Nice I was wondering when you'd get one of these. A few unsolicited tips for running it, Keep the throttle up to keep the blade tip speed up so it will cut more than tear. Also keep the blades sharp. The dust they throw up will clog the radiators and cause overheating fairly quickly. Especially when cutting dry, light material like grass. Clean them often and make sure any temperature warning lights are working and the rest of the cooling system is in good shape. When cutting dense material like grass and weeds angle the front down and rear up to scythe material off and clear it efficiently. When cutting thin material like trees and shrubs do the opposite to chop them up finer. Lastly get a door. Getting smacked in the face with sticks gets real old real quick.
Congrats on the new mower Andrew! There's nothing like trying out a new machine. If I may offer a couple of quick tips from my years of experience. When mowing heavier brush and trees, try keeping the front of your mower tilted up as you push forward into your work, then tilt the front down to back drag it. Use short back and forth movements as you work into a stand. also keep your engine rpm up to maximize the hydraulic flow to your mower (I think the max for that mower is 26 gpm?) to keep your blade tip speed up, this is especially important in woody material. I have found that this method produces a nice finished product. Also please get a Forestry door before you get hurt! A 1/2" thick poly carbonate is a must have for mowing with a skid steer. Mine has saved me many times. Keep up the good work, and keep the videos coming!

If definitely spins down on the big trees, but then again, the switch in the cab already makes it pretty clear that the hydraulic lines he hooked the implement up to aren't meant for continuous use, and are meant for stuff like the moving grabbers like on some of his buckets. I'm actually quite impressed at how well this worked, given that it's not a hi-flow connection. Only thing he may need to worry about is overheating the hydraulic pump, it may not be rated for continuous use, but I'm sure it's mostly fine.
As long as he doesn't raise it above the opening of the skid steer, the 3/8" plate of the mower will stop anything. Cabs are good for A/C and heat... and apparently they allow rocks which bounce off of trees to come flying through the glass. It's amazing how hard something will bounce off of a tree from the underside of a mower. The RPM on that deck isn't nearly as fast as a finish mower though, so that should also limit projectiles.
Theres a company that makes bullet proof forestry doors for all skidsteers. If I were Andrew I'd get one, plus a truckers dash fan and I wouldn't run every where all of the time! Haha. Amazing video, first time I've ever seen one of these in slow motion. 2 thumbs up
Honestly, I think some heavy steel mesh guards between the deck and that upper push bar setup would keep most of the debris from flying back at him. Boy, my autocorrect hates me today! >:(
Congratulations on hitting 200 thousand subscribers Andrew! I bet that truck driver was really happy you had your own skid-steer to help unload/reload all that. :) For the mower...it seems like the RPMs are a bit low for the tree cutting part. And they should have like skids or rollers you can place under the edges of the front of the deck to get a more consistent height of cut.
Brian Gardiner This is infact a brush cutter. Its not built to only cut small trees. You’re thinking of a forestry mulcher. They are used to cut only trees.
that would keep it evenly on the ground, but as far as I know, skid steers don't have a 'float' setting that would allow the boom to move up and down as the terrain alters.
Since the blades are double edged, the rotation doesn't matter. I had to stop the video in a few spots to really make sure, but was concerned you were just beating the trees and grass with a blunt edge, but not the case...lol Congrats on 200K subs!
I don't know why, but I could watch you do just about anything and be entertained. 200K subscribers, couldn't happen to a nicer guy, continued success for the hardest working man in New York.
If you tilt it with the front lowered it discharges into the ground and doesn't throw the chunks far. I have a 48" on a mini track steer and that thing is a beast!
I just realized one of the main reasons why I love your videos. Its because I'm doing the job. Like I don't even need to do work around the house. I watch your videos and I get a ton of shit done xD
Since the button controls the hyd solenoid I would piggy back a toggle switch and mount it somewhere under your legs. You could use a leg to toggle it on and off. It would allow the solenoid to stay open and flow. Just use your leg to kick it off before exiting the machine
Andrew, Awesome cutter but I would recommend getting a thick lexan door for the cab front. It is recommended so to keep you from a serious injury. I have seen hundreds of videos on forestry mulching and they all have it. Check with the skid steer manufacturer or if there is one available for your machine or a universal one you can get check into it seriously!!!!
It was the joystick which made it tough to keep at full rpm's. Andrew mentioned that it was a scroll wheel on the joystick that he had to keep twisted to one side. Tough to do while driving the skid steer.
