, Air and sea theme going. And if they keep alternating factions, cobra, Joe, cobra etc. In the meantime we will likely get The Dreadnok Thundermachine as a pulse exclusive or fanchannel release. I'm hoping for a SHARC, Devilfish, Water Moccasin, Skyhawk, Firebat etc. along the way. I'm very excited and supportive, like we all are. Take care! 💯 🍻
Great video man! Wow! Impressive vehicles! I def want something a bit bigger for the joes like the APC. I'm interested in the Whale if its something I think can fit in my apt lol
So I've been giving this a lot of thought. More than I probably should admittedly, but as cool as a classified Skystriker would be I believe the Conquest would be the better option. As far as size goes anyway.
Here’s the other problem with doing a classified scale Skystriker. You run into some scaling problems and an uncanny valley effect. At 1/18 scale you can get away with a lot of toyetic compression. The original skystriker was a heavily compressed F-14. Basically amounting to what scale modelers refer to as an “Egg Plane”. It was a compressed caricature of an actual plane. We see similar things go on in other toy lines. The most recognizable example being the Kenner X-Wing. At 1/18 we accept the compression as it’s still a cool swooshable toy. But as you bump the scale up, that same compression becomes more obvious and less acceptable. Star Wars Black collectors do not want a Kenner toy blown up to 6” scale. They want an accurate interpretation of the on screen model. Classified collectors will be similar. As the model gets larger, the compromises to make it a toy become less acceptable. But a 1/12 scale Tomcat is 5 1/2 feet long. And slightly wider at full wingspan. It’s a foot longer in each direction than a full 1/12 scale A-10. The A-10 also holds up a little more when compressed because of how absurd and cartoony the real thing looks.
I love that you touched on the toyetic compression. A lot of people don’t always grasp the concept. It’s why 3 3/4 scale exists so that Kenner could sell us the Millennium Falcon and vehicles in general. Once you upscale it takes on a caricature or cartoonish look
I have an area of my house where I have the Hot Toys 89 Batmobile and Tumbler and the BTAS Batwing on coffee tables. That’s what would be needed for a Skystriker. I don’t think that my wife would feel that there would be enough space for both the Skystriker and me in the house.
I think a Clasified X-30 Conquest is more realistic. Smaller. It's a design unique to the Joe brand too. And had plenty of exposure in the cartoon. The Skystriker is just too large at the Classified scale.
I hope we get a HasLab Conquest. That fighter gets slept on too often. Either that or a 3D designer decides to make the printable files so we can print it ourselves.
Striker would be like a 600 haslab. No way we would get that with all the electronics and probably just one figure tier. I got 3 Labs, I am out of room. I would rather have 8 to 12 small to med vehicles than another huge lab, especially a Striker that would be like 600 like Ghost level HUGE, won't fit on a shelf, is not compact, is a really terrible jet that doesn't fit Classified, it's old it is ancient. There are better jets and if you are taking the chance in going that huge go Raven. But yeah, I could name 12 retail/exclusives that I could buy 6 or 8 of for the price of a single 600 lab. I could probably get all 12 waiting for sales or waiting for used. I think they could do the APC made to order for 150 like the Thundermachine. APC is just a shell playset/dio/storage case, looks great for what it does and third party would make crazy mods for it.
hopefully in 10 years or so 3d printing is at a point where you are able to print something this scale with just one printer without it taking half a lifetime to do it. because there is simply NO WAY hasbros is ever making this as a haslab.
The Dragonfly. I put tape around the connector on the tail so it won’t snap when connected. The wings as well. Now I can place it back in the box.
Note to self: Change alarm code.
Lol. But sweet build, Steve. Def worth breaking and entering for.

thanks so much @diablogunn I definitely don't have the space haha
I think a Skystriker might still be doable, but it’s probably at the upper limit size wise of what they can do for a Haslab.
Best Dragonfly review I’ve seen.
They did the Eternia playset. That was massive. Clearly, Hasbro doesn't care if you have shelf or floor space or not. It's obvious they could do a Skystriker if they wanted to and if Hasbro wants money bad enough, they'll do it.

As an Action Man collector I don't tend to see 1/12th scale as big.. as most of that stuff is way bigger.
I’d love to see Action Man better represented in the line. Give us a take on that classic head sculpt

Thanks so much. This was a fun one to make. The APC is so well built.
Love all the vehicles, but the planes are just way too big for me and my collection. I love the hell out of seeing other people with theirs though!
I can see that view of things. I feel the same way
So the solution is easy: you just need a house with a duel Toy garage. You guys don’t have Toy Garages in your houses down there?

