- The developers of the BMW M3 and M4 have the floor. No frills; just information - first-hand from those who know best. In Episode 13, Oliver talks about the chassis of the new M vehicles.
BMW M3 Competition / BMW M4 Competition:
Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 10.2. CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 234.
BMW M3 / BMW M4::
Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 10.8. CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 248.
The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval.
The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model. The values of the vehicles are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure the comparison between the vehicles. [With respect to these vehicles, for vehicle related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2-emissions the CO2 values may differ to the values stated here.] The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current version applicable. The values shown are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle for the classification.
For more information on the WLTP and NEDC test procedures, see www.bmw.com/en/innovation/wlt....
Further information on official fuel consumption figures and specific CO2 emission values of new passenger cars is included in the following guideline: 'Leitfaden über den Kraftstoffverbrauch, die CO2-Emissionen und den Stromverbrauch neuer Personenkraftwagen' (Guide to the fuel economy, CO2 emissions and electric power consumption of new passenger cars), which can be obtained free of charge from all dealerships, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at www.dat.de/co2.

Why don't you show the actual parts and braces, instead of showing your face?
Damn! That’s super car level underbody bracing.
BMW was always an expert in making great suspension.Top notch engineering as always.
IMO, The most impressive of all videos from the series so far! Insane underbody bracing!
Cool color for this kind of car
Confort mode for suburban or inner city driving, sport for the twisties, sport plus for going to work and you are late
As a proud G80 M3 xDrive owner, I love watching these series of videos, very informative and awesome to see the brilliance and engineering that go behind these amazing vehicles
I'm still waiting for "Grille explained"
Quick explanation: 🐽
😂😂😂
Wow! They reinforced the chassis of the coupe/sedan as if it was a convertible. The F80 and F82 were already twice as structurally rigid as the E30 Racecar so based on on the undercarriage reinforcement alone this one is even more rigid. Amazing. The fact that “Sport” is for the Nurburgring is hilarious because “Sport Plus” is too extreme for the Ring. Legendary stuff and I love it 😂🤟
Grille explained, please
they say it's for enhanced cooling, but if you look at the surface area open on the new one is about the same as the previous model 😂😂😂
@@jonnynatali2436 exactly, nothing was wrong w the grille on the f80, and the one before that.....and the one before that 😂😂
I see a lot of M3, M4's showing up at dealerships already. When are the motor journalists going to have the car available for comparisons, and driving reviews??? We need to see unbiased opinions about the driving dynamics on these new models. This is highly unprecedented, after the car unveiling to the public months ago.
Amazing I love the M4 👌👌😍😍😍
So interesting. That's really a lot of bracing!
Why are these all recorded on a phone?
What is the “M typical driving behavior” in comfort mode?
My dream is to drive an M4 on the ring.
@BMW M Any specs or thoughts on how this compares to the previous gen?
Facts? It's heavier
Interesting.
I love that BMW is showing the inner workings of the new M3/4 to us mere mortals. As a kid playing Need for Speed Most Wanted, the E46 M3 was my halo car and now that I’ve owned both an E46 and an F80 M3 I’m so excited to test drive the new G80!
May be the “semi active chassis formula”is on the horizon.
Is that miami blue ?
Name of this colour is BMW Individual special paint Riviera Blue
@@BMWM Thank you
I wonder why is BMW not using double wishbone front suspension. Anyone knows?
ok... ignoring the grill, this car is totally amazing! it is light years ahead of my E92 M3! but man.. why couldn't they put a nose like the M8 on the M3/M4.
Great video. However, I hope many of the structures shown in this video are Internationally registered IP. Because Chinese manufacturers and Tesla are watching very carefully, taking notes and ready to copy every detail.
These new M cars are serious serious machines
I literally am not watching this video because it is filmed vertically. Car are horizontal; our eyes our horizontal; the *horizon* is horizontal.
... and for the "phone" argument: I am fully capable of turning my phone 90 degress in my hand. It's real easy.
Dome, dome, dome, dome, dome, dome, dome and a dome.
Everywhere except on the hood, which is now from a Dodge
@@nessuno5403 rlly?
Can you please explain what's this dome?
Searched on the net and found out it was about the hood scoop alike (without the vent ofc), if that's the cas why is @nes suno talking about "domes" being everywhere?
Thanks in advance
@@sofianevag9458 I was being sarcastic because Loyal Lion aaid dome many times (this is what I meant by "everywhere"). BMW M3 from E92 had a "power dome", but now they have stupid Dodge bonnet dents.
I just meant they said dome extremlly many times
! :D
😊👍👍👍
Hallo Oliver! So, did the 🐽 front you also hide cause you to rise the front suspension domes? 😂
👍😉
incredible how bmw manages to make an interview so detached and unpersonal
not watching on a phone...so not watching at all; srsly ppl....record in landscape mode!!
it doesnt look like a BMW anymore. So RIP.

i’m just here to see the reasoning as to why BMW put horrific grilles on the new 4 series, M3 and M4.
I think I have forgiven this car for being so ugly. Perhaps it will compensate in terms of how it drives.