Companies should give u equipment to test out and make videos. That was a proper trial run my friend. Always wondered just how well these cut. Some guys in my area run these. One guy got his eye knocked out of its socket while operating . Another guy said he has ran over 2 deer bedded down in a thick field. Crazy. I have been looking at a smaller one to put on my 753 bobcat but im not sure if it will handle it. it will be on the low side of the gpm range. good excuse to buy a larger machine though.
Gday Andrew! Nice new addition to the arsenal! Question for you, are the blades 2 edged? It looked like from your stationary shot that the blades should spin counterclockwise (right to left) with the sharp edge cutting from the right side of the tree as you look at it. Later when you show the stump cutting and grinding, it looked like it was travelling left to right. Is there any chance it’s spinning backwards, clubbing the trees apart instead of cutting them? Cheers mate All the best JBFromOZ
I agree with you JB I slowed it down when Andrew was doing a stump. I looks to me like it is spinning clock wise and from what i see only one sharp edge so it should be spinning anticlockwise wise. I bet Andrew will find out.
They are double sided. Sounds like he wasn’t running the track loader full throttle. Mowers are meant to be run at full or almost full throttle to take advantage of max auxiliary hyd flow
I like the Idea of mowing out the front and getting to a lot of thick brush that you can push into and under bigger trees. Up to about 3 inch would be good anything bigger I would want to break out the chain saw and save wear and tear on mower. Same with stumps I would rather dig out and burn with a backhoe. After 200-300 large trees and large stumps I am sure you would start having problems with bearing, blades and other parts. Great trail maker.
There's been a tear in the time-space continuum, end of days are coming, since the amazing Camarata has blessed us with FOUR , count 'em FOUR videos in a week. Great video as always! He's busted thru 200k subscribers. Ladies and gentlemen, this gentleman's star is on the RISE!
Hey Andrew, would you mind sharing where you got this great deal? I have a friend that is quite interested in a mowing attachment, he's got about 50 acres he needs to clear of brush and small trees.
Dude, you kinda ran to the skidsteer after setting up the first camera. I could tell you were excited to test this thing out! Looks like it is a fun piece of machinery. I agree, holding that button down for several hours would suck. But I know you'll find a way to make it better, you always do! Keep the great videos comin man! Nice work!
This thing needs some mods. Big flat ski skid plates on each side so the skid steer would not need to constantly adjust the height. Also needs to be able to spin faster at skid steer crawl speed, not sure how easy that would be.
My brother uses one to mow the edges of his hay fields, great for reaching under fences along edges and lanes. He put a pair of removable field-mower height-adjustable swivel-wheels on the front so that it can float most of the time while cutting on-the-flat that he can flip-up when he needs to push it through brush and scrub. Beats have to reverse a brush-hog into scrub behind your back. His has an on-off toggle to activate the mower hydraulics, also for his pavement-brush and snow-blower attachments.
Andrew, you may want to keep an eye around the base plate where the drive box is mounted, constant impact of the blades against trees will eventually crack the steel plate. Also with that button operation to run the drive, why don't you rig a separate feed line, to run the slasher, and have a 2-way tap to either feed the hydraulic fluid via the button for normal operation and turn the tap the other way to drive the slasher just mount the tap where you have easy access to it to shut it off in a hurry if you need to, you should be able to use the same common return line for either operation.
I checking get good skid steer but still debating. I got some spots like 20% + grades. Don't want roll thing dozen times daily. Excavator other option. I had them on that plus more if you careful & no hidden logs. Youralls input be welcome.
Andrew I have watched your content for years now, and the favourite part of your vids is the ground to aerial view of the amazing woodland that goes on as far as the eye can see. I live in the uk and 90% to 95% of our deciduous wood land has gone. even though I live in the north of the UK not far from the biggest man made commercial pine forest in the country, and also lest than 60 minutes drive into scotland we have nothing now to compare to the wooded scenery on your door step . your a lucky guy never take things you love for granted. its easy to take away but very difficult to put back to the way nature intended ...btw what state you from bro.
My dad had a commercial industrial bush hog to put on the back of his Massey Ferguson that had extremely heavy blades that would shatter solid Rock. If I remember, each blade weighed more than 50 lbs each. He used that bush hog in an unaltered condition for more than 30 years before he eventually turned the blades around because they were reversible.
An OLD TIME 2 Speed AXLE switch that attaches to a 4 or 5 speed transmission stick…could be rigged to activate Off-on-Off-on of that attachment. The old swictch were 3-way, but you only need two leads I use to use them to put the ENGINE BRAKE on the stick shift..
Love the cutter... it looks like your machine is a little low on hydraulic flow, you need a high flow machine to really use that attachment to its fullest, yours does it just going to take a lot longer.

Naa a door is needed. Doesn't matter how you run it. You'll get hit without a safety door.