And for demonstrating that the leadership at Hasbro is a clown show if they can't come to the obvious conclusion to make this.
It's not like they can lose any more than their initial investment, which would happen anyway because those employee's time would be paid for regardless (they're likely salaried).
They have limited risk with the brand doing well and it’s in house. Seems like a win
passed on the vamp, got the HISS, Dragnfly and Rattler ordered... its already too much. im out of room
Goddammit... now i REALLY want a haslab Skystriker!!
It’s so cool haha
I'm absolutely certain that you can make your own vehicles for these these figures, out of plastic bottles, and other hard plastic stuff laying around.
Maybe even add better detail, like the OG Joe line had in its Copters, Jeeps, planes and bikes
I agree. Some adults lose their creativity
Great video!
The Apc has my heart ...I had that as a kid no top and that got a lot of play time ..
Yeah mine didn’t survive my childhood it got so much playtime
To answer your 4 questions. Yes, yes, yes and yes. lol
Ufff tremendous job on the painting…
He’s a true artist thank you
I appreciate your thoughts about the APC and Sky Striker, they are just too big. I just don't have the shelf real estate. I do not want to go bigger than the Rattler. The vehicle does not need to be wider than 12 inches because that is the average width of a shelf. I do not store toys or display them on the floor. I also would not want to hang it from the ceiling.

Amazeballs!!!
B -Locks n son wad up
1st of all DOPE VID !!
5:40 rc's mn128 flywing uh-1 are a good start.
To all us Joe reviewers and FanBoy Manchilds, it's time for your colonoscopy!
Yo Freaking Joe!
Hahahaha
I wonder if they’ll ever make a Tiger Force Chopper with wild Bill in tiger force stripes
Give us the Moray and Night Raven and I'm done collecting classified 😁
Not paying a dime, I'm gonna make my own and put them on my RUclips channel and Instagram accounts ❤
Do it!!! Can’t wait to see
I think my determining factor is "if I can't swoosh it around my office when students aren't looking" then I probably don't want it. I can swoosh my black series Snowspeeder. I can swoosh the Dragonfly. The Rattler might be pushing it. A classified Skystriker might just be too cumbersome.
Also, great vid.
Thanks and I have to agree. Although, if they could make a cool wall mount that would help with display space
I would assume we will get a main line wild bil with the blue flight suit and orange/tan vest (the sunbow version if you will)
I’m gonna have to agree. They’ll make use of the mold for sure
Awesome
Thank you it was fun to play with
Oh man, Hasbro needs to do this. ❤
I’d love to see what they do to update it
I have ordered the HISS & DF, next year The Rattler is on the way.
Take care! 💯 🍻
Great video. Printers amaze me
It’s like a weird magic haha I know what you mean
Damn. That’s so badass!
Thanks my buddy did a great job with the build
Great video man! Wow! Impressive vehicles! I def want something a bit bigger for the joes like the APC. I'm interested in the Whale if its something I think can fit in my apt lol
Dude. Are you in NJ!?
Can you hear it in my voice?
@ just guessing bc of the background
🔥
So I've been giving this a lot of thought. More than I probably should admittedly, but as cool as a classified Skystriker would be I believe the Conquest would be the better option. As far as size goes anyway.
I agree. I feel they would do the Conquest instead. It would be more manageable.
No the rattler or tomahawk more better
I was about to reply something similar. I have 1/6 Batmobiles and Snow Speeder, OF COURSE I want a Classified scale Sky Striker lol
I'm interested in the APC?!!
Me too!! It came out great right?
And You Mandarim!?!....😂😂😂😘🍩❤️🇧🇷
Yeesh.
Hey can I get that Sticker package
Does it have seatbelts? During flight the poor guy in the front seat was flopping around 😅
Hahaha
A Haslab Skystriker would easily cost $600+.
Why is guy doing a toy review outside?
My mom told me to play outside
this is why 6 inch joes dont work i like my vintage ones way bettert
We “want” the vehicles in 6 inch but do we really?
I would rather have a Conquest imo
Seems like a lot of people would like that. I’m trying to get one done
Yeah a Conquest would be fantastic
I agree I’d like to see a big push to the smaller scale vehicles. They are what made GI Joe so fun
It's NOT a tank. Just saying. 😮
hopefully in 10 years or so 3d printing is at a point where you are able to print something this scale with just one printer without it taking half a lifetime to do it. because there is simply NO WAY hasbros is ever making this as a haslab.
The print is impressive but yes with current limitations it took a long time to print
No. Whats the point if these “toys” are as big as some rc vehicles that actually fly or move. The ridiculousness of some of the toytubers is crazy.
I'm just going to say it. The Sky Striker is overrated. Count me out on a Classified version. I fucks wit an APC tho. Quality vid as always, mate.
