Brilliant way Tim Burton brought back Charles Deetz without the actor. The character's death was inspired by a nightmare of Burton's about his own death.
Barbara and Adam’s story was a great plot in Beetlejuice and they were such a loveable couple, but I understand why they weren’t in The movie. Tim explained it was because he wasn’t stop take the story in a different direction, but Geena Davis had a better explanation; it’s cause ghosts don’t age lol.

This is cool. I actually saw it yesterday in the cinema. I prefer to have very few people in the cinema. So I went as late as possible. Was the last showing yesterday at my local cinema. Absolutely loved it. Such a great sequel

The end dream sequence where Astrid was getting married and having a baby is the same music used in the 1976 movie Carrie when Sue was dreaming at the end and Carrie's hand pops up from the grave.

ANDREW YOU LOOK AMAZING OMG. I mean. Do I think this movie was well written? No. Do I like what they did with some of the characters? No. Did I have fun? Sure... When Michael Keaton was on screen. So all and all it was a mid sequel. Just about what I was expecting, given the history of nostalgia bait sequels.
They had so many ideas, they should have made two movies. Have this first sequel focus on Jeremy and Rory as the villains, with Rory getting eaten by a sandworm at the end. Then have the next movie be dead Rory teaming up with Delores. By having only two villains per film, the characters would have had way more room to breathe. As it is, Delores felt totally wasted here.
First off two videos in one day what did do to deserve this! Second off I loved this movie only one I saw twice this year. Third off Halloween twinses that’s my costume sir and why is this so attractive 🙃 and so well played!

Michael Keaton and Catherine O'Hara were tremendous, Winona Ryder felt like she was forcing it, Jenna Ortega didn't really have a whole lot to do till pretty much the last half of the movie. The music number at the end just went on for far too long. It's still a good movie, just not as rewatchable as the original.
Yeah, i generally agree with you, the movie was okay but it wasnt amazing like the first, oh well, it did have some fun moments at least, it wasn't terrible anyway.
As the young people say... "This movie was so mid". I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. WAY to many stroylines going on at once that could have been cut and it would have been better. It also tried to hard to rehash some of the concepts from the first, like the possession dance/song, which went on WAY to long. I also felt some of the jokes just didn't hit or felt forced. As did some of the effects. Like "Here's a skeleton that's jaw drops off and it screams!". Ok? Again, is the movie awful? Nope. But I was disappointed with it. That said the best parts were Bettlejuice of course and Wynonas character. And I did enjoy the twist with the boy being a murdered, though it was obvious something was wrong when they didn't show the parents face.
I need to see the Reel Rejects do a sketch of Andrew as Beetlejuice and Coy Jandreau as Deadpool. And have them react to a truly bad movie while roasting it à la Mystery Science Theater 3000!
I loved this movie, I know they resolved the kid murderer quite lazily, but I wasn't there for that anyway, I was there for the wedding ceremony that came afterwards... and while they didn't really use the ex wife much, but couldn't have had the weird plague flashback without her, plus I enjoyed her look and wouldn't cut her out anyway... I mean I watched this for exactly what it gave me, the weird plague scene and the crazy music scene and loved it more than the original to be honest...
Astrid's father seems to be a government employee in his afterlife. Was it not established in the first movie, that this was the fate for self deletion?
The reason they didn’t have the maitlands was because ghost dont age so seeing them old would be confusing but i do wish they were brought in the movie still

It was okay but nothing spectacular, that song at the end though was so romantic, wish Lydia and Beetlejuice ended up together.
The film was nowhere near the first, but it was okay IG, best part for me was the "later fucker" scene.

The real reason for no Maitland's was Geena has been busy and Alec was dealing with the Rust shooting legal issues
It seemed this was gonna be a “The Frighteners” movie with Lydia and the spirits for her tv show but they completely ignored that premise.