Well that was cool. The slow motion cutting was so satisfying!
Love how he's written "Not yours" on his pallet jack :D
There's got to be a story behind that...
Congratulations on hitting 200 thousand subscribers Andrew!
I bet that truck driver was really happy you had your own skid-steer to help unload/reload all that. :)
For the mower...it seems like the RPMs are a bit low for the tree cutting part.
And they should have like skids or rollers you can place under the edges of the front of the deck to get a more consistent height of cut.
Grats on 200K Andrew! That thing is pretty sweet. Could you maybe add some castor wheels up front so it can self adjust?
Thats what I was thinking too, and then just put the boom in float mode....
It isn't designed to be a brushhog. It is designed to cut small trees.
@@briangardiner1015 could you bring your point full circle? What its designed to cut seems irrelevant to the caster idea.
@@atVVV1 Ok if they wanted casters on it they would have put them on.
Brian Gardiner This is infact a brush cutter. Its not built to only cut small trees. You’re thinking of a forestry mulcher. They are used to cut only trees.
That’s a great job. It’s just what ya needed with all the forest and wooded areas you work in.
The truck driver was definitely impressed. "Nicely down buddy, nicely done"
Your awesome helping him out and being safe about everything you do and love the videos. I've learned alot from you.
I see removable 10" casters on that monster in the future
that would keep it evenly on the ground, but as far as I know, skid steers don't have a 'float' setting that would allow the boom to move up and down as the terrain alters.
CacheRAM I’ve seen some newer Bobcat and CAT skids that do have float mode
I’m sure Andrew can come up with a creative way to add a float mode if he needs it.
Since the blades are double edged, the rotation doesn't matter. I had to stop the video in a few spots to really make sure, but was concerned you were just beating the trees and grass with a blunt edge, but not the case...lol Congrats on 200K subs!
I was on the same page as you, had to go back myself...
Just dropped the kids off at school and now it's time for some Andrew
i patiently wait for levi's appearance in every video.. Such a good boy.
I don't know why, but I could watch you do just about anything and be entertained. 200K subscribers, couldn't happen to a nicer guy, continued success for the hardest working man in New York.
Yeah i feel the same! Amazing work ethics and pro of this guy! Amazing!
Edward Mclaughlin yes indeed Edward.
hardest working man north of the equator
@@PatrickWagz Without a question or a doubt, Andrew IS the hardest working, most polite man in the hemisphere!
Does this guy ever respond to peoples compliments or post.
If you tilt it with the front lowered it discharges into the ground and doesn't throw the chunks far. I have a 48" on a mini track steer and that thing is a beast!
461 OSHA inspectors disliked the first four minutes of this video.
I wish my yard was big enough to use one. Nice drone shot of Levi following the drone.
A lot of videos recently, thank you
I just realized one of the main reasons why I love your videos. Its because I'm doing the job. Like I don't even need to do work around the house. I watch your videos and I get a ton of shit done xD
Levi walks up and thinks..."Is this painted or powder coated?"
I think Levi did a thorough inspection and gave it the nod of approval
Since the button controls the hyd solenoid I would piggy back a toggle switch and mount it somewhere under your legs. You could use a leg to toggle it on and off. It would allow the solenoid to stay open and flow. Just use your leg to kick it off before exiting the machine
Looks like it would be nice if it had a big adjustible wheel to help stabalize it
Andrew, Awesome cutter but I would recommend getting a thick lexan door for the cab front. It is recommended so to keep you from a serious injury. I have seen hundreds of videos on forestry mulching and they all have it. Check with the skid steer manufacturer or if there is one available for your machine or a universal one you can get check into it seriously!!!!
Off to play with my new toy!! But first I will turn the pallet it came on into kindling😂😂 And then do the same to the trees😃
Two thoughts. First: Zero Turn Bushhog.
Second: For some reason I was thinking of Ferngully when you were mowing down the young pines
You need more hydraulic flow for that mower. Does not sound like you are runnng the engine fast enough.
same thing i was thinking. not enough flow or psi. one or the other.
It was the joystick which made it tough to keep at full rpm's. Andrew mentioned that it was a scroll wheel on the joystick that he had to keep twisted to one side. Tough to do while driving the skid steer.
@@Billy_Darley z
Yeah this thing was build for high flow skid steers his probly dosent have that
That’s a std flow mower and they don’t perform all that well
Companies should give u equipment to test out and make videos.
Cheers mate
All the best
JBFromOZ
I thought the same so I went back and checked, they look double edged.
I agree with you JB I slowed it down when Andrew was doing a stump. I looks to me like it is spinning clock wise and from what i see only one sharp edge so it
should be spinning anticlockwise wise. I bet Andrew will find out.
Yep I agree I was just getting ready to add a comment when I saw yours. It's definitely spinning backwards I think
I'm thinking the cutter doesn't have enough hydraulic flow and should be spinning much faster..I could be wrong...
They are double sided. Sounds like he wasn’t running the track loader full throttle. Mowers are meant to be run at full or almost full throttle to take advantage of max auxiliary hyd flow
I like the Idea of mowing out the front and getting to a lot of thick brush that you can push into and under
bigger trees.
Nice addition for the skid steer, sure it will pay itself in a few jobs.
Nice work!
200k subs... With content like this... how long before Andrew reaches 300k? :)
He was at 198k yesterday morning when he uploaded.
This thing needs some mods. Big flat ski skid plates on each side so the skid steer would not need to constantly adjust the height. Also needs to be able to spin faster at skid steer crawl speed, not sure how easy that would be.
You have to watch out for Levi, this machine is dangerous
Neat addition to the stable.
Always look forward to your videos. Love seeing LEVI. I miss my lab
I bought one for my s650 bobcat...hopefully I have enough flow for it.
I just bought an S650 also. I have no dought they have enough power.
I have a 763 bobcat need abrush hogg. Is it similar
It’s all about matching the hydraulic motor on the brush cutter to the output of you machine
My cutter is not as heavy duty as that so it should
I checking get good skid steer but still debating. I got some spots like 20% + grades. Don't want roll thing dozen times daily. Excavator other option. I had them on that plus more if you careful & no hidden logs. Youralls input be welcome.
I second that congrats on over 200,000 subscribers. People like to watch videos of someone getting things done.
4300 shipped?? How could you say no.
That's what they should cost, it's just a deck with a hydraulic motor and a blade😂
Awesome AC!!!!! Can't wait to see what you do with this attachment in the future.
Levi says nice tool dad! Thank you Andrew! LOL DJK wis.
As a lawn care/landscape guy...the sound of the blades hitting trees makes me cringe.
lmao
My dad had a commercial industrial bush hog to put on the back of his Massey Ferguson that had extremely heavy blades that would shatter solid Rock.
If I remember, each blade weighed more than 50 lbs each. He used that bush hog in an unaltered condition for more than 30 years before he eventually turned the blades around because they were reversible.
Mount caster wheels under the corners of the mower to keep it closer to the ground without tearing up the ground.
Kinda neat seeing R&L Carriers.
I Kno others probly said, but is sounds like the blades or something is banging against the deck!
Great purchase Andrew, you'll get plenty of work out of this piece of equipment. I personally own one like it and make killer money from it alone.
Hunter, what kind of skid steer do you have and what brush cutter are you running? Thanks.
Hands down this is my favorite youtube channel.
If you ever enter BattleBots....I'm not gonna play....😂😂👍
heck im sure his would be like tombstone but with a Yamaha engine and a excavator arm
Just combine two chainsaw and skid steer mowing blade....
If you keep cutting so big trees I believe blade bolt won't last long one time when you again will cut some big tree it will just break
The blades spin so they don't put much strain on the bolt.
Yep...a bushhog would've done it just as good...but you've got the one to take care of it all with thicker young trees and stumps...
I'm looking foreword to seeing this thing mulch a field or two :D
Love the cutter... it looks like your machine is a little low on hydraulic flow, you need a high flow machine to really use that attachment to its fullest, yours does it just going to take a lot longer.
Congrats on 200 K subscribers. Like the new machine. Thx for sharing!
Great product Andrew works well ,200 🎉🎉🎉🎊thanks for sharing 👍🇦🇺
Wow, like a forestry mulcher, but 31k cheaper. ;-) That thing looks like it will get a lot of use.
Hitting those thicker trees I imagine wears on the skid steer itself a lot
Congrats on 200k subs! Be at 1 million soon!
Hi Andrew
Great videos keep it going
I have Concerns 4 u
Stopping a big Rig on the

1) Short term
Stop Semi on Roadway
If u Place an angled line of Cones

It has to be 200m back
to be of any real Warning
As a workable Warning Device.
If you get rammed up the back - your life will change

No good.
2) With your Machines

As I know you
You will be Purchasing a lot more Toys
Mick Lewis - Australia
You might want to get a brush package for your skidstear, just so you don’t catch a projectile to the face.
Levi sure is a great dog.
youre a good man. helping him reload the truck. bravo
And unload it at that.
Andrew, put a set of guide wheels on the front of it. One on the right and left side. Make it so you can adjust the height of it.
